Before setting out on revenge, first dig two graves...and spit on one of them.

Cassian's pov:

In the end, my only option was to enter my house without fear. He is invading my space, right now he gives me every right to kill him and Sarian would be on my side for it.

He was right behind me after disagreeing with not wanting to come with me. His safety was my top priority right now but also my revenge was on the other hand. If I were to choose I would go with his safety, life without him has always been terrible.

I found him on our dining table, eating all the leftover veggies. He looked relaxed like he wasn't expecting any threats, he swallowed upon seeing us. "Oh! You're back!" He smiled, wiping his mouth with a towel. "How was your date?" He looked at Sarian. "How was his mom? First time meeting her, you must've been nervous hm?"

"So now you want us to catch up?" I laughed sarcastically while getting closer. I took a seat opposite his. "Everything was amazing and you, how is cowardness working out for you?"

"Great." His smile disappeared. "Where are my sons?"

"You can't smell them?" I pretended to inhale. "Inside these walls, if you were as strong as me you would feel them but too sad you weren't blessed with a gift like that but rather a useless soul that only knows how to elongate your life but is as useless as your body."

"Watch yourself." He growled. "I killed him once." His eyes went to Sarian. "I can do it again."

"So- it's- why?!" You could hear the tears in his voice. "Why'd you take me in?!" Sarian yelled.

"You still think I found you on the streets of hell?" He laughed. "I took you from your parents. I needed leverage against Red. I knew he'd come back when he possessed my brother. That power was supposed to be mine!"

"My- my parents? No...you found me on the streets of hell! They- they abandoned me."

Gehazi scoffed. "I found you walking home from school. I'd been watching you for a couple of days then." He shook his head. "You really were a dumb kid."

I used my powers and pushed him back, but he stayed in his seat which was now a few inches away from the table. He was able to lessen the impact I was aiming for. "Watch your mouth." I warned.

"I'm happy for you two, you know?" He looked from Sarian then to me. "You tend to be weak when your love is involved." He disappeared. I turned around as soon as he disappeared to check on Sarian. He stood behind Sarian and pulled his hair back. His other hand held a knife which he held to Sarian's throat.

"You know what this is?" He asked, pressing the knife to Sarian's throat harder. "It's a special kind of knife. One made specifically to kill demons." He looked at me. "I'm sure you knows what happens if I apply enough pressure. Hand over Red and you won't have to watch him die," he laughed, "again." He looked at Sarian then to me. "So what's it going to be? Huh?! Make a move Roux! Time is ticking! What's it going to be?!"

The fear I felt, I couldn't mask it. This moment, this very moment felt so familiar except last time there was no warning and it was just action. This time he was giving me a warning which was even scarier because he had killed him once and I know he would do it again.

I should have trusted my gut and locked him up somewhere, I wouldn't have been in such a position. I laughed even if deep down I was freaking out. "So this was the plan, threaten to kill him so you get Red? I don't see that working out well for us or you. If you kill him I kill you and we both lose or if I hand Red over then you will still kill him and me." Either way I lose him.

"Exactly." He smiled. "Tough call?"  He asked, feigning sympathy. "Watch me kill him and finally get to kill me, but live without him? Or give me your power and let me kill the both of you? Decide!"

"Cassian- it's- don't do it." Sarian said with tears in his eyes. "It's okay."

"Shut up!" Gehazi pulled his hair, causing him to whimper.

"He- he took my powers." Sarian whispered.

"Andrà tutto bene (It's all going to be okay)." I comforted. "Non piangere (Don't cry)." I raised my hands to Gehazi. "He is all yours, you can take him out."

I looked at them wanting to see a gap, all I need is for him to get distracted for a bit then- I yelled in pain. It felt like my heart was being pulled out like Red was escaping my body.

The entire room looked at me, Sarian wanting to run towards me but was still being held tightly. I fell on my knees Red focused on leaving my body, making me weak. The red fog finally shot out of me and started swirling above my eyes.

I looked at it, I shot my hand up trying to bring him back instead he shot away and entered Gehazi. "Nooo!" I screamed.

Gehazi stepped back, releasing Sarian in the process who ran over to me. "Are- you okay?" He held my face, tears finally falling.

"It doesn't matter. He'll be dead before long!" He pulled Sarian back to him, using Red's power. "But first, I'm going to make you watch me kill him." He tried using Red's power but nothing happened. He tried again.

Confusion was written all over his face. Relief washed over me. Red doesn't hurt Sarian. Gehazi gave up on trying to kill him with his new found power and punched Sarian.

The remainder of his brothers teleported in the house. "Uncle-"

"Go find your brothers! They're here somewhere." They looked at Sarian and then at me before disappearing.

I stood up in anger and ran over to him punching him straight in the face. He tried to retaliate, but his eyes flashed red and he was unable to move. "Sarian do you feel your powers?"

Sarian nodded, getting up. "Yes. I- I feel them...they're stronger?" He said confused. He looked at me. "What's...what's going on?"

"Red is my soul, he has always been mine and will forever be mine." I walked around Gehazi, he should have known that by now. "He influences those that he is in." I stood in front of Gehazi whose eyes went back to his normal ones. "Red, I want you to rip him up piece by piece slowly until he is dead."

"No- no no no no no no!" He yelled. "This is not how this is supposed to end! You're supposed to die!" He fell to his knees. "Make it stop!" He screamed in agony. "Please! Make it stop!"

"I squat to his level, this is me making it stop." He caused the harshest pain in my life. My best friend, I trusted him more than anyone and he betrayed me like I had been an enemy to him all my life.

I felt zero mercy towards him, I wanted him dead and for me to never think of him all my life. "Cassian-" Sarian held my shoulder as his uncle took his last breath. "Sto bene (I'm okay). Sto bene. (I'm okay.)" He repeated.

I pulled him into a hug. "I'm sorry." For everything. Even I didn't add it to being sorry for it all, being able to save him in our past life and almost getting him killed right now, and the fact that he was raised as leverage all because of me.

And for that, I will forever be sorry.
