**Jinx**

I stared at my phone for the longest, knowing I owed Dorian a phone call, despite how pissed him and Ricky made me yesterday before I left.
Just thinking about it made that headache threaten to return.
I looked to the other empty bed, wondering where Cerberus had disappeared to.
He was gone when I woke up.

Sucking in some air, I pressed dial while sitting on the bed and listened to the phone ring.
In seconds, there was an answer.

{"Jinx?"}
"Hey." I greeted the other trying not to let my emotions get the best of me, just from hearing the others voice.
{"How did your first night go, are you okay?"} He asked me.
I frowned, getting to my feet as I made my way to the window and looked out of it.
"It could have gone better, my temper got the best of me, but I really don't know how you're supposed to react to staying in a home full of demons." I responded.

{"Hold on.. demons? Those exist?"} I could tell he was frowning as I watched Darius step outside of the house, Davon and Zola were with him, this car drove up and a man was stepping out.
It made my brows furrow.

"Yeah, it was news to me, I didn't respond in the best way and the man in charge here was going to starve me for three days." I yawned into the phone.
{"What?! Do you want me to tell your parents?"} He was angry, his tone told me that.
"No, it's fine, after I got in trouble, we ended up having a talk later that night and we're trying this again." I leaned against the wall frowning softly.
"I don't want to be here." I told him.

{"Want me to come break you out?"} He offered and it made me smile a bit.
"You're always trying to find ways to win me over, but no, I need to do this. It's the safest option right now." I looked to the door frowning as it slowly opened, and in walked Zola.

She stood there, her eyes fell on my phone first and waited patiently for me to get off.

{"If you say so-- Jinx, listen, about the three-"}
"We can talk about that later, I have someone waiting, I just mainly wanted to hear your voice. I'm sorry for sounding selfish, I'll talk to you soon." I said before hanging up first.

My eyes fell on Zola who smiled softly at me.
"Sorry to interrupt that, if Master Darius wasn't waiting on you I would have came back." She told me.
I shook my head.
"It's fine." I said following the black haired demon out of the room.

"Do you know where Cerberus is?" I questioned walking next to her.
Zola glanced to me.
"He went into town with Marcel." She answered as I frowned.
"That's allowed?" I asked.
Zola blinked before smiling as she looked ahead.
"For someone as angry as they were yesterday, your attitude has definitely changed from over night, but only with Darius's approval can you go. You're not in Crossroads anymore, you are in a demon town, known as Cross Haven." She told me.

I frowned at that.
"I had no idea-"
"We like to stay hidden, the less more know about us, the better. The last thing we need is a big fight breaking out because wolves or vampires are feeling threatened by demons." She explained.
I looked to her.
"Why would they feel threatened?" I frowned.
Zola looked to me.
"Because we're superior when it comes to strength, plus we control what they cannot, unless they're born gifted." She shrugged.
My brows furrowed.
"What you control..?"

Zola paused and turned to me, she clasped her hands together before slowly opening them and sparks of fire ignited inside of her hands.
"We control the elements, plus other special abilities if we're blessed." She explained.
I stared in awe before looking at her.
"Using the word, blessed, sounds ironic considering you're a demon." I pointed out.

Zola blinked before she smiled softly.
"I suppose it does, come, we've wasted enough time." She told me, motioning for me to follow her into the main hall.

"I was beginning to wonder if you got lost, Zola." Darius commented looking at her, a boy who looked like he was around my age, stood next to Darius, his black eyes were locked on her before they fell on me.
I felt stiff for a moment, before I looked away first.

"I apologize master Darius." Zola frowned as Darius smiled softly.
"It's fine, you're both here. Jinx, step forward, there is someone I would like you to meet." He told me.

I looked to Zola confused as she stepped aside and I cautiously approached the other.
Darius looked to the left of him, and out walked the man I saw earlier.
Before my eyes grew wide.

"It's you!" I growled at the black haired man with black eyes, he stood there looking confused for a moment before snapping his fingers at me.
"Ah, it's the problem child." He shot as my eyes grew wide.

