Clint: hey kid... can I talk to you?

*you nod hesitantly unsure what to expect*

*signs*

Clint: I saw you take the knife and I know why I saw your arm this morning

*you look down ashamed you had hoped he hadn't seen your arms this morning*

*signs*

Y/n: sorry

*he gets you to look up at him again*

Clint: you don't have to be sorry Y/n I just want to make sure you're safe

*signs*

Clint: is there anything I can do to help?

*you shake your head dismissively you feel your eyes stinging with tears and you try desperately to hold them back*

*signs*

Clint: you can always talk to me and the others does Nat and Yelena know?

*quickly*

Y/n: please don't tell them

*signs*

Clint: I won't if you give me the knife you don't need to do this

*he gives you a soft reassuring smile you reluctantly slide the knife out of your sleeve and give him it he can see the tears in your eyes*

*signs*

Clint: thank you everything is going to be okay you're safe now

*despite how hard you try a tear falls you look away quickly trying to hide it he gently and slowly puts his arms around you and pulls you into a hug your walls fall down and you cry he knows you can't hear but he talks to you anyway*

Clint: it's okay Y/n we'll look after you

*you quickly pull yourself together and pull away from him you dry your eyes feeling like a failure for breaking in front of him*

Y/n: I'm sorry I'm so stupid

*he gestures for you to look at him*

Clint: don't be so hard on yourself nothing is worth this much pain
