27. The Lightning-Struck Tower

Lilly's POV
I saw Draco and paused time. I unfroze his mind, ears, and eyes. I said, "Hello, Draco. Your looking well. You know what to do... You have a choice: to do what your told, or choose what to do..." Time resumed.
Ron, Ginny, Neville, and I were in front of the Room of Requirement. We were instantly found by darkness and couldn't do anything about it. I dragged everyone out of the way and we found Lupin and we saw the Death Eaters journey towards the Asrtonomy Tower. They scattered and Gibbon was able to escape to set off the Dark Mark. We fought like never before. Hermione, Ron, and Ginny had Liquid Luck in their system which allowed them to survive. I had to protect Tonks and Professor McGonagall from being hit by a few Killing Curses.
Hermione and Luna were outside Snape's office when Professor Flitwick came down. Snape Stunned him and escaped.
I was in a deep battle with Greyback. I fought like heck, but another Death Eater distracted me from Greyback and I turned to my left slightly and Greyback bit my right shoulder. I sent him backwards again with a curse and he was just about to attack me when Bill saved my life. Greyback attacked Bill. I sent Greyback flying backwards again and I wasn't going to let Greyback hurt anyone else. I cast myself in front of Bill protecting him as he did for me.

They all ran up the stairs and Snape after them. I kneeled, attending to Bill's wounds trying to help it, not to noticing anything else. Neville got thrown back and after Snape went through the barrier, so did Lupin. I made a quick sling for my arm before the next phase of the battle started. I took off my ruined cloak and cut it using my wand. I used magic to tie it around my arm taking majority of the weight off my very bloody and mangled shoulder. It so happened, the Gryffindor crest was facing outward. Anyway, I wrapped my shoulder up quickly and forced the wrappings under the tie to make it hold its place. I was trying my best with Bill until the battle continued and unfortunately I had to fight.

Before and during all of this, Harry got the both of them to Hogsmeade successfully. they had gotten to Hogwarts safety and Dumbledore told Harry to get Snape. Harry obediently went, until Malfoy showed up and Disarmed Dumbledore. They talked how Malfoy used the Vanishing Cabinet in the Room of Requirement to get the Death Eaters here. Malfoy had been behind the almost death of Katie Bell and the almost poisoning of Ron and me. He had Imperiated Madam Rosmerta and talked with her through enchanted coins. An idea from Dumbledore's Army last year.
Dumbledore had offered Draco a chance to change, to help him. When Dumbledore could be killed at any moment, he was offering Draco help and protection, even offering his mother and father that protection as well. Draco said he would be killed if he didn't kill Dumbledore. His whole family even. He had to do this job. Dumbledore said Draco was not a killer.
Draco said, "But I got this far, didn't I? They thought I'd die in the attempt, but I'm here... and you're in my power... I'm the one with the wand... You're at my mercy..."
Dumbledore said quietly, "No, Draco, it is my mercy, and not yours, that matters now..."
The words I said to Draco earlier flashed in his mind... His wands dropped a fraction.
Many Death Eaters arrived. Amycus, Alecto, Fenrir, Bellatrix, Gibbon, and after a bit of talking... Snape.

Dumbledore said, "Severus... Severus, please..."
"Avada Kedavra!"

Dumbledore was dead...
