When Astra woke up the next morning, she felt nervous again. The same question, "Are you ready to receive your elemental power?", was above her head. The same "Yes" button was there as well. Astra got out of bed, frowning a bit. But, she tried focusing on the positive.

'I bet I'll actually get it this time. Yeah! It was just a glitch last time.'

Hazel smiled at the thought and pressed the "Yes" button.

The "Loading..." along with the bar appeared again, and Hazel kept her hand out.

10%... 20%... 30%...

'I'll get it this time. I'll get it!'

40%... 50%... 60%...

Hazel's heartbeat quickened by a lot. She started breathing shakily.

70%... 80%... 90%...

She took a shaky breath in an held it.

100%.

After what seemed like an eternity to Hazel, the bar finally stopped loading. And the power she got was.... drum roll, please!

Nothing.

Hazel gawked at the "Error" sign again. She felt on the urge of crying.

'What is wrong with me?! Why am I the only one with no powers?!'

After a while of calming herself down, she ate breakfast, got ready and headed to the bus stop.

She found Scarlette waiting for her with a wide smile on her face. Scarlette's face dropped, though, as soon as she saw Hazel's depressed face, and she sighed.

"Again?"

"Y-Yeah..."

Scarlette scowled.

"The system has to have malfunctioned. There's no other possible explanation!"

Hazel looked away.

The bus rolled up, and Hazel, sad to not have received anything, and Scarlette, holding her head in anger at the system, boarded the bus.

The bus, once again, had students wielding elements all over the place. Hazel felt bad for the bus driver, who couldn't do anything about it, but her own sadness overpowered the feeling.

As they sat down, Hazel suddenly realized that she never really had Scarlette what happened Ebony. She took a deep breath and spoke up.

"U-Uh... about E-Ebony... she hurt me..."

Scarlette's eyes widened. She stopped clutching her fists and looked at Hazel.

"What?!  And you're just telling me this now?!"

Hazel looked away and slowly revealed her bandaged up arm. Scarlette gawked at it and turned pale.

"Did... did she have... fire?"

Hazel nodded, still looking away. She covered her arm with the sleeve of her jacket again as Scarlette scowled.

"I swear, I'm going to kill her one day..."

Suddenly, Hazel got splashed with some water, and her hair got wet.

Scarlette wheeled around in annoyance and looked over the bus seat to look at who had splashed her best friend.

River chuckled and gave a nervous grin.

"S-Sorry Hazel..."

Hazel blushed a bit and turned around, clearing her hair from her eyes.
