You stare down at the pregnancy test that is set down on your bathroom counter. Your hands start to shake and your eyes tear up. The test was marked "pregnant." You couldn't believe what you were seeing. Anxiety built up in you. You were happy you were pregnant but the only thing that gave you anxiety was telling your boyfriend.
You and Chan have been together for four years. You had no idea how he would react to you being pregnant. You also wanted to be a hundred percent sure that you were actually pregnant. So you called your doctor. You went to the hospital and found out from your doctor that you were twelve weeks pregnant.
When you returned back home you started crying. You weren't sure if it was out of happiness or scareness. You still didn't know how you were going to tell Chan. He was currently at work so you had a good couple of hours to figure out how you were going to tell him.
You spent those hours looking up videos of how other women told their boyfriends or husbands that they were pregnant. You had seen videos where the men act happy and excited but then you saw some that were absolutely upset and angry. That's what scared you. You believed though that Chan would be happy. You two have talked about starting a family together.
You put away your laptop then grabbed your bag, not forgetting your phone and left your house to go shopping to prepare to tell Chan you are pregnant. You made your way to the store and bought everything you needed to surprise him. When you returned back home you grabbed an empty shoe box and put everything inside. You had bought a pair of baby shoes from the store.
You placed the shoes in the box and put your pregnancy test under the shoes so Chan would see the shoes first. You then closed the box. All you had to do was wait for Chan to return home.
When you heard the front door open and Chan's voice call out your name that anxiety came back to you. You were in your shared bedroom sitting on the bed with the box beside you. Chan called out your name again and started to look for you. He entered the bedroom and saw you. He walked up to you and left a kiss on your head.
"I was calling for you. You didn't hear me?" He asks. You shake your head.
He could tell something was up with you. He was going to ask but you told him you had dinner prepared for him. You both went out of the bedroom and went to eat dinner. As you two ate he told you about his day. As he was doing that his eyes were glued to you. You had barely touched your plate and he was starting to get worried.
"Baby you haven't touched your food. Are you okay? You can tell me." He says as he gives you the most reassuring smile.
You get up from your seat and he watches as you walk away. He was about to get up and follow you but you came back shortly holding the box. He notices the box but doesn't think anything of it. You then place it on the table and stand beside him.
"Um.. It's a gift for you. Open it." You say.
He puts his plate aside and grabs the box so it's right in front of him on the table. He smiles at you and you gulp nervously. He then opens the box and sees the baby shoes. A confused look appeared on his face but then he laughed. He looks at you and then back at the shoes. He picks them up and holds them.
"I appreciate it baby but I think you got the wrong size." He says as he laughs again.
He looks down at the box about to put the shoes back in it but then that's when he sees the pregnancy test. His whole body froze. He was in shock. He puts the shoes down and picks up the test. He reads what the test says and smiles. You stared at him the whole time as tears welled in your eyes. You let out a shaky breath as Chan looked at you.
"You're pregnant? You mean we're gonna be parents?" He asks.
You were too emotional to answer so you just nod. He then places the pregnancy test down and gets up from his seat and hugs you tight. That's when you start to cry. He rubs your back and leaves kisses on your head. When he pulls away from the hug he stares at you with excitement in his eyes.
"I'm so happy. I can't wait for when our child comes into this world."
"You aren't mad..?"
He stares at you shocked by your words. He couldn't believe you said that.
"Why would I be mad? You're carrying our child! I'm finally going to be an actual dad." He says which makes you laugh.
He then wipes away your tears on your face and kisses you on the lips. The kiss lasts for a while and you both pull away with smiles on your faces.
"You have no idea how happy I am right now. I can't wait to tell the members about this but we got to make sure we tell our parents too."
He then lifts you off the ground and spins you a bit before putting you back down. You then wrap your arms around him pulling him in for another hug. Tears of happiness were now spilling out of your eyes. You couldn't be more happier.
"I love you so much."
"I love you more."
