ten.

Claire opened the two back doors and we both saw Gray. He waved at us excitedly and I noticed Zach rolling his eyes.

"Alright," Claire stepped aside. "Climb on in."

"This could really use some stairs," I muttered. I swung my leg up and tried to catch on, but failed miserably. "A little help please?"

Zach groaned and wrapped his arms around my waist. He lifted me up and I climbed inside.

"Thanks," I said.

I walked over to where Gray sat and went beside him.

"No problem," Zach said under his breath. He came up next and sat on the other side of Gray.

Claire looked at us all and observed us quietly. I could only imagine what she was thinking: three kids in the back of some huge truck that was loaded with weaponry. Perfect.

"Buckle up," She finally said.

I reached beside me and found that there wasn't anything.

"Or hold hands," She corrected herself before smiling briefly. In seconds she was closing the two doors and we were silent.

Gray offered Zach his hand and he smacked it away.

"We don't actually need to hold hands," He said.

"I bet you'd hold Mackenzie's," Gray frowned.

"What makes you say that?" I raised an eyebrow and looked at them both.

"Well-" Gray went to answer me but Zach put his hand over his mouth.

Everything after that was muffled.

"Well?" I looked at Zach.

"Nothing," He smiled and we all got quiet again.

Moments passed before Gray got out of his seat. He stretched his arms and walked over to some of the weapon displays.

"Look at how cool these are," Gray was in awe as he popped open the case. "I wonder what they do."

"I wouldn't touch them," I warned. "You could hurt yourself."

"Pfft," Gray shooed me off and picked up one of them. He held it in front of him and observed it. "It looks like a stick."

"Turn it on," Zach suggested.

"There's no button," Gray replied. "Wait, I found it!"

He pressed some switch and the weapon immediately came to life. The end lit with electricity and made a zapping sound, causing Gray to shriek.

"Awesome," Zach stood up and grabbed one of his own. "Dude, I have an idea."

"What is it?" Gray asked, still holding onto the shock thingy.

"Let's fight with them," Zach smirked.

"You're stupid," I rolled my eyes. "What if you hurt yourselves?"

"Who cares?" Zach laughed. He turned his on before grabbing me one and tossing it to me. "How else are we going to survive the boredom?"

"We could talk about stuff," I held the weapon in my hand.

"Like what?" Gray asked. "Our feelings?"

"No," I trailed off.

"Actually maybe we should talk about Zach's feelings," Gray smiled at his brother and I saw him clench his hand tighter.

"Say anything to her and I'll beat your ass," Zach warned.

"Why can't you just tell her?" Gray asked.

They were both acting as if they were going to fight.

Jokingly, I hoped.

"You know why I can't tell her," Zach furrowed his brows together and I stood up awkwardly.

"I want to know," I said.

"Tell her, Zach," Gray taunted. "Or are you scared?"

"I'm not scared," Zach snapped. "There's still Eveline at home."

"Calm down," I said sternly. They both turned to me. Although I wanted to know what the hell everyone was going on about, it couldn't have been too important. "Don't tell me."

"Are you sure?" Gray asked me. "I mean it's actually really interesting."

"If Zach doesn't want me to know then I don't have to know," I shrugged. "No point in trying to force it out of him."

I noticed that we were all still holding our weapons.

Ten minutes went by of us fighting with them. We were laughing like idiots until we heard Claire gasping.

Zach dropped his to the ground before sliding open the small window an inch.

I went and peeked, seeing just enough to get the view of her tablet. I had no idea what I was looking at until a red liquid splattered the cam.
