Before Things Change, Harry Potter Year 6

26. The Cave

Lilly's POV
They swam to the cave entrance nearby and Dumbledore used his blood, to Harry's protest, to enter the actual cave. Before them was a gigantic lake with a hint of a mist.
Dumbledore found the boat from the magical traces it left behind. He and Harry got into the boat to journey to the center of the lake after talking about how Voldemort underestimates youth. They journeyed to the center of the lake and Harry discovered there were bodies at the bottom of the lake and Dumbledore said not to worry about them. Not yet, anyway...
They reached the middle of the lake and found a small island with a stone basin that had emerald liquid in it. It was untouchable, thus unable to be defined, no charm or spell could show what it was. It had an invisible seal that didn't allow it to be touched,
Dumbledore made Harry make Dumbledore drink it. Harry felt appalled as he saw what became of Dumbledore as he drank it.
I was taking a small nap by the fire with Neville, Ron, and Hermione right now. I saw what Dumbledore saw. I was sucked into what he was seeing and I was unable to come out of it.
Tears were flowing out of my face and I was sobbing. Neville was trying to snap me out of it, but it was too much.
Dumbledore was screaming things like he didn't want to do something and to someone to not make him do what he was going to do. Ultimately Dumbledore screamed at Harry to kill him...
I finally awoke after Dumbledore passed out. I was sobbing into Neville's neck, thankfully only we were in the common room... Harry tried to get Dumbledore water, but it would disappear from the goblet.
Harry got desperate and eventually grabbed some of the lake water, but a icy hand grabbed Harry. Inferi swarmed Harry. He neglected to remember that only fire could get rid of them. He Petrified them and used the Sectumsempra spell, but worked to no avail. He was dragged down to drown, but Dumbledore saved Harry using fire. They got out of the cave and Harry said, "It's going to be alright, sir. We're nearly there... I can Apparate us both back... Don't worry."
Dumbledore replied, "I am not worried, Harry, I am with you."
