seven."Hey, Mackenzie, you okay?" Gray asked. He stopped hugging his brother to look at me and I felt like curling in on myself. "Why are you crying? We're safe now."
"We're not safe," I muttered. They both stared at me and I forced myself to swallow my tears and continue. "That thing isn't going to just disappear and not bother us. It was staring at me like it knew that I was scared."
"Don't tell him that," Zach snapped at me. I got the feeling that he wanted to keep his brother from being terrified, but what was the use at this point? He turned to Gray and hit his shoulder lightly. "Don't worry, Gray, we'll get back to the park in no time."
"How?" I asked. They both looked at me and I didn't make eye contact. "We're in the middle of the forest, in the restricted area. Thanks to you, Zach."
"I saved your life," He said with his eyebrow raised. "I wish I hadn't, because you're not even thanking me! I carried you over that cliff and jumped into the damn water for you. You don't appreciate anything."
"I didn't say I didn't appreciate you saving me," I said back. I couldn't believe he just said that to me! "But what does that have to do with the fact that we're stranded out here with no way out? It's not like we can call your scientist aunt to come save us!"
"Then get off of your ass and let's start looking for a way," Zach said as he got up. He pulled Gray to his feet. "Out of all the people I could've been stuck with, it just had to be some spoiled bitch."
"I'm not spoiled," I snapped. I stood up and brushed myself off. "Get over yourself, you're not better than me, you're not smarter than me, obviously, you're just some stupid teenage boy!"
"Well you're a stupid teenage girl!" Zach spat, getting in my face. We were glaring at each other and the fact that he risked himself for me wasn't as appealing anymore. "What have you done all day besides whine and complain?"
"Stop arguing," Gray shouted.
We all got quiet and I was still glaring straight at Zach. I had my fists balled at my sides and I wanted so badly to just punch him in the chest for being such a dick and not considering everything. I was the right one here, it didn't matter what he thought about me. Two teenagers and a pre teen are stranded in a restricted area of the park while a huge dinosaur is on the loose, and these two are celebrating a small victory?
"What're we going to do?" I asked Zach. "Since you're obviously the right one here, what are we going to do? How are we going to get back to our nannies? Do you have a plan?"
"We're going to look for something," He said.
"And if we don't find anything, what next?" I asked, eyeing him suspiciously. Sarcasm was practically dripping from my tone. "Are we going to walk until we find the yellow-fucking-brick-road?"
"Damnit, Mackenzie," Zach cursed. He pushed past me and started to walk into the woods and I huffed. "I'm so tired of you and your attitude. Gray, come on. If she doesn't want to listen then she can help herself."
Gray looked between us and he stopped on me. By the way he was staring at me, I knew that he was on my side. But I also knew that he had to follow his brother. He mouthed 'sorry' at me before jogging after Zach.
As much as I knew how stupid their plan was, I also knew how stupid it would be to just stand there and fend for myself. I didn't know one thing about survival except for my common sense. I knew that I had to stick with them or I wouldn't survive, but I also knew that I didn't want to give Zach the idea that he was right.
I glanced at the waterfall one more time before mentally cursing to myself. I ran after the boys and found them not to far in. If I didn't decide fast enough I would've been lost.
