Chapter 7

"You monster... all of this over a boy?"

Ebony scowled at Hazel's words and threw another fireball at her. This time, it struck her right arm. Hazel yelled in pain, but they were in the farthest corner of the school. It was almost abandoned in this corner. Even the janitor rarely came to clean it.

"Not just any boy, you stupid brat! He was the richest, most popular one! And he was mine until your dumbass bestie took him away from me! And the how the hell did she even know?! That's what I'd like to know."

The trio came dangerously close to Hazel, who was still walking back. Her arm was red and she was still trying to wave the fire off. She remembered the "dumb", as Scarlette had put it, stop-drop-roll videos they used to watch in elementary. But their school floors were made out of wood. Hazel face were streaked with tears from the pain, and she grit her teeth in agony. She did her best not to scream and burst out crying, but her hand was now bleeding as well.

"B-But... w-w-why m-me? H-How would I-I know...?"

"Because you're her dumb best friend! Of course she'd tell you!"

Actually, Hazel didn't know. She'd never asked Scarlette about it.

"I-I don't know..."

Ebony glared at her.

"Don't test me. Tell me how she knew, and Raven here will put out the fire with her element."

Eve tried speaking to Ebony and convince her to stop, but Ebony just shot daggers at her as well. Eve recoiled quickly and didn't speak to Ebony after that.

"I don't know!"

Hazel fell to the ground. Tears were falling onto the ground and she sobbed quietly.

"S-Stop this madness, Ebony! It hurts!"

Ebony chuckled.

"You don't think I know that? Stop whining! It's supposed  to hurt, you idiot!"

Eve had had enough of this.

"I can't take this anymore!"

She rushed towards Hazel and created a giant leaf. She started trying to fan the fire away. It was working, but not fast enough.

"Eve! Get back here, you nuisance!"

Ebony kept yelling at Eve to stop, but Eve didn't listen. She kept trying to blow the fire away with her leaf, while Hazel kept sobbing at the extreme heat and her hand that was bleeding a lot now. Even Raven was doubting Ebony's actions, and she rushed forwards and watered the fire away. Eve's eyes went wide, and she ran to Raven and hugged her. Raven was very surprised, as she almost got tackled to the ground, but she smiled and hugged her back.

Ebony, in her rage threw another  fireball at Hazel's already injured hand. Raven and Eve stopped hugging, and their eyes went wide. Raven started yelling at Ebony, something she had never had the courage to do before, and Eve gritted her teeth. Ebony punched Raven when she tried putting the fire out again. Raven fainted from the blow into Eve's arms, who was very taken aback by this action.

"YOU STILL HAVE THE NERVE TO HIT HER, YOU CRETIN?!"

"YOU'RE GOING TO HELL, ABUSER!!"

Two people were yelling from behind and running up to Ebony. She didn't have enough time to turn around, though, because they both jumped on Ebony and started attacking her with their fists. After a few seconds of yelling, Ebony fell unconscious. Someone else ran up to Hazel and spilled a huge amount of water, which drenched her.
