Ben's POV:
I was on patrol with Lucas and Clara when I smelled the familiar scent of blood, mold, and sweat. "Rouges" my Beta Lucas said to my thoughts. "I know but why here? We've never had an issue with them before." I said back. "Maybe they were just passing through." Clara offered up. "Honestly Clara? You know as well as I do that rouges don't just pass through." I spat at her. She whimpered and I felt a little guilty. But hey, being an Alpha without a luna was hard. It wasn't my fault that I was in such a bad mood all the time. "Well whatever the reason, the scent carries north. Should we follow it?" Lucas butted in. "Sure. I'll take point. You two get my flanks." I replied. "Yes Alpha Ben." Clara and Lucas said in unison. We followed the scent all the way to the edge of our territory in Oregon. Our full territory extended from the middle of Claifornia to the Center of Oregon. Then the Mountain Ridge pack took over. The advantage of having 30 Wolves was our huge territory. But who knows how long we'd have that many wolves with the new found rouges in the area.
Lucas, Clara and I raced back to the pack house just in time for dinner. After eating two helpings of lobster, steak, and every vegitable imaginable, I went up to my room feeling stuffed like a pig. My room was all shades of gray, black, and navy with accents of silver. Cool and dark, the way i liked it. I decided to go shower after the long day I'd had and do some thinking. "If rouges really were passing through, then what do they want with the Mountain Ridge pack?" I thought to myself while shampooing. For some strange reason, the wolf part of my brain became frantic. Pacing nervously in my head like it wanted to get out and help. "What's the matter with you?" I tried to ask it. It howled in response. "Help her you idiot!" "Help who?" I replied. "Her!" It howled. "Who is her!" I hadn't realized that I'd said that, or more like screamed that, out loud. "Ben?" I heard my mother call. "Yeah I'm alright!" I said back. I tried asking my wolf again, in my head this time, but he was running around frantically and wouldn't answer. Sighing, I got out of the shower, and looked at myself in the mirror. Staring back at me was a tall boy with shaggy black hair, bright green eyes, and dark skin. Muscles ripped all over my body when I flexed, but turned back to normal skin when I relaxed. Drying off, I went back to my room, pulled on boxers, and hopped in bed. I hadn't slept more than two hours past midnight when I was awoken to the sounds of howls and screams.
