8. Snape Victorious

Lilly's POV
I took the first years myself because Hagrid was late. I saw Tonks retrieve Harry and fix his nose. She sent a Patronus to someone and Snape found Harry. He was mostly taking this opportunity to be rude to Harry. He was making snide at Harry saying, "Fifty points from Gryffindor for lateness, I think. And, let me see, another twenty for your Muggle attire. You know, I don't believe any House has ever been in negative figures this early in the term, we haven't even started pudding. You might have set a record, Potter.
"I suppose you wanted to make an entrance, did you? and with no flying car available you decided that bursting into the Great Hall halfway through the feast ought to create a dramatic effect."
On the way to the castle, Harry smartly kept his mouth shut.

Harry came and I changed him into his Hogwarts robes and Hermione kept interrogating him where he was but he told her later. Harry told them what happened from meeting Snape and about Slughorn. They talked about being interrogated about the Ministry and the 'Chosen One' stuff. Nearly Headless Nick said it was popular with the ghost as well. Dumbledore stood up and talked about the usual things with Mr. Flitch and the Quidditch tryouts. Finally he said, "Now, as everybody in this Hall knows, Lord Voldemort and his followers are once more at large and gaining strength.
"I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous the present situation is, and how much care each of is at Hogwarts must take to ensure that we remain safe. This castle's magical fortifications have been stregenthened over the summer, we are protected in new and more powerful ways, but we must still guard scrupulously against carelessness on the part is any student or member of staff. I urge you, therefore, to abide by any security restrictions that your teachers might impose on you, however irksome you might find them - in particular, the rule that you are not to be out of bed after hours. I implore you, should you to conduct yourselves, always, with the utmost regard for your own and others' safety.
"But now, your bed await, as warm and comfortable as you could possibly wish, and I know that your top priority is to be well rested for your lessons tomorrow. Let us therefore say good night. Pip pip!"
Hermione darted to the front with the first years, but Ron was curious about Harry's nose still.
They talked for a bit and then Hagrid talked to Harry a bit about him being with Grawp. He said he would see them tomorrow for their first lesson.
The boys looked uncomfortable and they said they weren't taking Care of Magical Creatures. They asked if I was and I said, "Of course." They still felt bad, three out of his four favorite students won't be taking his class.
I said good night to Neville and went to bed.