"You know him, Jagger?" Darius questioned, obviously amused looking at the other.
Jagger ran a hand through his hair.
"Yeah, I ran into him at one of those bars in that vampire wolf town." He shrugged.

"He's awfully young to be in a bar, you weren't preying on him, were you Jag?" Marcel teased playfully.
Jagger's eye twitched.
"Definitely not, and last I checked? I prefer women." His eyes fell on Darius.
"No offense." He told the other.

Darius shrugged with a grin.
"I take no offense to that Jagger, you like what you like." He replied as his eyes fell on me.

"The reason I called for you to come and meet Jagger, is because he is the best when it comes to controlling hunger. Now, I'm not saying the rest of us cannot control ours, but Jagger is the strongest." Darius said.

Jagger's brows furrowed.
"You're flattering me, Darius, what am I getting out of helping the problem child?" He asked.

I glared at him.
"Stop calling me that." I growled.
Jagger turned to me, his expression hardened.
"What would you prefer I call you? From our first encounter that night, you were nothing but a problem." He shrugged.
I glared harshly.
"You don't know me! I was going through shit-"

"Jinx." Darius cut me off as I looked at him and my face grew warm looking away, frustrated.

"Already a day and you've almost muzzled him." Davon commented with a yawn, leaning against the wall with crossed arms.

"I'll muzzle you." I growled.
Davon stood up straight.
"Oh, is that right?" He stepped towards me but Darius raised his hand, stopping the other from moving forward.

"Enough, Jinx, behave yourself." Darius told me as I glared before looking away from the other.

"Darius, what am I getting out of this?" Jagger repeated himself.
Darius turned to the other.
"Some information I'm sure you'd be interested to hear about, but first, I'd like you to work with Jinx." He told him.
Jagger frowned.
"I swear if the information is a waste of time, I will be done doing you favors." He responded.
Darius smiled at that.
"Trust me my friend, it won't be a waste of time." He told him.

Jagger studied the other before sighing.
"Alright, fine, I'll take on the brat." He walked up to me as I glared at him.
"It may kill the boredom I've been feeling lately." He said walking ahead of me.

I blinked looking to Darius who motioned for me to follow after the other.
Frowning, I followed after Jagger as the two of us walked outside.

There were nothing but trees.

"Where are we?" I questioned looking around.
"Cross Haven, this house is the only one isolated from town, lets go." He said as I followed him down the stairs and into the trail that led to the woods.

"How is being out here going to teach me to control my hunger?" I asked frowning.
Jagger sighed.
"Man, you're annoying." He responded as I glared harshly.
"I'm asking a question-"
"Yeah and I heard it, but stop talking until we get there. You're a chatter box and I am not sober enough for it just yet." He told me.
I glared.
"You're drunk?"
"On blood, yeah." Jagger yawned walking further into the woods.

We made it into what seemed like a clearing as I looked around.

"Close your eyes." Jagger instructed as I frowned but closed them as I listened.
"Now, I want you to clear your mind, of everything that makes you mad." He told me.
I balled my fists.
"I want you to imagine you're out with friends, but someone gets cut and you can smell their blood." Jagger began and my brows knitted.
"What is your first thought?" He asked me.

"I want to eat-"
"No." Jagger cut me off.
"We do not eat our friends, that's unforgivable." He told me.
My brows furrowed.
"Now, imagine the cut is deeper than they expected and the blood is flowing." Jagger continued.

My throat was dry at the thought.
I could feel cold sweat as I stood there.
"How do you respond?" He asked me.
"I.. I can't answer that." I answered honestly.

"You're starving and there's an injured person walking down the alley, no one is around, what do you do?" Jagger asked.

"I kill them!" I yelled with a flushed face.
"I drain them completely before feasting on their flesh and I-"

My eyes grew wide at how fast Jagger's hand connected to my face, frowning deeply at me.
"You have no self control, do you know what would happen if you did that in this town, or any town?" Jagger asked glaring at me now.
I stood there, holding my cheek.
"They would kill you." Jagger growled at me.

