Jaeyun decided to meet Ethan the next day.  He gave Hyejin an off day because she still in her drunk state and prevents her from going to work. Right now, Jaeyun fixing his necktie while looking at Ethan.

The tension between both of them are so high. Jaeyun didn't want to meet his friend but Hyejin keep pleading to him. And now he end up sitting inside the cafe right next to window. Ethan awkwardly smiles.

“Long time no see, Jake.” Ethan started the conversation.

“Yeah, long time no see too. How are you doing?” he replied and Ethan just smile at him.

“I know your intention. You want to talk about Hyejin, right? She said you met her last week.” Jaeyun added as he tried to stay calm and not showing his jealous side.

Ethan smiles and nodding, just admitted what Jaeyun just said. Besides, he wants to meet Jaeyun because he doesn't want any misunderstanding happen between them.

After all, Jaeyun is his best friend and he willing to give up his feeling over Hyejin. Even though he likes her so much but Ethan appreciates Jaeyun more.

“I know about your relationship with Hyejin. That's why I met her last week to clear everything between two of us. I meet you today because I don't want any issues in our friendship.” Ethan explained with his little smile.

“Oh, since when did you know about us?” Jaeyun asked awkwardly.

“Since the night I asked her for a dinner. After dinner, I decided to go to your penthouse and give a little detail about the dinner. But I saw her car parked in front of your penthouse and I'm waiting. I saw her and she seems very happy.”

Jaeyun recalled back what happened that night and then he remembers. The night Hyejin scolded him because she just thinking about him the whole time. But they're still friends that time.

Doesn't matter, Hyejin is belong to him now so there's nothing he needs to worry about. But he feels bad for lying about their relationship from Ethan meanwhile he knows how much Ethan adored Hyejin.

He should tell him since the beginning.

“Don't feel sorry for me. I shouldn't come between you and her. Besides, I can see how much you love her Jake. You love her more than anything,” he said calmly.

“Still, I feel bad for keeping it from you. You're my best friend, Ethan. I shouldn't see you as a enemy,” Jaeyun scratching his nape awkwardly.

“I know you can take care of Hyejin. So, I don't mind at all.”

So, Jaeyun guess everything will be fine after this. He has Hyejin. He still has his best friend.

Fair enough.

Hyejin walked out from a bakery with a box of cupcakes. She's so happy with the thought of sharing it with Jaeyun. Just now Jaeyun texted her saying that he want to spend their together at his penthouse.

She miss him so much because Jaeyun didn't come to the office since morning. He said, he got something to do. She understands about his work but she can't help but longing on him. At least one hour with him is enough.

She put the box at the back seat of her car, making sure it safe. She drove away from the bakery and heading to his penthouse. She tried to call Jaeyun just to inform him that she will come to his penthouse but he didn't pick up.

She tried to convince herself that Jaeyun is busy so he will text her. The next ten minutes she finally arrived at his neighbourhood. Hyejin can't hide her happy face and during that moment, she don't know if it's planned or it's fated.

But she saw it by her bare eyes. From her car, she saw it from Jaeyun's penthouse. He wears a casual outfit and seems like he didn't go meet anyone today except Diane.

No.

Please, not him.

Jaeyun with his best friend, Diane. He wiped her tears while whispering something. Hyejin can't heard anything because her boyfriend is quite far from her. Hyejin could feel her heart aching.

She wish she could heard some of it but she doesn't want to know. It's like a flashback from their past. If back then Jaeyun was with Mirae, now he's with Diane.

“Did... did he lied?” she asked herself.

The next thing, Jaeyun pulled Diane into a warm hug not minding if someone watching them. And that's final. Hyejin get inside her car and drive away from there.

She needs to go somewhere. Somewhere peaceful. Somewhere Jaeyun can't find her.

“How dare he? After all the chances I gave to him and now he end up cheating again?” she asked while wiping her tears.

“I shouldn't trust him! I shouldn't let him gain my love again! I shouldn't come home again, ever!” Hyejin drove away far from the city, doesn't know where she'll find the ending.

Fuck Jaeyun and his promises! She don't care anymore! She can't handle it anymore! Jaeyun knows how Diane hates her and now he tells lie about meeting someone. When Hyejin already truly believe him!

“Stupid!”

She end up at a unfamiliar place. She pulled up right in front of a small hotel near the beach. Hyejin didn't think about anything and stepped out from her car along with the cupcakes. She need to rest.

Spend a few days here won't hurt anyone.
