**Dorian**

"I hate mating season." Levy grumbled next to me as we stood outside in the parking lot before school started.
I glanced to the vampire.
"Why?" I dared to question the blonde.
"Because everyone becomes so needy and the heat that comes off everyone's bodies affects you." She groaned.
"Doesn't it just give you a chance to find someone?" I questioned.
Levy rolled her blue eyes.
"It only gives you a chance to get knocked up, I mean, omegas have it worse than us. All alphas have to do is use their weird pheromone magic, and suddenly an omega is underneath them." She shrugged.

"Yikes, is that really how you see us alphas?" We turned to a familiar voice.

Asher stood there with Mateo and Beau.

Levy sized the other up.
"Yeah actually, if you want a specific omega and they don't want you, you use those weird pheromones and make the omega drunk, making them unable to resist you." She argued.

"WHOA okay." Mateo laughed.
"I don't know what world you're living in where you see alphas as arrogant rapists, but those don't exist here." He argued.
Levy glared, "what about Ambrose Gibson or Denver Gilmore?" She demanded.

Mateo went to speak but stopped himself as he looked to Asher who was rubbing the side of his neck.
"Ambrose is working on himself, Denver is a lost cause, so I can't really defend him." He shrugged.

Levy rolled her eyes.
"Yeah typical, you say you're not the same, but didn't you use your pheromones against Quin?" She asked glaring.

Mateo looked dumbstruck as Beau facepalmed.

Asher was frowning now.
"To show dominance, omegas tend to forget their place-"
"And that's where you're shutting up." Beau smiled at Asher who glared but kept quiet.

"Why are you picking fights with alphas anyway?" I asked Levy who glared.
"Because they're the lowest of the low, and they should know it." She glared at Asher and Mateo.
"To force omegas to want you-"

"No one is forcing anyone to be with these idiots." I heard Quin speak up as he walked up to the group, his brows furrowed.
"We choose to be with them, because they make us somewhat happy." He teased Asher who watched him before his eyes fell on Levy.

Levy glared at Quin who blinked before glaring back.
"You have something else to add?" He challenged her as Levy glared harshly.

"No, because your small omega brain couldn't handle it." She shrugged.

"Whoa, Levy, knock it off." I growled at her.
Levy glared.
"You know what? Ever since you started gushing over that broken vampire, and have been screwing that other nutcase, you've became a different person. It's no wonder why Rhett and the others left, I only stayed around because I felt bad, but if you're going to defend the dogs, then that's where you belong." Levy told me before storming off.

I stood there before running a hand through my hair as I leaned against the bike, staring at the concrete for a moment.

"They call it Monday for a reason." Quin rubbed his upper arm.
"But are you okay? She was pretty harsh." He frowned looking at me.

I blinked before looking at him.
"Oh yeah, this isn't the first time any of them have got heated and abandoned me." I rubbed the side of my neck.
"What she said was immature and childish, she was picking a fight for no reason, so I'm sorry on her behalf-"

"Don't be." Asher rolled his eyes.
"Those weren't your words coming out of your mouth, so you shouldn't apologize. Is it true though, are you and Ricky really together?" He asked me.

I stared before rubbing the side of my neck.
"We're making it work for Jinx's sake, he wants to try because he refuses to feed from me and since him and Ricky started it together, that's why Jinx wants to try this poly relationship." I shrugged.

"Do you want it though?" Beau asked with his brow arched.
"According to Oakley, it's not for everyone. I mean him and August were together forever, and now that Iggy is carrying August's kid and not Lawless's like planned, it's crashing their relationship and the four of them are mated." He explained.

I frowned softly with crossed arms.
"That does sound like a huge mess, but with Jinx and Ricky, I don't really see us crashing.. Plus, its hard for vampires to get pregnant without some type of high blood vampire around that can make it happen, so its safe to say if we stay together and get mated, adoption will be our safest option." I said rubbing the side of my neck, feeling awkward.

Quin looked at me.
"Have you heard from Jinx?" He asked.
I nodded with crossed arms.
"Yeah, apparently he has a half brother and his real dad is where he's located, another big mess but Jinx said he's coming home in three days." I felt excited hearing myself say it out loud.
In three days.
Jinx would be home and I would get to hold him.

Quin stared before nodding.
"We don't talk much, given our relationship, but how's it going to go with the half brother?" He asked me.
I could only shrug.
"Jinx wants him to come home with him, but he also thinks that's a selfish move considering they just reunited with their real dad, so there's a chance his brother is staying in Cross Haven." I explained.

Quin frowned softly.
"I really don't know how our parents would react to Jinx bringing someone home, but at the same time, they keep adding room for more beds." He rolled his eyes.

"As soon as you graduate, we're getting our own place." Asher told Quin with a grin who blinked but smiled softly.
"It can't be too far from them, the twins will be upset and so will Omega." He told the other.
Asher nodded.

I stood there feeling awkward as Mateo looked to me.
"You know, since your friends are kinda shitty, you could always hang out with us." He suggested.

Beau looked surprised at the other as I frowned at him.
"Thanks, but I don't think you guys want a vampire-"

"Don't even finish that sentence." Quin told me.
"My home is a mix of vampires and wolves, my brother is mated to an alpha and he's a vampire. I'm surprised Mateo was the one to suggest it, but yeah, you're more than welcome to hang out with us." He shrugged.
"You are into my brother and even though he won't admit it to your face, I know he's into you too." He smirked softly.

