✦⋆✦ Leonhart, age 13 ✦⋆✦
I sat in the front seat against my choice. Usually, Phoebe sat up front when we got picked up and usually Lennox picked us up. It was so quiet, which was not normal for a car of girls. I've grown used to my sisters always being loud.
We spent an hour in the office. The principal not only suspended me for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for my so-called violent acts, I have to serve ISS on Thursday and Friday when I returned. Genevive was mad at me and didn't even try to ask for a lighter consequence. I mean the other boys get to serve two days of Iss and one of OSS since they looked beat up and I only had a busted lip....that was just by luck. If I didn't fight back, I would have been busted up more.
"Can I at least-"
"No." Genevieve hissed, not looking away from the road.
"It was self-defense!" I snapped and gasped when she pulled over, making the tires skid. She slammed the van into park and turned to face me. I moved back towards the door. Need I remind you, she slapped me once before and I don't wish to get slapped. I already hurt from being kicked the hell out of.
"Self-defense? Leonhart, you looked ready to kill! Self-defense is crossed when you plan to attack when they're already down!" She snapped.
"I was only making it where I could run before-"
"You went too far." She interrupted.
"Well, I'm sure you've done worse." I scoffed, looking away. I felt a tight grip on my chin before she yanked my face across the middle and pulled it right to her face. Why was she so angry?
♕°°♕ Genevieve POV ♕°°♕
I was trying so hard not to snap. My pregnancy hormones made it harder to not smack his mouth. I looked into his eyes. He looked at me for once with pure anger. He used to look at me with slight fear, which I hated. But anger? That I don't like either. And yeah, we've done worse, but we're trained. What I saw him doing behind the school, that wasn't the Leonhart we had gotten to know. It was like he wanted to do more than cause them harm.
"You may have thought I'd be proud of you for fighting?" I asked, to which he gave a nod. I tightened my grip on his chin and glared at him. "I'm not. I'm disappointed in you, Leonhart. You wanted to stand up for yourself, good. But the way you did it, it was too much. I don't ever want to see you fight students like that again." I let his chin go and he moved away, pulling his hoodie over his head. I yanked it down. "And when we get home, you can go to your room and begin the work the teachers gave. I'll decide your home punishment after dinner."
He nodded and pulled his hoodie back over his head. I sighed and started the car, heading home. I saw the girls watching me like a hawk. I heard a sniffle and gripped my hands on the wheel. I'll never be able to handle my baby brother crying. After all, so many years of his life was wasted with those assholes who tormented him.
"Leonhart, let's chat after we get home instead," I spoke softer, keeping my eyes forward.

"He did what!" Lennox snapped, now glaring at me from across his desk. Genevieve nodded. Why did he even have to be a part of this? Yeah, he was cool when he wanted to be, but he acted like he was my dad more than my brother by marriage. "Leonhart, you realize OSS is a big issue. It stays on your school records and-"
"Yeah, I don't care."
The room went silent. Crap! Did that come out of my mouth? I was sure I only thought it.
"Well, we do," Genevieve spoke, folding her fingers. "This weekend, you can spend it in your room, but come down for all 3 meals. You'll be summoned off and on when someone needs help with something, which you can't say no to. On the days you have OSS, you get to go with Devika to work since her job is the only one that could really allow a child to tag along."
Child? Please, I'm 13! She could of at least said teen! It didn't sound too bad about Devika. She was a fashion designer.
"Can I go to my room?" I asked, tapping my finger on my bookbag. Lennox walked over and dropped something he picked up from the printer.
"Over the next five days, I want this done." He spoke. I looked at the thick ass packet. It was front and back. I flipped it open and sighed. So, he thinks giving me more math, reading, and such was the punishment? I'll let him think he won.
"Right." I shoved it in my bookbag.
"Leonhart, I need your phone, laptop, and tablet," Genevieve spoke. Now that, that got to me. I powered my phone off and already had a pen set. I took the laptop and tablet out of my book bag. I should probably leave them home since people tend to attack me and my poor bookbag.
"You can go." Lennox spoke next. I turned to leave and darted up the stairs. Once I got to my room, I saw my closet door close. I sighed. One of my cousins? Or sister? Trying to scare me is so childish. I closed my bedroom door and flung the closet open, only to get grabbed.
What the hell? I struggled to get whoever had a hand over my mouth off of me.
"Shhhh!" I knew that voice. I stopped struggling and looked over.
"Gavin!" I snapped as he let me go. "How the hell did you get in here!"
"That's not important." He stated, turning the walk-in closet light on. He looked beat up...
"What happened to you?" I raised a voice.
"That's not important." He repeated. I sighed and sat down. I'm too tired for more drama today. "I came to say sorry about the guys." I glanced up at him. Why was he sorry? Not like he did it. "I took care of them." He whispered next, sitting down. I looked at him closer. My eyes went wide. The blood on him wasn't his!
"Gavin! You didn't!" I snapped. He looked at me confused then he scoffed.
"I don't kill people, dumb ass." He sat down and leaned against the wall. He sighed. "My dad was sent to do something for Mrs De Luca. I'm not sure what, but he's been gone for 4 days. The house is....well, anyway. I got suspended right after you left. I heard the commotion and well, the principal didn't listen so I-"
"You hit her! Gavin, she's a lady and-"
"I didn't hit her!" He kicked at me and I yelped. "Shut up and let me finish!" He sat back up and crossed his arms. "I went to the boys who were laughing at how they got off easy. Since they hadn't left the school grounds, after I beat the hell out of them, I was given 4 days of OSS."
I looked at Gavin quietly. So, he beat his friends up over me? His friends? I'm not even his friend!
"You're weird," I whispered and sighed again. He laughed."Me? You're the one who is always making a scene in class. It's always over weird shit." He smirked. I rolled my eyes.
"How did you get in here? Does your dad know about-"
"He's not been answering his phone." He interrupted. "He's been gone for freaking four days like I said and he always tried to reach out to me and let me know what was up."
I nod quietly. His dad had a job from my sister? I wonder what for?
My closet door yanked open and we both froze when it just had to be Genevieve. Once again, silence filled the air. This kind of looked odd. I hope she didn't think I was doing anything in here....
"My office, both of you." She spoke walking away. I looked at Gavin who for once had a hint of fear. I smiled a little. The big bad bear is scared? Yet, he is smart to be. I know my sister won't really hurt me, but I'm family....
