•CHAPTER 17•

Friday
Kass' POV

A lot of shit been fuckin' wit me lately but the main thing was bein' away from Selena. I missed her but I know she ain't want shit to do wimmie. I figure it was just best if I carry on and find anotha bitch to deal with.

I been fuckin' wit Lexi lately but whenever I tried to see her again, she would turn me down so I left her ass alone. I felt like I was trapped inside of a wall and I ain't really had nobody to talk to but my mama and nana.

I got dressed and headed to my mom's crib hoping she could gimmie a home cooked meal and some advice. These streets been keepin' me away from my family but I had to make sure I made time for em.
Pulling up to my mama crib her front door was already opened, I pulled out my gun, went inside and searched for her.

"Yo ma!" I called out not hearing' nothing after I did. I stayed quiet and I heard rumbling coming from the backyard.

I looked in the backyard and I didn't see her, I turned around and her short ass was standing right there with her shovel in her hand. "Damn ma, I thought I was gonna have to put you down!" I laughed giving her a hug.

"No I thought I was gonna have to put this shovel up your ass! You know to call before poppin' up here boy!" She playfully hit my chest.

"Why you left that door unlocked? You know that wasn't a good idea ma." I tucked my gun back in my pants and followers her outside.

"I decided to work on my garden today and I forgot I bought new gloves. I just came in my greenhouse to get them before your tall ass showed up." We both laughed together.

I watched my mom tend to her garden, and I loved the way she was so happy when she was in her zone. "How was the trip? Where Nana?" I asked not even noticing that her car wasn't here.

"She went to go pick up a few things at the marker. The trip was amazing! Me and your grandmother gotten so drunk and found some nice fellas to talk to." She explained.

"Aww, shit. Y'all found y'all some Caribbean niggas huh?" I joked making her laugh.

"They were cool people for the time being but we left them where they were."

"So they wasn't husband material?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Not at all." She said and I laughed again.

"What's been up with you son? I can sense something is wrong." She paused on her gardening and focused her attention on me.

Mama always knew when somethin was off with me. It was a blessin and a curse.
"I met this girl and I'm stuck on her ass." I confessed.

My mama sat on the porch and motioned for me to come sit with her. She held my hand and smiled at me, "You know after all these damn years I been waiting on you to fall in love."

"Woah ma, I ain't say I was in love."

"You must think I was born last night boy. I carried you, pushed you out myself and took care of you until til you got on your own feet. I know you Kasseem David and you my son are in love."

I don't know if mama was off a perc or not but I definitely liked Selena a lot, but in love I didn't know fasho bout that.

I smacked my lips, "Ion know ma. Maybe you still drunk from that cruise."

She laughed and let go of my hand. "Kass don't doubt my intuition. I know you in love cause you never talked about a girl to me. I know you like women don't get me wrong but you never brought one home or at least talked about her. That's how I know she's special." Mama explained and she was actually right I was just too stubborn to admit it.