I blinked before rubbing the side of my neck.
"What about Ricky?" I asked.
Quin blinked before making a face which made me smile a little.
"I mean I guess he can hang around us if he's in the area." He said scratching his neck.
"If I didn't know better, I'd say it almost seems like you hate him." I pointed out.

Quin frowned at me.
"He's a dick, that's all, I mean Leif almost died when him and Felix went to the full moon party. I know Ricky wasn't a part of the shoving incident, but him just being there had me irritated, and he also makes or made Jinx mad a lot up until recently. I just feel indifferent towards him right now." Quin crossed his arms with furrowed brows.

I nodded.
"That's understandable, I have moments like that as well, especially from how him and Jinx acted in the beginning." I shrugged.

When the bell rang, I felt my phone buzz.

"Is it Jinx?" Quin asked as I nodded.
Quin smiled softly.
"Tell the asshole I said hey." He said as the four of them walked ahead towards the building.

"Hey." I greeted the other on the phone.
{"Hey, has class started yet?"} Jinx questioned.
"The first bell rang, but I don't mind being late to class, is everything okay?" I asked.
{"Yeah.. I'm just ready to be home, three days is going to feel like another two months."} He complained into the phone as I smiled softly.
"It'll be here faster than you know it." I told him.
{"I hope.. Are you and Ricky still getting along?"} He questioned.

I looked at the building.
"You mean have I killed him yet? No." I answered and I heard a soft chuckle in response.
{"Good, are you still okay with this relationship? I mean.. you're not just doing it because I requested it, right?"}
I bit my gum on that one.
"I think it'll be easier once you're here, right now it feels like I'm dating Ricky and I hate you're not here." I frowned softly.
{"I hate I'm not there, I would have been last month if I hadn't messed up, but Darius has seen massive changes in me, so as a reward. He's letting me come home."} He sounded excited.
It made me smile softly.

"What about your half brother? Have you talked more about that?" I questioned.
{"Cerberus is stuck on staying or leaving with me. I haven't even brought it up to my parents yet, I know it's a lot to ask, but I think Cerberus is wanting to leave with me because of our bond.. plus, with me being half demon, he doesn't want me to be alone."} He explained.

"I keep forgetting you're not a full vampire." I frowned softly.
{"Is that a turn off for you?"} Jinx asked me.
"Absolutely not, it's just strange, but I like you for who you are, not what you are." I told him.
{"I appreciate that.. I don't want you to be late for class, so I'll talk to you after and I'll see you in three days."} He told me.
It made my chest squeeze tight but I let out a soft sigh.
"I'll see you soon Jinx." I said before hearing the other hang up first.

I let out a heavy sigh now before my eyes widened.
"Shit!"

I re-dialed Jinx's number who only took a second to respond.

{"Yes..?"}

"Quin said hey." I said with a grin on my face, I almost forgot.
{"..."}
{"Tell that asshole I said fuck off."}
He told me.
I smiled softly.
"I will, goodbye."
{"...Bye."} He hung up and that unwanted weight of sadness returned.

I walked into the building and headed straight for class.
I needed the next three days to fly by.
But knowing my luck.
They were going to drag.

I was also still bothered by what Levy said.
It made sense why Rhett and the others stopped talking to me.
I was just too focused on Jinx to even pay attention.
But at the same time.
It made me realize how they weren't even real friends.
---------
In the cafeteria, I sat alone with my face in my hands as I kept my eyes closed.
I wondered what Jinx's brother was like, if he was a full demon, I suppose he would be good to have around for Jinx, especially if Jinx had an episode.
It also made me wonder if Jinx would even need Ricky's blood anymore after he returned, and if he did, would we even need Ricky?

I laced my fingers together and groaned softly.
I would be lying to myself if I said he wasn't growing on me a little, but would the three of us actually be good for each other?
Or would we crash and burn like Iggy's group is?

I looked up and those thoughts vanished when I saw Ricky walking into the cafeteria with Malik English and Jules Dudley, he was laughing at something but seeing him look happy made my brain go to mush.
He actually looked cute when he wasn't acting like a complete dick.

Maybe we could make this work.
And I know it's going to take A LOT of work, between Jinx's mood swings and Ricky's charming personality, somehow, I feel like it would make our relationship more interesting.

I sat there before watching Ricky saying something to his friends, before walking in my direction.
We've had sex a few times now, but I still wasn't sure how to approach him in a wanting way, I need to change that, especially if Jinx is wanting this to also work.

"You look alive for once, I'm guessing you talked with Jinx?" Ricky took a seat and pulled out his lunch from his bag.
I nodded.
"He'll be home in three days." I told the other.
Ricky stared before opening his bag of potato chips.
"Two months later." He grumbled.
It made the corners of my lips curve into a small grin.

"Don't tell me that you miss him." I teased.
Ricky looked up from his chips, arching a brow.
"You're being annoying, also your face is being weird, stop it." He told me.
I blinked.
"What's it doing?"
"You look happy that I'm sitting here, stop smiling." He glared as I stared before smirking softly as I leaned in towards him.

"I am happy you're sitting here." I told him.

And for the first time, in years of knowing this dick of a person.
He did the one thing I never expected.

Ricky blushed.

Oh shit. Oh shit. OH SHIT.

I DO LIKE HIM.
