A cold wind swept through the air on the early morning. Wu was going outside to the village to get a few things, but never mind that. When he opened the door, he was greeted by a small girl, no older than five looking around confused. In her arms was a small plush of a bear that seemed worn out, no doubt from years of love. He was surprised at first, but the little girl looked terrified. His features softened. "Young one, are you alright? You're quite a way from home." She looked at the ground, but said nothing. She was fiddling with her hands, and Wu walked up to her. "Is everything alright?" She shook her head no.

"I..."

"Yes?"

"I don't know where I am." Wu nodded. He had figured as much.

"Would you like to come inside? I'm sure you're hungry, and there's quite a chill in the air this morning." She looked up at him, and hugged her bear close to her.

"I guess..." Well that was good at least. Wu didn't want the young girl catching a cold.

"Come along young one. Let's have a warm drink and some food. Then maybe we can try and find your parents." He gently took her hand and lead her inside. "What's your name?"

"My name?"

"Do you remember it?" She nods.

"I'm y/n."

While in the village, nobody recognized the girl with Wu, and he asked pretty much the entire village. "Mister Wu?" He looked down to the small girl. He had told her she can call him sensei, but the small girl had trouble pronouncing it, so after several failed attempts, she decided to just call him 'Mister Wu'. "What's going to happen to me?" He sighed softly at the poor girl who was now close to tears.

"You'll be coming with me. In the morning, we'll be visiting an old friend of mine." She nodded.

"Thank you." Wu was now confused again.

"For what, child?"

"For taking me in." Wu smiled softly and patted her head.

"Of course, y/n."

When they visited mystake the next morning, Y/n was already half asleep again from the long journey. She was only five after all, and children at that age tire quickly. Wu was telling her what all happened the day before. "And now we're here with the girl. I haven't the faintest idea where she came from, and it seems she doesn't know either. Not even an idea of who her mother is, more or less a name. I'm considering taking her in as my ward until we can find her birth family."

"Smart. For once, you seem to be using your brain." Wu shook his head. Y/n was down for a nap in the next room on a cot while the other two drank tea. "I think that would be wise. I'll see if I can help out every now and then, but you're on your own for this one Wu."

"I thought as much." Wu drank the rest of his tea. "I'd better get her back to the monastery before it gets dark." He stood up. "Thank you for the tea." He went over to the next room to see the small girl playing with her stuffed bear in her lap. "Y/n?" She looked up from her bear. "How would you like to stay with me?"

"Forever?"

"Not quite." He admitted to himself that he was going to be sad to see her go. He had already grown quite attached to her. "Until we find your family. Would you like to stay with me until that happens?" She thought it over.

"Yes." He smiled as she yawned.

"Lets get back to the monastery. By the time we get back, it will be dark." She nodded getting up. "I never did ask, what is your bears name?"

"Abby."

"She looks well loved. Was she your mothers before yours?"

"I think so... I don't know." Y/n, while seeming calmer, still seemed nervous around him. Perhaps she was simply shy. She held onto his hand, and halfway buried her face into her bear. That seemed to conform what he was thinking. She was indeed, just a shy little kid.

That night, Wu tucked her and Abby into a bed, and read her a bedtime story about the rabbit and the snake. As she fell asleep, Wu crept out of the room, and just as he turned out the lights, he heard her softly speak.

"Goodnight, Mister Wu." He smiled.

He was absolutely going to miss this girl when they found her birth parents. But unfortunately, she wasn't his child to keep, and he was sure that there was a set of parents out there, worried sick about their little girl. But in the meantime, she'd be safe with her family.

Her found family.
