19. Elf Tails

Lilly's POV
I looked down at the scene below me. Harry found another bezoar in the room and shoved it down my throat. Slughorn went for help and Professor McGonagall, Madam Pomfrey, Professor Sprout, and Professor Slughorn himself helped carry Ron and I to the hospital wing.
Harry, Hermione, Ginny, and Neville were finally allowed in around eight that morning and Fred and George at ten past. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were with Dumbledore.
Neville was holding my hand and his eyes were glassy, as if he was trying not to cry...
I smiled once more at my parents, Sirius, and Elizabeth, before returning to my body.
I opened my eyes and everyone gasped. Neville pulled me into a bone crushing hug. I whimpered, "Can't breathe!" He let me go slightly, but held me close. He let his tears out and I let a few out as well. Harry, Hermione, and Ginny hugged me after Neville let go of his death grip on me. The twins hugged me after and the Neville put his arm around me again. I said, "I found out the truth... I found out who my mother and father actually are." I told them everything, what was said, what I saw... I concluded, "So, it looks like I'm Muggle-born..."
Neville said, "So, what happens now?"
I said, "I don't know, really. I guess I'm going to live life to the fullest."
I smiled brightly and everyone talked about who the poison was meant for and how it was got to someone, but never reached its target...
Hagrid came in and talked to us for a bit. Madam Pomfrey was a bit distraught saying only seven people are allowed to see us, but Hagrid made seven.
Lavender Brown busted in saying, "Where's my Won-Won? Has he been asking for me?" Noticing Hermione's presence, she said, "What's she doing here?"
"Might I ask you the same question, " replied Hermione as she stood from the chair she was sitting on.
"I happen to be his girlfriend!"
"I happen to be his friend."
"Don't make me laugh. You two haven't spoken for weeks after he started going out with me and I suppose you wanted to make up with him now that he's suddenly all interesting!"
"He's been poisoned you daft dimbo! And for the record I've always found him rather interesting!"
Ron made soft moans and Lavender said, "See, he senses my presence! Don't worry Won-Won, I'm here, I'm here..."
Ron stirred softly mumbling, "Er-my-nee..."
Lavender ran out rather quickly sobbing. Hermione grasped Ron's hand.
Mr. and Mrs. Weasley arrived and Mrs. Weasley immediately grabbed Harry and hugged him saying how greatful she is for saving Ron's life. First Ginny, then Mr. Weasley, and now Ron... Mr. Weasley said, "Half our family does seem to owe you their lives, now I stop and think about it. Well, all I can say is that it was a lucky day for the Weasleys when Ron decided to sit in your compartment on the Hogwarts Express, Harry."
Hagrid left and Harry and Hermione followed allowing Ron to be with his family after Madam Pomfrey said only seven visitors. I hugged them good bye and Mr. Weasley asked, "Lilly, you must have known the drink was poisoned, why did you drink or let this happen?"
I said, "I did know and this will allow events to speed up a bit. I knew Harry would save Ron, so he will be okay. I drank the oak-matured mead because I got a few answers out of my "parents"." I then told Mr. and Mrs. Weasley what I found out and what happened...
She hugged me saying, "No matter what, you'll always have a family with us." I smiled hugging her back.

I left the hospital two days later. In that time McLaggen was getting on Harry's nerves. He was trying to boss everyone around in the practices. Harry, especially, was getting sick of it besides Ginny, Jimmy, Ritchie, and I.
Before the Quidditch Match next Saturday started, Harry stopped by to see Ron and caught up with Malfoy on his way out...
It was time for the match and Cormac was still trying to be the leader, again.
Ginny and I scored a goal a piece and then when Luna announced that McLaggen got one of the Beater's bats. I tossed the Quaffle to Dean and flew towards Harry who was falling rather quickly after McLaggen took Peaks' bat and hit it towards a Hufflepuff player, but hit Harry instead after a bad aim. I caught Harry and brought him to the ground trying to wake him up. Madam Hooch paused the game and I was shaking Harry by the shoulders yelling, "Harry, wake up!" I took his head in my hands and felt something warm. It was his blood and I teleported him straight to the Hospital Wing. I told Madam Hooch, "Cracked skull. Now, if the match will be paused for one more second..." I grabbed Peaks' bat and copied one for myself. I abandoned my broom and flew up to McLaggen. I began hitting McLaggen with a passion yelling, "YOU POMPUS- " WHACK! "SELF-CENTERED-" WHACK! "EGOTSTICAL-" WHACK! "PRESUMPTUOUS-" WHACK! "CONCEITED!- WHACK! "ARROGANT-" WHACK! "PRAT!" WHACK! I paused my hitting to yell, "YOU COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY HURT HARRY! NEXT TIME STICK TO YOUR JOB AS A TEAM MEMBER, NOT A LEADER! YOUR A HORRIBLE ONE AT THAT! YOU-" My screams were cut off by Madam Hooch's whistle. She told me to destroy the bat I made, to stop hitting McLaggen, and to continue with the match. I took the bat in my hand, faced McLaggen and showed him the fire in my eyes. I set the bat on fire with my bare hand and burned it rather quickly saying, "No one likes a boy who is bumptious..."
I played Seeker and Chaser, but only scored two more goals and Ginny the same. McLaggen just gave up really and the final score was three hundred and twenty to sixty... I was going to kill McLaggen if Harry didn't get to him first. As soon as I changed I waited for McLaggen and I was going to jump on him, but Ginny, Dean, Jimmy, Ritchie and Neville stopped me. Neville had his arms around my waist dragging me away. Jimmy, Ritchie, and Dean were blocking my view of McLaggen. Ginny had my wand in her hand.
Ginny said, "If you hit him further one of the teachers might kick you off the team!"
I said, "Only McGonagall or Harry can do that and frankly after all of this I think they'll let it slide!" I was struggling to smack that smirk accross McLaggen's face off.
"Seems as though you've grown very fond of Potter, eh Black? What are you doing? Cheating on Longbottom with Potter?" sneered McLaggen. He stood seven feet away from me.
I was struggling even harder yelling, "HOW DARE YOU? YOU COCKY, IMPERTINENT, ARSE!"
Neville was being brave and stupid. He released me and Dean took Neville's place by holding me back.
Neville went over and punched McLaggen. Everyone froze. McLaggen fell to the ground and I tugged Neville away from him.
I found an abandoned corridor and kissed with everything I had. After a few moments, I pulled away breathless, "I love you, so much!"
He pulled away equally breathless saying, "You're not mad?" I flung my arms around him shrieking, "Bloody hell, Neville! That was amazing! I could never be mad at you, I was only mad that you held me back to do further damage, but you took care of that yourself!"
We lip locked for a few more moments and retired to a tree near the Black Lake to watch the sun set.

I saw Harry wake up and Ron explained what happened with me and McLaggen and Harry explained about Malfoy.
Later that night Harry had Dobby and Kreacher tail Malfoy to let him know what he's been up to. It was genius!
