When we arrived back at the Alpha house, we got Avery settled with Maddie and assigned her a room for her to stay in. Then I quickly ran up to my room to see how my father was doing before getting ready for tonight's event. He looked so much better, loving the fact the color has return back in his cheeks. I approached him and immediately embraced him in a hug, this new found feeling of a father took some getting used too.
"How are you my child, you seem happy, " my father stated while he positioned himself in the bed to sit upright. He winced at the pain as he leaned back against the head board.
"Are you okay? Do you need anything?, I said concern clear in my voice. He still looks fragile even though his large built form appears fit and taken care of. He may have started to look better doesn't mean he is.
"No, my child. I am fine. Just not used to staying in a comfortable bed in a very long time. My body had become so used to the concrete slab as a bed for the longest time, that finally sleeping in a bed took some time getting used to." he said smiling at me with loving eyes.
I leaned over back into my father giving him a half hug. "Well I'm glad we found you and that you are in a better place, now.
"I would like to ask you a question about mom. He just nodded at me curiosly. "When you found mom, I can only assume she was your mate. Did you know right away that she was your mate?
He chuckled, "Yes I did although she was stubborn, not wanting a mate at first. It took me awhile to show her that I was her mateand my intentions were true. Of course, I really had to prove it to her since I had a history of being a ladies man. I was known around different pack's across the area of courting different women. I had just became Alpha so my popularity was known fast, they said my looks in my younger days was talked about by all the ladies. So, I couldn't help but use that to my advantage. I Introduced myself to every lady in town, it wasn't until your mom's pack joined ours, that I knew or felt that I was close to finding my mate. She was the last family of the highest royals before the Adolphian clan, her pack was called the Noshobians. They were the direct descendants created first by the Great She wolf of the moon named Mahina. They carry great power within each and every one of their line but only one can carry the greatest power given from Mahina. I couldn't believe when their pack joined ours and that all this time she was there. I later found out they were destroyed by a group of witches, that seek the power Mahina had handed it too. Legend stated Mahina has left our world because she felt no one was worthy to carry this great power but I guess the witches didn't believe us.
He stared off out the window to stare at the moon lost in thought for just a second before he captured my eyes again, smiling. "Your mother was beautiful, you resemble her so much," he said as it brought a smile to my face. When Your mother's eyes caught mine, lets just say I was hooked. Her power enthralled me, she illuminated a power around me that set me off balance. Confusion clear on my face at first but then I realized what happened. She is my mate, that powerful feeling washed over me and things became clearer. I knew then there was no one else I ever wanted but her. However, she didn't see it that way, she stood frozen in time. She seemed so shocked that her emotions quickly switched to frustration and anger as she stormed off in the crowd. My heart froze at the very moment, and I couldn't help but think that she was rejecting me. I had to know, so I quickly rushed to find her. It was then, that I discovered that she was one of the Noshobians that had lost everything to the battle with the witches. I decided to give her time to adjust to everything, before I overwhelmed her with being her mate. It was hard though, there were many days that just a daily walk, I would end up at her house. Then there were other days, her intoxicating scent found me near her. Finally, I couldn't handle it anymore, we had to meet again. I quickly ran to her house, it happened so fast. I ended up not confronting her but instead I stumbled into her father. It wasn't a stumble more like a tornado crashed into him and his front room. He just laughed at my predicament and understood what had happened. He explained how much his daughter Maire was going to be a challenge for me and all he can do was wish me the best of luck.
