**Jinx**

When we arrived home, I didn't want to get out of the truck, but I knew I really didn't have a choice.
The whole ride was this awkward silence, so breathing normally felt nearly impossible.
Despite everything.
My papa still gave Ricky a ride home, but not even he had the balls to say anything.
Maybe he could tell how serious this was.
And that only made the knot in my stomach tighten as papa put the truck in park.

We sat there in silence as papa sighed.
"Jensen, let my mate and kids know I'll be there in a minute, I need to have a talk with Jinx." He said.

"Yikes, see ya." Jackie jumped out of the truck first as Jensen sighed shaking his head before getting out next.

We sat there as my brows furrowed.
"Papa-"
"If you keep feeding from that boy, you'll turn rogue, and do you know what will happen next?" He asked me.
It was hard to swallow.
"You'll stake me?" I asked him.
Papa stared ahead.

"No, you'll be locked up for days or even weeks until you've nearly starved to death." He told me as my brows knitted.
"I know things were different for you when Kaiser was here, you fed from other vampires right?" He asked.
It was hard but I nodded sitting there as he frowned behind the wheel.
"Yeah, that's what I was afraid of, especially with you feeding at such a young age. Jinx, if you keep this up-"

"It's not my fault! I-I can't help how hungry I get papa, it just hits me out of random, I try to control it but I lose that control, that's why Ricky offered to help-"

"And I told you that ends today, you won't feed from him-"
"But-"
"JINX!" Papa whipped around glaring at me as my eyes grew wide.
He was frowning deeply at me.
"Have you forgotten that you killed an innocent kid the other day? Just because that boy says he has the strength to hold you back, doesn't necessarily mean he really does. One slip up and you'd have full power over him and next thing you know? That's another life you've taken, is that what you want? Is it?" He demanded.

Tears burned my eyes.
"N-No, papa, but I don't know what to do or how to control it." I cried in the backseat as his brows knitted, he turned back around and placed his hand on his eyes as he slid down in the seat with a frustrated groan.

We sat like that for a few minutes.
"I have a friend I'm going to have you stay with-"
"What?" Fear took over as I sat there.
"Just for him to observe you, we met right around the time Leif and I were taken, I feel like he would have more of a grasp of this situation than I do." He told me.

I sat there.
"So because things are tough, you're sending me away?" I asked him, this anger slowly starting to take over.
"What? No that's not-"
"That's exactly what you're doing." I glared getting out of the truck as he followed after me.
"Jinx, listen to me-"
"No! I fuck up once or twice and you deal with me at home, not ship me off to some stranger because it's too much for you." I growled storming into the house now, no longer feeling fear as I went to slam the door but he caught it.

"Jinx! Get back here right now!" Papa demanded.

"What is with the shouting?" Dad demanded storming into the hallway but paused seeing me with a tearful face.
"Magna, what did you do to him?" He asked, approaching me with concern as papa glared.
"Nothing, he's just upset-"

"Papa wants to ship me off to some stranger because I fucked up." I told dad whose eyes grew wide looking to papa.
"Is that true?" He asked him.
Papa glared at me.

"Mox, babe, I'm not shipping him off because I want to. I said I had a friend I wanted Jinx to go stay with, they would have a better sense than I do with this sort of thing, he would come back to us once we had an idea of why he's losing control of himself so easily." He explained.
