01| AN ANIMAL IN ITS NATURAL HABITAT
I want to go home.
I haven't even left the fucking car and I want to go home. But then again, I was persuaded with a book shopping spree so I couldn't really decline.
I can't even regret it because I'm doing this for the books.
"Get out of the car, Aleyuh." Julie tells me.
"No." I stay planted in my seat. I just want to drive home, crawl under my sheets and fall into an endless sea of sleep. For twenty-four hours.
She rolls her eyes. "Lonnie, help me drag your cousin out of the car."
I see Lonnie drop her arms and start walking towards the driver's side of my car. But before she gets too close, I open the door and jump out of the car, avoiding her superman strength.
"You win." I put my hands up in defense. Julie smirks and I lock my car with my keys.
After I do, me and the girls start walking towards the front door of the huge ass mansion. "Hey, whose party is this again?"
Julie's about to open her mouth but Lonnie beats her to it and covers her mouth. "Nathaniel's. The guy I've been with for the past few weeks."
"Yeah her fuck buddy." Julie says but it comes out muffled because of Lonnie's hand.
"Guys, did everyone bring extra makeup? If not I have some. Actually, I have anything you'll need." Nadia announces to us.
Nadia is like the mother hen of our group. She's calm and collected. Nice and sweet. And she's caring, putting others before herself. Even after we told her many times not to do that.
But it's in the girl's nature. I mean her mom could have been a real life Snow White for that matter. She was the nicest human being I've ever met and that's where Nadia gets the niceness from.
"Nads, you're heaven sent." Julie plants a fat kiss on her cheek. Nadia blushes and zips up her pink bag. "But I think it's directed towards you, Kami."
There's silence so we look to the side to see Kamilla literally gone. The bitch disappeared.
"Oh my god," Lonnie comments.
"Ya'll don't think—" I go to say but I'm cut off by literal screams of excitement. We all snap our heads and see our friend, Kamilla, dancing on top of a very expensive car.
"Yes, we did." Nadia mutters, disappointed.
Lonnie sighs, "Julie, please go get the damn girl."
Julie salutes. "Aye aye captain."
We watch as Julie walks over to Kami, who's too busy dancing on someone's car that she doesn't even see Julie marching towards her.
Yes, marching towards her.
