Two Decades, Too Late

There was a statistic that read: "If you have not been in a long-term relationship by 22, you are more likely to not marry."
I, initially, thought when I saw that, it wasn't bad, until it scared me.
You see, I got told to focus on my grades and my career.
I fear I followed through too well, but now ask why I'm here.
I appear an aggressive independent woman, stronger alone.
My throne holds no warmth save for my own.
The bones that build a lovely bond never contrived.
I survived the desolation in the moments others thrived.
Deprived of the knowledge to endure amity
Infirmity strikes my attempts of love to enmity.
Anonymity may free my voice to speak truth.
