five.

Gray and I followed Zach up the steps to the gyrospheres quietly. I focused on every stair I stepped on, counting in my head. one, two, three, four, five.. There were so many and we just kept getting higher and higher.

Once we made it to the top I sighed in relief. I could feel my legs getting tired from walking all around the park and I just wanted to sit down. Thankfully, this ride required no work.

Earlier on I learned that we all had VIP passes and wrist bands that allowed us to skip the whole line and get on faster. That was a huge relief, now, because the line to get on the gyrospheres was huge and growing by the second.

Zach grabbed Gray's hand and Gray grabbed mine so we made a train. I assumed he did this so we wouldn't get lost.

We walked into the fast lane along with all of the other VIP visitors and followed along to the ride. Once we got there, I noticed that a gyrosphere wasn't what I thought it'd be.

It was actually way cooler. It was like one huge hamster ball that had two or three seats and a small screen in the center.

"The gyrosphere is automatic so if any of you don't like the work, like myself, you can just sit back and enjoy," the ride manager announced. I was sure that he was hoping people would laugh at what he said, but no one did. It was really quiet except for the chattering of the guests. He cleared his throat.

Zach dropped Gray's hand which in turn made him drop mine. I brought it to my side while I waited.

"You can see all of the dinosaurs from inside," Gray said excitedly. He was trying his best to get Zach's attention and I could tell. I think everyone could, except for him. "Isn't that cool?"

Zach didn't even say anything to him, just kind of shooed him off. I raised an eyebrow. Gray frowned and we both followed his gaze. Of course, how fucking obvious.

He was staring at some girls.

And not pretty ones, either. They looked like the girls at my school who were try hards and wore knock offs. I don't know what Zach saw in them, but they were surely giving each other flirty eyes.

"What do you thinks going to happen with you just staring at them?" Gray snapped.

I laughed a bit and so did the other girls. I didn't want them to laugh with me and Gray, so I glared at them and they shut up instantly. I loved having this affect on people. Besides, I knew Zach could do way better.

"Thanks, man," Zach said sarcastically. We moved up in the line.

"You're welcome," Gray said happily. He turned to me. "He's always staring at girls, even though he has Eveline back home."

"Eveline?" Jesus, she sounded hideous.

"His girlfriend," Gray had a look of disgust. "Before we left for our trip here, they were all over each other. Well, Zach wasn't on her but she was on him and it was just hilarious but disgusting."

That must've been the girl on his phone.

"Don't talk about her," Zach rolled his eyes and it was our turn to get on. We both got quiet and crawled into the ball.

Gray got in first while I was in the middle and Zach was the last. There was a handle in the middle of me but Gray had the most access to it. The door to the gyrosphere lowered and locked so we couldn't get out until the end.

I cleared my throat awkwardly as the sphere moved down the conveyor belt. I couldn't exactly place it, but for some reason I was getting a little iffy about this ride. I didn't show it though. I could really go without the guys teasing me about it.

"Hi! Welcome to Jurassic World's Gyrospheres, I'm famous talk show host Jimmy Fallon," The screen that I was talking about before illuminated and I scoffed. Although this guy was funny, he could be really stupid. But I guess that just adds onto his humor. "The ride that you're sitting in right now has the strongest, toughest glass!"

He continued to explain everything while Gray controlled where we went. I looked everywhere and raised an eyebrow.

"Hey, didn't you say there'd be dinosaurs?" I jokingly accused Gray.

We were in the middle of a grassy field and it was strangely empty. Like, there wasn't even anymore gyrospheres around.

No one said anything.

"All Gyrospheres please return to the dock," The screen said, repeating it over and over.

Something was wrong, but I couldn't place my finger on it. Gray continued to move through the fields in hopes of seeing something.

"We should get back," Gray suggested after a few seconds. We started to get closer to the gates that closed off the woods.

"Hell no," Zach snapped. We both looked at him. "We've got to have the full experience."

"Stop being a dumbass," I said. I knew something was off, and usually when a machine said go back, you turn back. No questions. You just listen.

Zach's phone started ringing and he answered it. Our gyrosphere continued to move automatically, as promised.

"Hey Claire," Zach said. He was being sarcastic. Wasn't 'Claire' his aunt? The scientist who was supposedly going to return Gray if lost? There was silence. "You're breaking up, I can't hear what you're saying."

I looked nervously at Gray and he shrugged his shoulders.

Was I the only one having a strange vibe by being in here?

Zach dropped the phone in his lap and we both waited for him to explain what happened.

"The call dropped," He said to no one in particular. Gray and I stayed quiet. "Hey, a road leading off."

I looked away from him to see the sign. We stopped the gyrosphere to get a better look.

OFF ROAD: DO NOT ENTER RESTRICTED AREA

Okay, this was really bad. This wasn't a game anymore.

"We have to get back," I said simply. Gray nodded in agreement.

"No way," Zach scoffed.

"Yes way, Zach, are you fucking crazy?" I snapped. "The sign literally says don't enter!"

"She's right," Gray muttered weakly. "It might not be safe."

"Where's your sense of adventure?" Zach asked, making me raise an eyebrow. This wasn't some adventure we were talking about, this was a literal off road that told us not to go in. And what did Zach want to do?

Enter.

Trust a boy.

"I want my brother to have the full Jurassic experience," Zach continued. I could see Gray slowly changing his mind. "Just because we're not doing what you want right now doesn't mean you have to get prissy and adult-ish about it."

"This isn't about what I want," I rolled my eyes. "You're being stupid. Right, Gray?"

"I want to check it out," Gray said.

That little back stabber.

"See?" He smirked at me and I huffed. Zach took over the controls and we were in the woods.

It looked like any normal woods to me. They had tall trees, plants everywhere. Dirt. Nasty stuff. Bugs, probably.

"Look, Gray, dinosaureses!" Zach pretended to sound excited and I couldn't help but laugh. "All four of them."

"Those are stegosauruses," Gray rolled his eyes. "And there's five of them."

"There's four," I raised an eyebrow.

"One, two, three, four," Zach pointed and counted and we both paused.

"Five."
