Ben's POV:
"Mine!" My wolf thought. "All mine!" So this is what it was like to have a mate. My wolf and I had never been happier than we were while holding my beautiful Calla in the river. She had the sweetest blush, but I couldn't figure out what set it off. "Hi beautiful." I said. She gave me a very love stricken gaze that pleased my wolf and said in the sweetest voice imaginable, "Hey Ben." She looked so beautiful with the sun shining through her wet brown hair. And her eyes just about killed me. A deep aqua color that stood out against her tan skin. She was so cute and small. Perfect for holding and cuddling. "Do you want to go for a run?" I asked her. "What pack do you belong to" She asked. I was offset by the question. I thought she would've known who I was because most wolves did. Having one of the biggest packs in America usually had that advantage. What all should I tell her? Who am I kidding. This was my Luna. Better start from the beginning. "My name is Benjamin Loun, I am 17 years old and I am the Alpha of the Black Sea Pack. We have 26 members out of an original 30. My Beta used to be a wonderful man named Lucas but he died when we were attacked by rouges. My new Beta is named Kyle, he's 19. He'll be very kind to you, everyone will. And I promise you that you will be a wonderful Luna." I took in her reactions as I told her this. She seemed shocked, confused, and happy all at the same time. "So would you like to tell me who you are, mate?" I smiled at her. She smiled back and replied, "My name is Calla Johnson, I am the daughter of John Johnson," - I smirked at the name and she scowled. I apologized and asked her to continue. She sighed and did exactly that. "And Lisa Johnson. I am a member of the mountain Ridge pack and I am 16. I have no idea what a Luna is and I barely knew that there were other packs around us. I'm sorry to hear about your Beta, and I don't know what that is either. As you can probably tell, I'm very new to the whole wolf thing." She finished. I was stunned. I had a lot of explaining to do.
I spent the next two hours with Calla answering he questions and explaining her future with me. I told her that she would be my Luna, which meant that she would help me lead my pack. I also explained to her about Betas being the next in line should the Alpha ever pass away. I told her of all the existing packs in America, there were 5. The Mountain Ridge pack, the Black Sea pack, The Desert pack, The Midwest pack and the East Sea pack. Mine was the largest next to the Midwest pack. She seemed to accept all of it pretty well. When she asked what would become of her pack with her gone and I told her how the eldest male would take over with his mate when her father stepped down. She took all of it rather well. "Will you be sad to leave your family?" I asked her. I didn't want to make her do anything she wasn't ready to. We were both so young, and she was so innocent that it was sexy. "Of course I will. But so much has changed since March that I could believe dragons exist." I smiled and decided to play her. "They do, Angle." She looked at me skeptically. I held up my hands in innocence."They do! My pack, many years ago, fought one to gain our territory." She dropped her jaw in amazement and I just couldn't contain it any longer. I burst out laughing. She punched my arm and laughed with me at my joke. She definitely had my sense of humor. "You shouldn't poke fun at me. I'm new at this." She said with a playful scowl. "That's why it's fun angle." I was still laughing. Man, I hadn't been this happy in a year. It was amazing what Calla could do in such a short amount of time.
After asking each other countless questions for another hour, we went on a run through my territory and hers. All the while we chased, played, and swam. It was fantastic. I never wanted to be parted form her. She looked so beautiful in wolf form. Milk chocolate brown with contrasting aqua eyes. She acted like a puppy. Which was why I was so surprised at her question. "Can we spend the night together?" I considered this. I had no pack business after finally telling the elders that I would hold off on war. "Sure. Would you like me to come over?" It was normal for the mates to meet the packs before mating or marking. "Yeah, that would be nice." she said. I asked her if she new about mating and marking and she thankfully said yes. "Good," I thought to myself. "That excuses me from a lot of explaining." We were left in an intense silence as we stared into each others eyes. We gradually leaned closer until our lips were together. We kissed for a while and when we broke apart, we realized that it was dusk. Dang, I really felt like I was in my own little world with Calla. "You ready for me to meet your pack?" I asked her. "Yeah, for sure." she said as she smiled. "Time to shine." I thought to myself. After I kissed her one more time, we bounded off into the woods and into our future together.
