Ever since you started high school you and Chan have never gotten along. You were never friends. People even called you enemies. It was always a competition in school to see who could get better grades. Chan was always better than you, but you refused to let him win. You were now a senior. In your last year of high school, you were going to make him lose.
As you were in class studying for the upcoming test in your math class you looked over to see what Chan was up to. However when you poked over at his desk it was empty. It was weird to you. He never missed class. Or even school even if he was sick. It wasn't like him, but who were you to care? You went back and focused on your work.
That's when your teacher called out your name, "Y/n. Can you come up here?"
"Oooooh" Everyone in class said.
You rolled your eyes at them as you got up from your seat. You went up to your teachers desk and stood in front of it, wondering what she called you up for.
"I don't know if you've noticed, but Chan isn't in class. He actually hasn't been in class at all lately. He's been struggling a lot lately and it's bringing down his grade. I'm worried about him not passing his senior year and not being able to graduate." She says.
"Okay? What can I do?" You ask.
"I'm offering for you to tutor him. If you take up the offer it'll look good for you when looking for colleges." She smiles.
You let out a small sigh, "Okay. Fine. I'll do it."
"Perfect! I'll let him know immediately. Thank you, Y/n. You are a great student. I'm sure he'll be very thankful."
And that's when it all started. When you started tutoring him. It shocked you at first. You never thought you'd be tutoring your enemy. The one person who always beats you in everything at school. But you still never understood what was going on with Chan. He suddenly just started being hopeless which wasn't not like him at all.
Everyday after school the both of you would meet in the library and you'd tutor him. After the first day of tutoring him is when he started showing up to school again. It made you realize you never realize how he stopped showing up at school.
You must have been too focused on school to notice it.
Now, you've been tutoring him for four months now. And you were helping him out a lot. In the classes you had with him you were always partnered up with him. You never had a say in it because it was your teachers who put you two together.
You walk into the library and walk around searching for Chan. It was after school which meant it was time to tutor him. You walked over to the normal table you two would usually sit at but he wasn't there. You scoffed thinking he ditched your tutor session. Suddenly two hands are covering your eyes. The person stands behind you not saying anything. You recognized those hands anywhere.
"You're late, Chris." You remove his hands and turn around to face him.
"Chris? You haven't called me that since freshman year." He grins.
"Sit down. We have work to do." You roll your eyes.
He sits down and places two drinks on the table. One for you. One for him. You quietly thank him. Then you begin the work.
You were silently reading a book as he was supposed to be working on a math problem you assigned him to do. You were going to check it after he was done. You couldn't help but feel like someone was watching you. You look up from your books and see Chan staring at you. Once he notices you staring at him he looks away. You go back to reading, but feel him staring at you once again.
"I'm not your math problem, am I? Focus on your work!" You scold him.
"I can't help it. You're distracting me." He smiles innocently.
"You... God you're annoying! I can't believe I agreed to tutor you!"
"It's been four months, Y/n. It's too late to back down now."
You close your book and hit him on the head with it. He rubs where you hit him as you go back to reading. He goes back to his math problem and finishes it up. Once he's done he tells you and you look over it. Shockingly he got it right which actually made you proud. You started going over more math problems with him, but you noticed he wasn't paying attention to what you were saying at all. He was staring at you.
It made butterflies form in your stomach from the way he was staring at you. Just admiring you.
"Do you want to fail?" You ask.
"I know what I'm doing, Y/n." He tilts his head at you.
"What?"
He pushes the paper away and it falls off the table, "I never needed you to tutor me. I knew everything already."
"Are you insane? Why did you have me tutor you then?!"
His face gets closer to yours, "I needed an excuse to be with you more. Honestly, I did this for you. I've been winning all this time and I wanted you to be ahead. Not me. I pretended I was falling behind and was hopeless so you could help me."
"You're crazy! Do you hate me that much?"
"Hate you?" He chuckles. "Who says I ever hated you?"
You open your mouth to say something but nothing comes out. You were speechless. You couldn't believe him. He was faking it all along and your teacher had no idea. You were angry, but still didn't understand why he did this just to spend time with you. Especially because you thought he hated you.
"Do you... like me, by any chance?" You ask.
"Yeah, I do."
"Well, I just- WAIT WHAT?!"
You're startled by his words. You thought he was lying and trying to mess with you. But the way his face was so close to yours and the way he was staring at you said enough. He likes you. Like crazy. Now you understand why he did all this.
Without another word he smashes his lips onto yours. It was a heated but yet sweet kiss. His hands cupped your face gently and you didn't know what to do with your hands. One minute they were around his neck the next they were in his hair. When you pull out of the kiss you are left in a state of shock. You both just shared your very first kiss. He stole your first kiss.
"Did we just..."
"Kiss? Yes, we did. And we'll do it again." He smashes his lips onto yours once more.
