(XII) 'Only if you promise me to talk to your friends.'

The next day.

Yoongi and his parents are sitting at the dining table in Jimin's house. Jimin is sitting opposite them with Mr Park.

Mrs Park keeps the last plate of food on the table and sits at it. She smiles a little and looks at Mr Park.

Mr Park says, 'Let's dig in.' and begins to have his food.

Everybody has their food and compliments Mrs Park. She chuckles softly and thanks them.

Sometime later, Mr Min and Mr Park are watching television together—it is a football match. Mrs Min and Mrs Park are sitting on the couch next to each other.

Mrs Min asks, 'Do you think something is going on between them?'
Mrs Park answers, 'I don't know, Yoo-Jin... Jimin is so into interacting with Yoongi though. I'm sure.'
Mrs Min says, 'You won't believe me. Yoongi kept asking me if I made something for Jimin.'

Mr Min exclaims, 'Goal!' and laughs proudly.

Mrs Min clicks her tongue and says, 'Honey, we are having a conversation.'

Mrs Park says, 'He probably wanted a reason to meet Jimin.'
Mrs Min says, 'Yoongi used to like a girl in school. He even proposed to her, but... She denied.'
Mrs Park says, 'A girl proposed to Jimin. He denied her proposal.'
Mrs Min says, 'I don't know what's gonna happen. Let's wait until they talk to us about it.'

Yoongi and Jimin are sitting on the couch in the bedroom.

Jimin says, 'You know what, Yoongi? I answered a junk call thinking that it could be you.'
Yoongi says, 'I'm sorry, Jimin. It was already late that night. I couldn't call you.'

Jimin hums in response.

Yoongi asks, 'How about I change the ringtone for my contact on your phone?'
Jimin asks, 'Would you do that for me?'
Yoongi answers, 'Only if you promise me to talk to your friends.'

Jimin hums faintly in response.

Yoongi asks, 'Promise?' and gazes at Jimin.

Jimin answers, 'Aye... Promise.' and smiles a little.

Yoongi says, 'All right.' and leans closer to Jimin.

Yoongi reaches for Jimin's phone on the table and Jimin feels the former's breath against his face.

Jimin asks, 'What are you doing?'

Yoongi answers, 'Just grabbing your phone.' and sits upright with Jimin's phone.

Yoongi fixes a different ringtone for his contact on Jimin's phone. He gives the phone to Jimin.

Jimin says, 'Thank you...' and blushes a little.

Yoongi says, 'You're welcome, Jimin.' and smiles at Jimin.

Mr Min and Mr Park exclaim together, 'Goal!'

Mrs Min says, 'All right. It's enough, honey. Let's go home.' and stands up.

Mr Min says, 'Let me watch it for some time.'
Mrs Min says, 'We are going home, honey. Come on.'

Mrs Park stands up and glances at Mr Park.

Mrs Min exclaims, 'Yoongi!'

Yoongi walks downstairs with Jimin.

Mrs Min says, 'Let's go home.'
Yoongi asks, 'Already?'

Mrs Park spares a brief glance at Mrs Min.

Mrs Min answers, 'Yes.'
Yoongi says, 'Okay...'

Shortly, Yoongi walks into his bedroom. He sighs heavily and sits on the bed. He receives a call from someone. He grabs his phone and laptop. He starts to work on his laptop as he answers the call.

The next day.

At night, Yoongi is in bed with his phone. He smiles shyly and makes a call to Jimin.

Over the phone.

Yoongi: Hello...

Jimin: Hello...

Yoongi: What are you doing?

Jimin: Nothing... I was just trying to sleep.

Yoongi: Did I interrupt your sleep?

Jimin: Nope...

Yoongi: Okay...

Jimin: I have something to tell you.

Yoongi: Mmm... Go ahead.

Jimin: A girl proposed to me.

Yoongi: Oh... Do you like her?

Jimin: It was a couple of years ago and she was being too nice to me.

Yoongi: Isn't that a good thing? Everybody wants a sweet partner.

Jimin: She just wanted to show that she was a caring person. I'm blind and just helping me cross the street is gonna make her appear to be a caring person. She was such an attention seeker.

Yoongi: Why do you think that? She might have had good intentions.

Jimin: Do you even know what she said when I denied her proposal?

Yoongi: Uh... No...?

Jimin: She said that I didn't deserve her anyway.

Yoongi: Why would she say that?

Jimin: Because I'm blind. Isn't it obvious?

Yoongi: She must have said it with other meanings as well but yeah, she shouldn't have said that.

Jimin: Mmm...

Yoongi: Did you deny her proposal because you didn't like her or was it because you thought she didn't have good intentions?

Jimin: Mmm... Both.

Yoongi: If someone truly loves you and proposes to you, would you agree to date this person?

Jimin: If the person and their feelings are genuine, then... Yes.

Yoongi: What if this person is a man?

Jimin: Uh...

Yoongi: Hello?

Jimin: I'm sleepy. Good night.

Yoongi: Okay... Good night.

Jimin: Bye...

Jimin hangs up and Yoongi looks lost in thought.

Jimin is sitting on the couch with a disturbed look on his face—he is breathing heavily. He slowly stands up with his phone and walks to the bed.

He unhurriedly sits on the bed and manages to plug in his phone to charge. He lies on the bed and traces the blanket. He pulls it to his waist and closes his eyes.

A heavy sigh escapes his lips and he opens his eyes.
