Sure, maybe it was my fault I hadn't been listening, but I was a bit preoccupied with trying not to pass out from sleep deprivation, pain, my injuries, and the insane thing called my life.
I walked up to the front and sleepily put my hand on the weird stone tablet at the front like Mr Lancer told me to, I probably should've realised something was wrong or at least unusual at this point, but after being around crazy powerful artefacts so long and having them cause you more paperwork they lose their (I FORGOT WHAT THIS WORD WAS, it's something like awe or touch? Please comment if you know it). "Daniel Fenton, by putting your hand on this you agree to a test about both your inheritance and family, purely for the topic of today's lesson." Mr Lancer said,
I nodded without really processing what he meant "Good. Who are your parents?" Mr Lancer asked. Without thinking and without prompting I opened my mouth and began to talk
"My birth parents are the hunters Maddie and Jack Fenton. My adoptive dad is Clockwork." I said, it was about now I realised I had screwed up
"Who's Clockwork? Is he imaginary Fen-turd?" Dash teased, again, I felt compelled to open my mouth. Like when you do something and realise too late it was a mistake and feeling time slow down as you regret everything and wished your body could react faster.
"Clockwork is the ancient of time, he's not imaginary." I said
"What's an ancient?" Mr Lancer asked
"The equivalent to a ghost god, we call them that because the age and/or mature slower but the main difference between an ancient and your everyday ghost is an ancient will have something they hold power of, for example the ancient of the ocean would have the first ever ocean core and would probably have control over all sea life and water." I explained, by now the entire class was looking at me in interest
"Did your parents figure this out?" Valerie asked,
"No." I said
"Then how do you know?" Kwan asked
"I know because I'm an ancient." I replied, gasps echoed throughout the room
"Of what?" Dash asked
"Space." I replied simply. Dash gave an uneasy laugh
"Yeah right. Where's the trick fenturd, we all know you're a loser who wishes he could be an astronaut. If you're an 'ancient' then you'd be of losers!" Dash yelled and everyone laughed, my core screamed and I fought the urge to hiss. This wasn't just Danny Fenton he was insulting now, it was my domain, my power, me.
My human side knew this was a bad idea, but honestly I've wanted to scare Dash away for a while now and I would not tolerate such a disrespect.
Dash's P.O.V
I laughed along with Kwan when suddenly something drew my attention back to Fenton, he was staring at me, his eyes seemed to glow and were much more coloured than the surrounding area even if they were a pale icy blue. Something green and dangerous flashed in Fentons eyes, he took a step forwards and I realised with horror that he was floating.
Everyone in the class stared, attention drawn to Fenton like a black hole. I got a feeling I don't feel often, of being pray. Fentons jaw clenched and his teeth grew to sharp fangs, his eyes obviously glowing as his hands sparked in a toxic green colour. Maybe that was a bad idea, everything in myself screamed at me to run, to bow, to apologise, to beg for mercy. I was frozen though.
I snapped myself out of it, shaking my body and ignoring the sound of icicles and frost snapping on my skin. This was just Fenturd, I had no reason to be scared "Don't try to scare me! You- you space wannabe! Space is dumb and it sucks nerd!" I yelled, and then I realised I messed up.
Frost immediately incase my body with ice crawling up my sides, the sun seemed to darken as stars and nebula and things I didn't know the names of swarmed and swirled in the dark jewel blue sky. Fentons eyes glowed wide and angry and a toxic green, his fingers seemed more like white claws which I had no doubt could tear through anything I tried to put in front of me, a crown made of ice yet somehow on fire floated above his head, his teeth were all sharp canines, shoulders weighed down heavily with a weight I couldn't see, he stared at me with rage I'd never seen before; and I knew without a doubt I had pushed Fenton too far and pissed off something much, much more powerful than me.
"W̶h̵a̶t̷ ̴d̴i̵d̵ ̸y̵o̵u̶ ̸s̸a̸y̷ ̷a̷b̵o̸u̴t̴ ̸m̸e̴ ̵a̷n̶d̴ ̶m̴y̶ ̸d̵o̸m̶a̶i̴n̵." he hissed, it made all my hairs stand up on edge, the presence of being in something much bigger, stronger, smarter, and scarier than I was. You know the creatures cooked up of your worst fears that you see out of the corners of yours eyes in the dark? He had scared them off without trouble.
"Nothing!" I said, screw my dignity, I just want to survive "I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! I was a liar and I was wrong and I'm a bully and I regret it and I'm sorry!" I said, he took a deep breath -which I was pretty sure he didn't need- and suddenly everything was back to normal, everyone was talking around me, Fenton was sitting in the chair in front of me looking mildly annoyed with everything and just as tired as before, and I breathed out a breath I didn't know I had been holding.
I sat through the rest of the class as glassy eyed and distant as Fenton, my head full of half formed thoughts and background noise trying to understand what just happened, and one sentence clear as ice (ha) that I kept repeating and repeating 'Don't mess with Fenton'
