Sarian's pov:

Cassian left to go get his mom and would be back any second now. I was actually panicking. He didn't tell me if she had any allergies or anything.

I made a vegetarian pasta and garlic bread. I sped cleaned the rest of the apartment top to bottom. I went in the bathroom to freshen up.

Despite me telling him to, Cassian did not send a text that they were pulling up. The door opened and my heart dropped.

Am I supposed to bow? Do I shake her hand? I did the worst thing anyone could do and I just stood there.

"Sarian!" His voice was so loud and it sounded so excited that he walked to me and hugged me with a sweet smile. "Meet my mom, miss Linda Beretti and mom meet Sarian." He walked back to his mom and whispered. "The one I told you about."

"Hi." I said and mentally face palmed. Couldn't I be more awkward? "Sorry." I extended my hand. "It's nice to meet you."

"How long have you been living here?" She asked her eyes scanning the place that consisted some of my things.

"Two weeks now." Cassian replied before I could.

"And you're alive?" She walked over to me and pulled me into a hug. "It is so great to meet you."

I smiled, pulling out of the hug. "I um...cooked for you." I glared at Cassian. "It's not much...but it's um...yeah."

She took a seat at the table, Cassain sat next to her, holding onto her hand with a smile. "I don't want to know you, I'm here for him." She moved away from him and came close to me.

"Remember who your son is mom."

"You told me you haven't killed anyone in a month. I need to know him and how he did it." She came and sat next to me looked at my face "You're really handsome. Why my son after knowing of his illness?"

I looked at Cassian. "I saw past the...illness and...I think he just needed a little...um guidance." I tried not to laugh at my definition of guidance. "He's now walking a new path."

"She won't believe that." Cassian laughed. "He dared me to not kill someone and you know me I love dares so I went ahead and killed. He brought me back, tied me up and cut me open and told me to not do it ever again. No one has ever treated me like that so I fell for him."

My eyes widened and my face was red. "Cassian!" I yelled out of pure shock.

"She needs to know how you changed me."

I walked over to him. "And we have to tell her that I nearly killed you?" I gritted out.

"Don't you do that everyday? All I'm saying is what he does make me not want to kill anyone else."
