As Mia and Sebastian exchanged greetings, Mia couldn't help but feel a rush of curiosity about the faculty meeting he had attended earlier.
"So, how did the meeting go?" she asked, trying to sound casual despite the slight slur in her words from the mimosas she'd had.
Sebastian's eyes sparkled with amusement as he recounted the highlights of the meeting, his words painting a vivid picture of the discussions that had taken place. Mia listened intently, nodding along as she tried to focus on his words.
But as Sebastian spoke, Mia's head began to swim, the effects of the alcohol catching up with her. She tried to stand straight, but her balance betrayed her, and she stumbled slightly.
Quick as lightning, Sebastian reached out and caught her arm, steadying her with a firm grip. Mia couldn't help but laugh at her own clumsiness, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
"Sorry about that," she apologized, feeling mortified at her lack of grace.
Sebastian shook his head, a warm smile playing on his lips. "Don't worry about it," he reassured her, his voice gentle. "It's perfectly okay. Besides, it's nice to see you letting loose for once."
Mia's heart skipped a beat at his words, touched by his understanding and kindness. As she gazed up at him, she couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude for his presence in her life.
As Sebastian's hands closed around her arm to steady her, Mia felt a rush of sensation shoot through her. Goosebumps formed on her skin, and a warmth spread through her body, making her cheeks flush with heat.
Sensing her discomfort, Mia tried to shield herself from the sun's intense rays, raising her hand to block the glare. But even as she did so, she couldn't shake the feeling of warmth that radiated from Sebastian's touch.
Sebastian noticed her discomfort and quickly stepped in front of her, blocking the sun with his own body. Mia couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude towards him, touched by his thoughtfulness.
"Thanks," she murmured, her voice tinged with appreciation as she looked up at him.
Sebastian smiled down at her, his gaze warm and reassuring. "Anytime," he replied, his voice soft.
As they stood there together, shielded from the harsh glare of the sun, Mia couldn't help but feel a sense of closeness with Sebastian. And as their eyes met, she couldn't shake the feeling that perhaps there was something more between them than just a chance encounter.
As Mandy pulled the car over and witnessed the interaction between Mia and Sebastian, a mischievous grin spread across her face. Sensing her friend's playful curiosity, Mia quickly composed herself and stepped towards the car.
"This is me," said Mia. As Mia spoke, Mandy emerged from the car, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she took in the scene before her. "Well, well, well, who do we have here?" she teased, her tone laced with playful sarcasm as she looked between Mia and Sebastian.
Sebastian flashed Mandy a charming smile, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I'm Sebastian," he introduced himself, extending his hand in greeting. "Nice to meet you."
Mandy accepted his handshake with a grin, her teasing demeanor softening slightly. "Nice to meet you too, Sebastian," she replied, her tone light and friendly. "I'm Mandy, Mia's partner in crime."
As Mia watched the interaction between her friend and Sebastian, she couldn't help but feel a surge of affection for the both of them. Despite the awkwardness of the moment, she couldn't deny the sense of warmth and camaraderie that filled the air.
