Lilly's POV
As we went through the weeks Harry was beginning to notice Dumbledore, or the lack of him. He rarely came to meal and he had seen him twice over two weeks.
Halfway through October, the first Hogsmeade trip was announced and Harry was surprised it was allowed, given the security measures had to be advanced.
I sat down with Neville that morning and evening told me how Harry lifted Ron up into the air by the ankle waking him up. I laughed at it, Ron told Hermione and she wasn't to happy about it. We ate and left for Hogsmeade. After I saw Slughorn talk to Harry he came up to me after asking, "Lilly, are you able to come to my next party?"
I said, "Regretably, I am unable to, due to a Quidditch practice."
He said, "You can copy yourself, can't you do it again?"
I smiled saying, "It is quite the honor, but Quidditch can be very tiresome and I would love to put my all into it. I want to win this year."
He smiled saying, "I love your determination! Ah, you came to one, my dear and I hope to have you more often." I smiled and he walked away.
I faked gagged saying to Neville, "Thanks to Harry I've been able to evade him, but I feel bad for Hermione. She's stuck with him, Cormac, and Blaise..."
Neville said, "Yeah, but it's not your fault you don't want to go."
I nodded and we went to Honeydukes. I got a bit of Sugar Quills, Chocolate Frogs, and some Pumpkin Pastry. We went to Three Broomsticks and walked in just at the right time to see Mundungus. I saw what he had and grabbed him by the collar screaming, "HOW DARE YOU STEAL FROM ME MUNDUNGUS!"
He wiggled out of my grip and Disapparated. I was livid, that was my stuff, and that was Harry's things as well. It's a good thing I took some things before I left that Christmas that were Black Family Heirlooms. I was frustrated and I wanted to punch something. Hermione was calming down Harry and Neville was calming me down as well. We drank Butterbeer and then walked back to the castle. We saw Katie Bell in front of us as we walked back, she was with Leanne. She suddenly rose up six feet, screamed and fell. I ran to her and yelled to Harry, "Go get help!" He came back with Hagrid. Hagrid grabbed her and ran back to the castle as fast as he could. Hermione was comforting Leanne. She tried explaining through the tears what had happened. Ron was about to touch the necklace, but Harry held him back. Harry recognized it from Borgin and Burkes. It was labeled cursed.
I went over to it and inspected it. My hand hovered over it. I could feel the Dark Magic in it, there was a lot, of Dark Magic. I closed my eyes trying to evaluate it, but I got too close to the core of the Dark Magic and I was blasted backwards against the other side of the bridge. I screamed, but I was okay. However, I was, for a moment, disoriented and forgot who I was, where I was, who was there, and everything about me for a few seconds. Neville helped me stand up, but I could barely walk for some reason. He pulled me up bridal style and asked with concern and worry in his eyes, "What did you do?"
I said, "I was inspecting it, but got too close... I don't feel so good..." I promptly passed out in his arms.
Harry wrapped the necklace in his scarf and we all walked back to the castle, Neville was walking faster, I mean, I made myself light, but he didn't want to trip and possibly injury me further. I saw them explain to Professor McGonagall what happened and Harry accused Malfoy of doing it without sufficient evidence. He was still stuck on the idea, I'm not saying if he's right or not, but I will say this, Harry has quite the extraordinary imagination and determination when it comes to what he sees and what he believes in from what he saw. That can be a good thing and a bad thing as well.
I woke up in the Hospital Wing about ten minutes later. I sat up and asked, "What happened?"
He said, "You were inspecting the necklace and then passed out."
I nodded and then flopped back down and asked the ceiling, "Why am I fainting lately? Why haven't I been strong lately?"
Madam Pomfrey said, "It's because you are still dealing with your loss. It's natural for wizards or witches to have a sudden change in power when they lose a loved one, it's really hard." I nodded solemnly and she said, "I suspect you should be fine, so you may leave if you can walk without Mr. Longbottom's asistance."
I nodded and she left to her office. Neville sat on the edge of my bed, rather than his seat and I said, "Sorry for scaring you."
He touched my face saying, "Ah, it's alright, I'm used to it by now..."
I held the back of his hand saying, "I'm sorry for that too. Dragging you in my chaotic world..."
He leaned close and kissed my lips softly saying, "I don't mind actually. It's kind of fun, I wouldn't have it any other way."
I breathed, "Really?"
He smiled nodding, "Really, would I be sitting here now if I didn't care about all of this?"
I giggled saying, "I suppose not..." He pressed his lips to mine and we kissed for a few seconds. I inturrupted saying, "I think it would be best if we did this in a private place, like not where a teacher could walk in." He nodded and we took the long way round to the common room.
