As Mia made her way towards the exit, a sense of relief washed over her, grateful for the opportunity to finally escape the overwhelming grandeur of the event. But just as she reached the door, her escape was interrupted by the sight of Sebastian striding purposefully towards her, his determined gaze fixed upon her.

Caught off guard by his sudden approach, Mia hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to react. Sebastian's abrupt departure from his conversation with the other guests only added to her surprise, leaving her wondering what could have prompted such a sudden change in his plans.

As Sebastian drew closer, Mia couldn't help but feel a flutter of anticipation mingled with apprehension. What could he possibly want from her now, she wondered, her mind racing with a myriad of possibilities.

With each step he took, Sebastian closed the distance between them, until finally he stood before her, his presence looming large and imposing. For a moment, they simply stood there, their eyes locked in silent communication, before Sebastian finally broke the tension with a warm smile.

"Hey, Mia," he greeted her, his voice tinged with a hint of excitement. "I was hoping I could steal a moment of your time before you leave."

Mia's heart skipped a beat at his words, her curiosity piqued by the intensity of his gaze. Whatever he had to say, she knew it must be important for Sebastian to have gone to such lengths to catch up to her.

As Mia stood before Sebastian, a sudden impulse overcame her, prompting her to break the tension with a simple yet unexpected question.

"Care for a little walk?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper as she gestured towards the grandiose entrance of the venue.

To her surprise, Sebastian's response was immediate, his eyes lighting up with a spark of excitement as he nodded in agreement. Without a word, he followed her lead, leaving behind the opulent splendor of the party to embark on a journey of their own.

As they stepped outside into the cool night air, a sense of freedom washed over Mia, the weight of the evening's events slowly melting away with each step they took. For a brief moment, they walked in silence, the only sound the soft rustle of their footsteps against the pavement.

With each passing moment, Mia found herself drawn to Sebastian in ways she couldn't quite explain. There was something about the way he carried himself, a quiet confidence tinged with vulnerability, that spoke to her on a level she had never experienced before.

As they strolled along the moonlit path, Mia couldn't help but steal glances at Sebastian, marveling at the way the moonlight danced across his features, casting shadows that seemed to deepen the mystery surrounding him.

Lost in their own world, they wandered aimlessly through the night, their conversation flowing effortlessly as they shared stories and secrets, their laughter mingling with the gentle rustle of the leaves overhead.

As they walked together, the night enveloping them in its quiet embrace, Mia couldn't shake the lingering questions that had been gnawing at her since that fateful night they had shared together. Summoning all her courage, she turned to Sebastian, her voice barely above a whisper as she broached the subject that had been weighing heavily on her mind.

"Sebastian," she began tentatively, her heart pounding in her chest as she searched his eyes for answers. "About that night... about us... I need to know what it meant to you. Why did you ask me to dinner tonight? Was it just... a momentary lapse in judgment, or was there something more?"

Her words hung in the air, the silence between them palpable as Sebastian's expression softened, his gaze meeting hers with a mixture of regret and longing.

"Mia," he said softly, his voice barely audible above the gentle rustle of the leaves. "That night... it was a mistake. We were both drunk and in the mood."

As he spoke, Mia felt a rush of emotion wash over her, her heart swelling with a mixture of hope and uncertainty. "A mistake? Of course, how could it mean anything else?" she thought to herself.

Before she could voice her thoughts, Sebastian reached out, his hand coming to rest gently on hers as he continued to speak.

Sebastian's admission hung in the air, heavy with uncertainty and longing. Mia could see the turmoil etched into his expression, the vulnerability in his eyes baring his innermost thoughts to her.

"I don't know what went over me that night," he confessed, his voice tinged with doubt. "But what I do know is that I wanted you, Mia. I want you in ways I never thought possible."

His words stirred something deep within her, igniting a flicker of hope amidst the uncertainty that clouded her mind. Mia felt her resolve waver

"Sebastian," she interjected, her voice barely above a whisper as she met his gaze with a mixture of regret and longing. "I... I don't know what to say. I just... I don't want things to be complicated between us."

Her words hung in the air, a fragile bridge between the worlds they inhabited – one of duty and responsibility, and the other of unspoken desires and uncharted territories. Mia searched his eyes, seeking solace in the depths of his gaze, yet finding only echoes of her own inner turmoil mirrored back at her.

Sebastian reached out, his hand coming to rest gently on her cheek, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. "You don't have to say anything," he murmured, his voice a whisper against the canvas of the night.
