Chapter XII

As the car left the bustling city of Anyang Gyeonggi behind, the noise faded, replaced by the quiet elegance of the upper-class enclave in the countryside. The air shifted, carrying the scent of flowers and the rustle of leaves, as if entering a realm where time moves slower and luxury was the norm.

Though the insides of both cars were anything but calm, the tension was thick, Kim siblings knew their grandparents, while Kim SeokMin and Park Sungi knew the dreadful weekend this is going to be, though they are trying to set their foot down in front of his parents, Sungi's past isn't going help a lot in front of SeokMin's old school parents.

"We have arrived", the cars stopped outside the gigantic gates of Kim's family house of four generations, the security stepped out, and the cars again started rolling down a beautiful, flower-lined driveway, meticulously manicured gardens looking like twins on both sides, A majestic water fountain stood as a centrepiece, with each passing moment, the cars inched closer, finally coming to a gentle halt at the front entrance, on the stoop, senior Mr&Mrs Kim were waiting, along with the family butler, a few servants, in their white and black uniforms, it almost looked like a good old korean drama.

The Kim siblings bowed 90° to their grandparents, and Park siblings followed the suite, "Haraboji, Halmoni, How are you?" They greeted, as were hugged one by one, while Park siblings were only given polite smiles and nods, except Jungkook, he was patted on the head by Grandma Kim.

"Let's Head inside?" The butler questioned after the greetings were over, Kim SeokMin and Sungi too had bowed and got a small nod from both in return.

"Yes" With that Grandpa Kim started walking inside, Kim siblings glanced at each other sending reassuring smiles towards awkwardly standing Park siblings.

"It's okay, Appa," Taehee whispered As she stood on her father's right side.

Climbing the small flight of stairs, followed by the hallway, they reached a familiar hallroom, while the Park family took in the magnificent white and golden detailed hallroom, almost as if entering a palace.

As they all settled down, it felt like sitting in the principal's office, "Ms. Park, these are your kids?" Grandma Kim asked Sungi, who nodded with a small smile, "Yes, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin and Jungkook" as she looked at her sons.

"Boys, introduce yourself" She told them, motioning towards the old Kims,

"Min Yoongi, 23, Senior Music Producer at Hybe" Introduced himself in a confident look, at the mention of Hybe, a brief look of recognition came on Grandpa Kim's face, as he gave a look to his son,

"Hello, Iam Hoseok, 22. I am a Dance Instructor, nice to meet you" Hoseok flashed his sunshine smile through the cutting awkwardness of the room, "good, good"

"I am Park Jimin. I am 20 and studying at Seoul University," Jimin smiled at the Grandparents, to which they returned, "what course are you doing kid?" Grandpa Kim asked, "Law" this got a nod of approval from both grandparents.

Jungkook was the most nervous of them all, as they finally looked his way, "I am Jungkook, I am still in high school, and I am 17"

"Aigoo, so cute" Grandma Kim whispered, the tea was served after the round of polite introductions were done, snacks and tea was served.

Tea entered the late hours of evening, with Mr. Kim Senior and Kim SeokMin talking about all the political stuff to company talks back and forth, while Grandma Kim entertained the kids and conversed with Sungi occasionally.

"SeokJin-ah, go show the kids around the mansion" Grandpa Kim spoke as he looked towards the Park siblings.

Seokjin and rest nodded before standing up and quickly moving out of the sitting room, into the adjacent hallway, "Thank goodness, I was waiting for him to let us go, the politics bored the hell out of me" said Yoongi as soon as they were out of earshot, "I can relate" Jimin, Taehyung, Taehee and Jungkook said at the very same time.
