Some Secrets Should Remain Secret

Next Morning....

In the University....

"And transition metals ,those all metals in the middle of your periodic table, have some really unique properties......." says Professor Chamberlain, while giving lecture.

Professor Chamberlain is chemistry Professor in Cambridge University.

His amber eyes were perfectly highlighted by his apricot skin tone and sharp jawline.

His perfect wavy hairs, bow shaped lips, fitted suites and most importantly his 6.2 height is liked by all girls in the university.

Once, when he wore white shirt with black coat and black pants without a tie. The girls were on fire. They weren't able to take their eyes off of him.

They used to find stupid silly reasons just to talk to him and they started making fake scenarios of them marrying him.

Though, the lecture wasn't boring for girls as they focused on professor but for Autumn, chemistry was life. She loves chemistry, she also perform different kinds of experiments in university lab.

Once just for some fun, just out of curiosity she mixed Hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate which resulted in blast, fortunately it wasn't a big one and no one got hurt but was good enough to catch many attentions.

She wasn't suspended but given a last warning, as she was the daughter of Carter's.

After this incident Professor Chamberlain developed a soft corner for her as he was also very interested in experiments.

After that incident they both started  having very long discussions on experiments and thesis.

At the end of the lecture, he says. "Students mark your attendance on the sheet." As if eager to leave, rustles if paper echoes the class.

When everyone was leaving, "Miss Carter I would like to have a word with you." He said. Autumn waits for everyone to leave.

When everyone left, Autumn said "Yes Professor Chamberlain." Says Autumn, bit sadness in her voice from the yesterday's argument with her parents.

"What happen Autumn, you sound sad?" asks Professor, in a concerning tone. "Nothing professor, just had a bad day yesterday."

"Oh dear! You can share anything with me, just consider me as your friend." He says with a small smile to consol her.

It's not like she doesn't want to share but something in her tells her not to share that with him. He has been such a good person with her, who talks to her, consoles her, laughs with her and do stuff like friends would do with each other.

But today she finds it bit creepy of him to ask her like that. Autumn was looking at him without speaking a word.

Feared by her silence, he says "Oh, don't worry I won't force you. You can tell me whenever you want. It's just, our heart becomes lighter when things are released from mind and just to remind you I am always there to listen to you." Professor Chamberlain tries to calm her and ease the awkward situation which had developed seconds ago.

Autumn felt both relaxed and guilty for no reason. She sighs, "Thank you so much Professor for your concerns, you have been such a kind person, but actually I have next class in ten minutes so don't mind me asking but why have you held me back?" she asks in an urgency to leave but also maintain her polite tone.

"Oh nothing serious dear, just to know your well being cause you didn't look well in class." He says with a smile.

"Oh! Don't worry I am fine and thank you for asking me." She says returning back the smile.

When she smiles, her smile was so pure and so beautiful that all he want was time to stop and have that beautiful moment by himself.

Her dimpled smile was all to refresh his day.

Suddenly she snaps in front of him to bring him back from his world. "Hello professor!! Can you hear me?" she asks, bit concerned.

"Ya ya I can, I was just...urm nothing...umm... Is there something you want to ask?" he stutters. She find it bit weird and funny, says, "Nothing, I was just telling you that I am leaving..... byee" she says, with a big smile on her face. "Bye.." says he, smiling when saw her smiling. And then she left.

After the college....

Professor Chamberlain with his friend in club.....

"Oh dear heavens she is sooo beautiful, her eyes, her perfect smile, everything, everything is so beautiful about her."

Says Professor Chamberlain excitedly and stressing on each word as he speaks.

"Charles, Its not the first time I am hearing that, but who is she? Who is that fair maiden, who stole your heart or should i say he ?" asks Alex with a naughty smile and wiggles his eyebrows.

Alex Hearst was Professor Charles Chamberlain's best friend since high school. They had always been best friends. Even though Alex used to stay in Switzerland and because of so much work, sometimes they were not able to speak to each other for weeks.

But whenever they used to talk, it didn't seem as if they hadn't  talked for weeks.

They never used to keep any secrets from each other but sometimes some secrets are not meant to be told, even to your closest ones.

" Hey, it's she, and sorry Alex but can't tell you this one. But surely I will tell you when the right time comes." Charles says after taking sip from his scotch.

"You always say this and never tell me. We are friends from high school, idiot, (when he says this Charles shot him a look which he ignored and continued to speak) we never keep secrets mate, How can you forget that? Remember, you were the first person to know about my first crush? So, tell me about yours too. I also want to know who she is " says Alex, well almost shouts so that Charles would listen to him through the loud music going on in the club.

"Ya but some times some secrets should remain secret in order to save some relationships." He says and completes the drink.

The statement confused Alex and he  and asks "How can it ruin our friendship?"

"Oh god Alex!! You ask so many questions. I said I'll tell you when the time comes and now enjoy the drinks. And don't worry, drinks are on me." Charles says showing his card to him, wanting to shut him up.

After that they share some more talks about their day and enjoyed dance and music, and Alex enjoys free drinks without asking any more questions about the 'Fair maiden'.
