It was Saturday night, and you were blowing off some steam with your girlfriends at your hometown bar, Skeeter's. Usually you always saw the same faces here, since not much ever changed in the small town of South Park, but it wasn't about meeting new people, it was about spending time with your group of besties that had been by your side your whole life. You sat at a high-top table with Wendy, Bebe, and Red, sipping on moscato and chatting about your week. Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted a fresh face walk into the bar - Craig Tucker.

You hadn't seen Craig since high school, and you were friendly with him back then, but not close, since he was generally distant and standoffish. But tonight he had a look in his eye that you didn't recognize, and it made you curious.

You eavesdropped as he ordered a double of Jameson on the rocks. It was the last drink you'd expect a gay guy to order, and as that thought crossed your mind, you wondered why his boyfriend Tweek wasn't here with him.

"Y/n, did you hear that Craig and Tweek broke up again? It's for real this time!" Bebe gossiped while swirling her wine in her glass.

"Shut up, he's gonna hear you!" Red whisper-yelled.

"Sorry!" Bebe continued in a hushed tone. "Apparently Craig told Tweek that he wasn't sure if he was really gay, and that he still thought about the crush he had on me in third grade when I got boobs."

"Why would that make them break up though?" You asked.

"From what I heard, it made Tweek super insecure, and he already needed a ton of reassurance in their relationship. Seems like it pushed him over the edge, and he dumped Craig."

Your eyes widened in surprise. You remembered Tweek being pretty unstable in school, but it seemed awfully dramatic to dump your boyfriend just because he wasn't gay enough.

"That's kind of sad," you mused.

"I bet Craig's taking it pretty hard," Wendy commented, stealing a look at Craig over her shoulder. You follow her eyes and watch as he pounds the shots with no reaction, and then orders another.

"Sure looks like it," Red added as he downed the second glass before the bartender even set it down.

"Hey, y/n, you're the best shoulder to cry on out of all of us. Maybe you should go talk to him... he doesn't seem okay," Wendy suggested gently. She had a heart of gold and always cared for others no matter what.

You peeked over Wendy's shoulder at him again while you considered the idea, watching as he pulled off his signature blue hat and revealed a head of messy black hair. He ran his hand through it as he leaned an elbow down on the bar. He looked heartbroken, and you were always attracted to guys that needed to be fixed.

"And if he's into girls again, y/n will be the best way to find out. She's the hottest one out of all of us," Red joked, the other girls laughing along in agreement.

You shook your head at the girls but slid down off the high-top chair and made your way over to the bar. You decided to play it casually, and stood next to him to order a drink from the bartender. "Can I just get a vodka soda?"

You flipped your hair over your shoulder and pretended to just be noticing him for the first time. "Craig?"

His blue eyes met yours and you smiled, but he looked dead inside as he straightened up, towering over you. "Y/n."

"Long time no see! How've you been?" You maintained a chipper attitude as the bartender slid you your drink, and you tapped your card to pay.

"Swallowed by despair. How about you?"

You were both disturbed and impressed by his candidness. Yup, same old Craig. "Um, I've been okay, I guess. Care to elaborate on that despair?"

Craig looked you up and down, debating whether or not to talk to you. You gazed into his eyes as you sipped from your drink, knowing that if you leave a space of silence, eventually, the other person will want to fill it by talking.
