**Jinx**

I needed a shower after that nightmare.
My throat was also insanely dry.
But according to Darius, he intended to starve me for three days.
I looked out the window and let out a heavy sigh.

Looking in Cerberus's direction, he was still fast asleep, even after my outburst from a moment ago.
Frowning, I got up from the bed and made my way to the door.
My brows were furrowing as I placed my hand on the knob.
Inhaling sharply, I twisted the knob to only find it unlocked.
I looked over my shoulder to Cerberus before quietly pushing open the door.

I thought that was a holding cell or something..?
Looking around, I realized I knew where absolutely nothing was.
I felt like a sitting duck as I made my way down the hall.
Cradling myself from how cold it was, I frowned deeply looking to each door, but none of them felt like they would lead me to a shower.

"Can't we just kill him and tell the parents he turned into a monster or something?" I heard someone ask in another room.
It made my blood boil because that voice belonged to Davon.

"No, I gave Magna Grimes my word that I would help that boy, even if he lacks severe discipline." Darius responded and it made me stop dead in my tracks.
"He's another problem we really don't need right now, especially with that other boy living here now. They're the same, Darius." Davon growled at the other.
"There's a reason behind that, but for now, all I request is that you behave yourself." Darius said and it sounded like he was standing up.

I took a step back from the door with furrowed brows.
"When Jagger returns, can we make this his problem, I mean he is-"
"That's enough, Davon, these walls can hear you and I really don't need another headache, plus I just got Hyna to sleep." He told the other.

"That's my other issue Darius, you're babying that cambion too much, it's making you soft." Davon commented.
"That cambion is my mate, Davon, I suggest you watch yourself when you talk about him." He told Davon pulling open the door.

It took me by surprise because I fell back and landed right on my ass with a hiss that followed.

"Well, this is interesting, Davon, I thought you locked that door?" Darius questioned, his eyes locked on me as I glared at him.
"I did, someone must have unlocked it." Davon responded.

"Or you just suck at your job." I hissed at him.
Davon's eye twitched, "what was that?" He stepped towards me but Darius stopped him.

"You left that room on your own, you could have ran home, so why are you here?"  Darius arched a brow at me.
I frowned deeply at him.
"I need a shower, and I want the nightmares to stop." I told him.

Darius blinked before chuckling, "oh is that so?" He questioned.
I glared at him.
"Yes, if you let me shower, I'll go back to that room, but I want to get this sweat off of me first." I frowned.
Darius nodded.
"Fine, I'll allow it-"

"Darius, what about his punishment?" Davon growled.
Darius smiled at him and Davon stepped back.

"Go check on Hyna, I don't trust you alone with our guest, especially with that bloodlust of yours rising." He told Davon who glared before throwing his hands up, storming away from the two of us.

Darius glanced to me.
"You mentioned nightmares, how often do those occur?" He questioned motioning for me to follow him.
Hesitating, I did with crossed arms.
"Probably for as long as I can remember, I've never had a decent dream.. not as a kid, or now, even if I'm safe with my new family. But tonight, the dream felt more real." I glared looking away.

Darius arched a brow.
"Explain the dream to me." He told me.
I frowned at him before looking around.
"I made it home, fixed and everything, my family welcomed me home.. and these two massive headaches also appeared, Dorian wanted me to feed from him and Ricky kept pressing it.. so I finally did, but I killed Dorian and went after Ricky next." I frowned with my face growing hot.

"Are they your mates?" He questioned.
"Hell no." I growled but stopped as Darius frowned at me.
Rolling my eyes, I sighed.
"I don't know what they want, after I killed a kid at my school, Ricky saw it happen and took advantage of that, and Dorian's liked me since I started school." I frowned.

"You killed someone?" Darius arched a brow at me.
I looked away, frowning deeply.
"It was an accident, I keep getting really hungry and my brain shuts off the moment I bite someone. I can't control it and-"

"That is why you are here, Jinx, to learn how to control it." Darius told me.
"And what if I can't control it? What if this whole thing ends up wasting our time?" I demanded.

Darius sighed softly.
"It won't be a waste if you actually work with me, you won't be fully fixed but it'll be enough to cure that starving feeling you get from the scent of blood." He explained.
I frowned at him.
"But what happens if I act out? What if I hurt someone again?"
"You won't.-"
"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?!" I yelled with tears in my eyes as I glared harshly at him.

Darius frowned at me.
"What made you so full of anger this young? Who hurt you this bad?" He asked me, his voice was actually soft as I stood there with knitted brows.
Tears burning my eyes as I looked away.
"It doesn't matter-"
"It does, when it comes to controlling hunger, you also have to learn to control your anger, who hurt you, Jinx?" He questioned.

I looked back at him with a flushed face and his expression was surprised.
"Let's hold off the shower and step outside, some fresh air might be what you need." He told me, turning us around and walked down a new hallway.
"I don't need fresh air, plus it's still night-"
"In my garden, you don't need light." Darius said bringing us to a door, before pushing it open and my eyes were wide.

There were glowing flowers everywhere.
It was insane from how calm it made me feel.

"When you are ready, I'll be here to listen, but first, calm yourself down and soak in the gardens natural calming abilities." Darius told me.