I glared back.
"Well maybe that's what I need, to be killed!" I yelled at him.
"I mean I'm apparently this fucking self destructive monster, who just found out he's part fucking demon. I've literally had no teacher showing me how to act, because up until yesterday morning I thought I was a vampire who fed from other vampires, so yeah, if you think killing me will save you the headache. If you think it will save EVERYONE from dealing with me, KILL ME!" I screamed at him before losing my breath the moment he slammed me into the ground.

A dagger at my throat as he glared harshly at me.

"If you were any other demon, I would have beheaded your little ass the moment you started yelling at me." Jagger growled.
"But because you're under Darius's care, I can't." He got off of me, standing to his feet as he glared at me.

"You think your life is so bad, is that what you think?" Jagger asked me.
I glared with a flushed face.
"You don't know what I went through growing up, I had shitty parents who hated me the moment I was born, I was half raised by a brother who had no idea his younger brother was being abused and raped behind closed doors, and the moment he saw me eating someone? I was used as a weapon. I was saved by the Grimes family, but I still fuck up because that's what I am! I can't control my hunger, so if I'm going to waste your time. Kill me and tell Darius I attacked you, tell my parents I self destructed and only thought about myself. Because I am NOTHING but a misfortune to have around." I stood there, glaring harshly before this coolness rolled down my cheeks.

Jagger stood there, rubbing his temples before letting out a heavy sigh.
"I can't deal with this right now, we'll try again tomorrow-"
"What?" I glared.
"Sleep." He growled snapping his fingers at me and just like that.

My legs became jello and I was collapsing onto the ground.

**Original Pov**

Jagger walked down the trail, carrying Jinx who honestly felt as light as a feather.
Does this kid not eat real food?
It bothered him a little as the house came into view.
He was going to confront Darius as soon as he could.

"Jagger? Oh my, did you kill him?" Marcel questioned the other playfully.
Jagger looked to the brunette.
"No, I made him sleep, the brat was having a complete melt down, I can't deal with that right now." He told her.
Marcel arched a brow.
"Apparently he's an emotional time bomb, definitely have your work cut out for you." She told him.
It made Jagger's eye twitch as he walked down the hall, into that room where both Jinx and Cerberus slept.

Cerberus sat on the bed, his eyes meeting Jagger's before they fell on Jinx.
"Is he-"
"Asleep, I need to speak with Darius." Jagger said laying Jinx down, studying the others tear stained face before sighing as he walked back out of the room.

Jagger walked down the hall and up the stairs, his eyes fell on the large door before knocking as he let himself in.

It was just Darius, Davon and Hyna.

"That was fast." Davon commented.
"Did he fail or did you kill him?" Davon grinned.
Jagger looked at the blond before his eyes fell on Darius.

"You owe me a conversation, Darius." He completely ignored Davon who glared.
Darius studied the other before looking to Hyna.

"Go to our room, I'll be there shortly, and Davon? Go make yourself useful and have the cooks whip something up, the two of us need to talk." Darius told the two.

Davon rolled his eyes as Hyna nodded, quietly leaving as Jagger watched them before looking at Darius.

"Tell me the truth, why the hell am I training that boy?" He asked.
Darius smiled at him.
"You are the only one who can help him-"
"Cut the crap Darius, you pulled the same stunt when you told me about Eleni." Jagger glared.

"You told me she needed someone for her bad health, and the moment my son was born, she was taken from me. And then I was introduced to Selene who ran off with that bastard." Jagger glared at Darius who stood to his feet, smiling at the other.

"Have you connected the puzzle yet?" He asked him.
Jagger glared.
"Puzzle?"
Darius smiled.
"Eleni and Selene both had sons, I know you feel the connection, you're not that stupid." He said.

Jagger frowned at him.
"Are you saying...?"

Darius smiled at him.

"Cerberus and Jinx are your sons."
