prophecy

"We're trying to figure out which one of us it might be." I laughed. Of course, they're dumb enough to fight about something that's not up to them. "What's so funny?"

"You can't decide. it's not up to you. Of course, I know about this prophecy. It's not up to us, but destiny." I left out that sensei thought it might be me at one point, but the weapons didn't react. Sure, I was upset, but he told me he never wanted to lead me on, and that no matter what, I would always be an amazing ninja, but to not force myself into a role that wasn't meant for me. He told me about Morro and what the same prophecy did to him when he thought it might be him, and that he was sorry he led me on to believe it. Hearing that, I promised myself I'd be happy with whatever fate has in store for me, and that was that.

Cole split up their arguing hearing that. "Come on guys, we're a team. That's why sensei brought us together. Lets go home." The boys were talking about possibly training, and I internally groaned. Is this really what it takes to make them train? Really? Well, no matter. At least I'll be able to spar them again soon. But they're so out of shape right now, I should let them work their way back up to before. Besides, I was worrying about Lloyd. Would he make it back okay to Darkly's? Oh, I should have given him a ride. It's too late for that now though. He's likely long gone.

"So why do you have harsh words for his mother?"

"Yeah, isn't she your aunt?"

"She is, but family can still be mad at each other. You see, Uncle garmadon was sent to the underworld when Lloyd was barely two. His mom raised him alone for a few months, but after, she sent us a letter. We hadn't been there to see him in a few weeks, and out of nowhere, we get a letter that she's sent this sweet little kid to Darkly's boarding school for bad boys. While I love Lloyd like the cousin and brother I never had, you have to understand I'm aware he can be a brat at times. But you also have to understand he's a sweet kid who's trying too hard to be like his father. His heart's just not in it. You should have seen him once I got him down- crying his poor eyes out. He's trying his best to be like someone who wasn't really there for him. Dad and I are the only ones who could care for him. We'd sign off on field trip forms, and make sure he had his uniform fitting right. We'd pay for his school meals, and books, and try our best to support him when he got suspended for being too nice. And I'm mad at his mom for leaving him at a place like that, knowing full well she could have asked us to care for him while she went looking for her history. Instead, she left this child alone at two years old, with nobody to guide or help him. It's no wonder he's trying so hard to be like his dad when you think about it. He doesn't know his mom. No pictures of her, even at our place. I made it quite clear, that while I still think of her as my aunt, I'm far from happy with her, and will not be forgiving her any time soon. She hasn't so much as sent us a letter since that day. Good thing too. If I knew her address, there'd be nothing stopping me from storming my way to her and fighting her both verbally and physically."

The boys were silent for a minute, before Jay spoke. "You called sensei 'dad' again." He giggled out.

"Jay, not the time-"

"Actually, yeah I did. Cause he told me I can." I snapped back.

"Oh. That's great." Zane said, happy for me. Zane and I are good friends, bonding over the fact we were orphans for as long as we could remember.

When we got back, the boys were still talking about the green ninja. "So, then all of us but y/n agree, the prophecy states that one of us will become the green ninja, and the issue will not rest until we find out who."

"May I suggest a tournament? Last ninja standing wins, and y/n can be the judge to make sure there's no foul play."

"And the last ninja standing will be the green ninja! I love it!" I sigh, and Cole pats my back gently.