I looked around with wide eyes, it was so beautiful in here, there was so much peace.
I closed my eyes and inhaled sharply but breathed out slowly.

"I came from a bad family, my parents, Charon and Selene.. they hated me from the start, especially Charon, he didn't claim me as his because I was different.. and Selene, she barely gave me any attention, it was my brother, Kaiser who really cared for me." I frowned softly looking at the glowing white roses.

"Or well, I thought he cared for me, he killed our parents and we ran.. I followed him everywhere and became his little soldier, I did as he commanded and did my best not to screw up." My face grew warm.
"And then he introduced me to his right hand, Rogue, at first things were fine.. But behind Kaiser's back, Rogue started mentally and physically abusing me." My brows furrowed as I looked away.
"He was a monster towards me, and it soon lead to sexual assault and then rape." Tears slipped as I glared harshly.

"Kaiser had no idea, despite the bruises and how angry I was becoming, he ignored me because he had to take care of his clan, his followers.. but then finally, I had enough, Rogue got angry at me and chased me into a room and that's when I shut my emotions off." I stared blankly at the flowers now.
"I slaughtered him in cold blood, and ate him, that's when my brother finally noticed I changed. I became his weapon when I no longer felt anything, but the night he was trying to get Omega back, I was taken and Kaiser never once fought to get me back. I was just lost baggage for letting myself get taken." I looked up at the starry sky despite how bright the flowers glowed.

"And now the one person who I thought cherished me the most, is dead, and I don't miss him." I looked at Darius with furrowed brows.

"I miss the family who rescued me from that hell, who treated me like I was actually someone, even though I'm a hothead, they never once beat me, they grounded me like a normal teenager.. and now that my emotions are back on, I keep feeling all kinds of things, and it's mostly anger and frustrations, because I want to be happy, I want to love like my family loves me, but I'm terrified my ghosts from the past are going to catch up and I'm going to lose it all, all over again." I told him.

Darius stood there, his arms crossed.
"First off all, moving forward, we're going to forget all about Kaiser and the deceased ones who raised you, secondly." Darius walked up to me, placing a hand on my shoulder as he smiled softly.
"You are not going to lose anything, I will help you overcome that uncontrollable hunger, so you can go back home to that family, and if you are willing to work on that anger of yours. I will end that three day penalty." He told me.

My eyes were wide looking at him.
"Just like that?" I asked.
Darius nodded.
"Just like that, as long as you work on your emotions. The two of us really did have a bad first impression of each other, and I would like a new start, how about you?" He asked offering his hand to me.
I studied his hand before looking back at him.
"Yeah." I agreed shaking his hand.

Darius smiled softly.
"Very good, we're already off to a fresh start, now let me show you to the shower because you really do stink." He joked as I rolled my eyes but followed after the other.
------
"There will be a fresh pair of clothes on the counter once you're done." Darius told me as I nodded, closing the door as he walked out.

Turing, I went to the shower and ran the water, watching the steam building up as I undressed and stepped inside.
The water was hot but it was enough to relax me as I leaned my head back, soaking in the steam as I closed my eyes

Darius seemed like a trusting guy, more trusting than that Davon person did.
He really did not like me, but I wasn't here to make friends, even though part of me wanted to get Cerberus out of here.
I don't know what was drawing me to him, or why I wanted him to leave with me.
Maybe it'll make sense later.

Stepping out of the shower, my eyes fell on the fresh clothes as I walked over after drying off and changed into them.
----
Walking down the hall and back to the bedroom, I sighed softly pulling open the door and stepped inside.
Cerberus was already awake with his eyes on the book from earlier.

"Oh, so I guess you realized the door was never locked?" He asked me.
I blinked.
"Wait, you knew it wouldn't be?" I arched a brow.
Cerberus looked up from his book, a small playful grin tugging at his lips.

"Davon is sort of a moron when it comes to locking doors, he thinks he locks it but he always twists it wrong so it never remains locked." Cerberus shrugged.
"I've walked around a few times, I just wanted to see if you would figure it out." He grinned.
My eye twitched in response.

"Well it didn't take long, because I needed a shower." I rolled my eyes before walking over to the bed.
Cerberus watched me.
"That was a long shower-"
"Me and Darius talked first, he showed me the garden." I told him.
Cerberus's brows furrowed.
"His special garden?" He asked.

I blinked but nodded.
"Yeah with the glowing flowers, he called it a natural calming garden-"
"It also heals the mind, but that's surprising, I don't even think he's brought his own mate into that garden." Cerberus cut me off as my brows furrowed.

"Maybe there's a reason for it, either way, I think the two of us came to an understanding." I said pulling the covers over my body as Cerberus frowned at me.
"First day and you've already been shown the garden and had your penalty canceled, you are an interesting one." Cerberus yawned closing his book and turned the light on the stand off.

I laid there frowning.
"I wouldn't call myself interesting." I commented.
"Oh no? Mr. Potty mouth who has anger issues, but whimpers in his sleep? You are definitely what I would call, interesting." Cerberus smirked pulling his own covers up.

"Goodnight, Jinx."
I glared at him with a flushed face before turning away from the other.

"Goodnight, Cerberus."
