Vlad is bad in this one.

Danny winced, sitting in a bathroom stall, Vlad walked out of the school after his 'friendly' visit. Danny pulled his pants back on and put on his binder again with shaking hands, the vist was a little too friendly if you ask him.

Soon Danny feels it, the second core forming in his stomach. Ghost pregnancy was not on his to do list, it luckily this doesn't make him look pregnant. Unluckily it messes with his emotions and does pretty much everything else that comes with pregnancy just as much as normal for a human if not worse, he is now eating for two and keeps missing school because his parents can't wake him up (the kid is feeding on his energy and Danny only had enough for himself). He stays in this limbo until he inevitably gets into a fight he can't win, because you see most of his rouges let him have the break because of the whole pregnant scenario, he still spars with them but nothing serious just enough to fulfil their obsessions, Undergrowth has no such morals and while Red Huntress manages to beat him, Danny is absolutely exhausted, flying up to space out of instinct and (still relying on instinct) flys to the city with the most ambient ectoplasm.

This is the story of how Danny ends up being knocked out unconscious from exhaustion in a dumpster and then being woken up by Nightwing.

After reassuring Nightwing that he's fine (no he's not fine, but he doesn't really trust anyone anymore, can you blame the kid?) he stumbles in a random direction to go 'home' and Nightwing can't check he has one because Joker takes this as the best moment to blow up a building, Danny finds an abandoned apartment right in the middle of crime alley and quickly realises that this is not the ecto he wants his little impressionable baby to be taking in, so he filters it with his own ecto, Danny has literally never felt worse, imagine getting the latest viral plague and having exam season at the same time.

Soon his stomach feels like it's eating itself and Danny has no where to go, he knows for a fact that right now he's not lasting long anywhere with even a fraction less ambient ecto so he can't go to Sam, Tucker, or his own house, and Sam's parents don't like him and Jazz has her studies, besides he's not making anyone come all the way down to Gotham. He goes through his ghosts, none of his rouges really know what to do (but a few can cook and he has been surviving by forcing himself to eat their food (which considering the fact there's ecto in it has honestly never tasted better)), Frostbite has the entire Far Frozen to rule and Danny does not trust anyone he doesn't know with his baby besides he's not sure he could make the flight there, Clockwork has been busy with a particularly bad knot created in the time stream and says he doesn't know when he'll be able to leave his work, and Danny can't think of anyone else.

He's trying his best not to stress but he can barely fathom how he can survive today let alone the rest of the week. You see, humans and an annoying amount of ghosts are like cockroaches, they always survive, they somehow do, you don't know how (and neither do the bugs) but they do, Danny has never related to a cockroach more. He keeps telling himself stress is bad for the baby but basic survival needs like food and water aren't even all he has to worry about! He knows his rouges can only protect and hide him from Vlad for so long, and he does not want to go back to Vlad, Vlad is evil, pure evil, he used to have good intentions years ago but those have long since been warped by time, Vlad wants Danny to be his son or worse and probably owes him a lot in child support, Vlad is an animal and a people abuser, Vlad is horrible and even the thought of him makes Danny start to hyperventilate.

Hours or possibly days later the hunger overcomes the exhaustion and Danny follows the smell of food (thank the ancients for enchanced senses) and broke into a random building and dug in, soon slipping into a food coma.
