But why?

But why still he be seen as Death's chime?

A loud and grim silence followed. Dumbledore repeated the name twice, thrice, who knows how many times, but Harry just sat there, shell-shocked. It seemed as if it was Barty Crouch's plan from the beginning, and they'd been fooled already.

McGonagall pulled his arm up and made him stand. "You should go, Mr. Potter"

And so Harry walked through the Hall down to Dumbledore, who gave him an uncertain smile which clearly said, I'm not sure what the hell's going on, but stay positive as always.

He went down into the chamber where the champions were residing, and after a few heated arguments between the Headmasters, Newt came in between and said,

"I'd say that probably that imposter Barty Crouch might have done something with it, which just means that if we allow Harry to compete, we fall right into Voldemort's trap anyways"

"But it'z a binding magical contract, Mr. Scamander, if 'Arry doesn't participate, he loses his magique", Madame Maxime argued.

"But there surely must be some way around it — avoiding the Dark Lord's plans?", Karkaroff asked rhetorically.

"Wait a second. . .", Newt said, which Harry immediately identified as one of the brilliant guy's epiphanic moments of realisation, "Voldemort plans that Harry competes, and has probably done enough as a failsafe to ensure that he succeeds even if Crouch was captured. But that's the key! Whatever he did, he probably did to incorporate Hogwarts itself, so what if. . ."

". . . The Tasks spread across all the Three Schools randomly than just one", Harry caught on.

"What do you mean, boy — randomly?", Madame Maxime asked, although certainly impressed by the idea.

"We could draw chits as to which school hosts each task a week before they're scheduled, and secretly set it up at that school —", Newt started.

"— and we could declare that period as a lockdown in the schools, with nothing and no-one allowed to leave or enter all the three schools"

"And then we could set up the portkeys that day itself. A wise plan indeed, Newt and Harry", but Ludo Bagman wasn't buying any of it. The hustler wanted the complete credit for Britain, no matter at what cost. But after a thorough convincing, the plan was up and about.

"But Ludo was indeed right"

"But Ludo was indeed right"

He heard a voice he hadn't heard since too long — and had dared to hope never hear again,

"Why should the entirety of the British Wizarding World lose their recognition as the host in the tournament for US?!"

"Hopefully all of this passes by normally", Newt said as they were leaving, bringing Harry back in control.

"But that's the thing, Newt. Normal and Harry Potter don't fit together in an affirmative sentence — ever", Harry shook his head vehemently and Newt just chuckled and moved along.
