Calla's POV:
The past month has been calm thankfully. It took another two weeks for me to heal completely and I still have a few scars. The pack recovered nicely from the attack and was very happy to see me baxk in commission. Ben seemed to be the happiest though. Our relationship had been going smoothly as well. Extremely well as a matter of fact. Ever since my pack visited and bryn dropped the news of her engagement, Ben and I had talked about if we would ever get married. Even the kids we would have. But none of it had been serious. Only imagining it for the distant future.
It took some time for me to get over Ashley's death. Afterall, she had been as close to me as Bryn at one point. But my grieving period had passed, and now she was just a sad memory.
I thought about all of this as I dragged my butt out of bed to go find Ben, who had been missing from his side of the bed. I put on some pj pants and went to the bathroom to make myself at least a little bit presentable. After brushing my hair and throwing it into a messy bun, I walked out to the hall and followed it to one of our kitchens. He waa absent from it, but the coffee pot was not. I grabbed a mug that was fit for a giant and filled it to the top before continuing my search. I found more of the pack in the living room and greeted them. "God, where is this boy?" I thought to myself.
After searching the entire house, I still couldn't find him. After giving up, I decided to go for a run. I walked outside to the chilly morning air and shifted. I trotted to the woods and then started to sprint. I scented the air while I enjoyed the feeling of my muscles stretching more with every stride. I loved the clean and crisp smell that the air held. I stopped abruptly when I smelled something off. Testing the air again, I recognized the scent and started to follow it. It lead me down to the River that separated my pack and my family's. Sitting on a ledge overlooking it was a big black wolf. I shifted as I neared him and sighed. "Ben, what are you doing here this early in the morning?" He shifted and replied, "I came here to think." "About what?" I asked. "The pack, along with other things." He said. "Oh." I said. He rose from his sitting position to stand in front of me. He kissed my lips quickly and smiled. "How has your morning been, darling?" "Very long thanks to you." I said grumpily. He frowned at me. "Why?" He asked. "I spent all morning looking for you!" I replied. "You must've because you haven't showered yet." He teased, yanking out my bun. "Hey!" I said. "Allow me to assist you with it." He smirked. I thought he was making some sexual reference, so I said, "Oh real-" But I was cut off by him swinging me in his arms and jumping into the absolutely freezing water below us.
"BEN!" I shrieked. "YOU COMPLETE AND UTTER ASS!" I swam to the edge and was about to shift and run away to go get warm, but he grabbed my wrist. "W-wait." He said, shivering much like I was. "What?!?" I snapped. "I know how t-to not m-make you m-mad at me an-anymore." He smiled. "Oh?" I replied stonily. "Yep." He grinned like a kid on Christmas and I was suddenly very confused.
"Calla Johnson?" He said as he got down on one knee. He pulled out a silver ring with two gems in it, making a yin and yang symbol. Only the gems were'nt white and black, they were jade and turquoise with a small diamond separating them. "Will you complete me?" He asked.
I stood there in utter shock before answering him with the only thing I could say.
