The weeks past faster than I thought they would, between classes, drama, and preparing for a possible upcoming war, the days sped past. Me and Draco would read letters from our parents together, getting together after classes to discuss what certain things meant.
Valaria, Blaize, Theo, Enzo, and almost every other Slytherin student whose parents were once death eaters were getting piles of letters. So, while me and Valaria would talk about our letters in our dorm, the boys would talk about theirs in Draco's, and then me and Draco would go over everything we learned.
We were doing our best to have the most information, so we knew about everything that was happening and knew the best way to move forward without being suspicious to either side of the upcoming war. Knowledge was power, and the more power we had the better our chances of surviving this was.
It was currently October 29, the other schools would arrive sometime tomorrow. I was nervous and some part of me held excitement. There was going to be a lot of new people around the castle which gave me anxiety but at the same time a part of me felt as though something big was going to happen, something good.
With a smile I got ready for bed, humming to myself, and looked over towards Valaria's bed to see her completely knocked out her mouth open, as she snored. I snickered at her knowing if I told her she slept like that she would either be completely mortified or call me a liar.
I shook my head getting under my blankets and finished writing my letter to my parents before sealing it and setting it on my bedside table, telling myself to remember to mail it tomorrow. With that I blew out the last candle in our room and fell back into my bed staring the ceiling.
With everything going on tomorrow my mind raced, and sleep was hard to find. Eventually I fell asleep to the sound of my roommates snoring.
I woke up to loud music playing and a pillow smacking me directly in the face. I sat up throwing the pillow to my side and glared at the girl in front of me.
"Good morning!"
"Please for the love of all Merlin shut up." I goraned into my hands trying to rub the sleep from my eyes. "You are worse than Draco on christmas."
Valaria cackled like she was insane and danced around the room. "Why are you so...unhinged this morning?"
She turned to look at me with an expression that just called me stupid. "The other schools get here today! I am hoping to find an attractive man to court me." She said it like I was stupid, which in fair I could be.
I know a lot of noble families are using this whole tournament to see who good partners for them in the future could be. It was common for our nobles our age to have understandings with other nobles. It's like the step before getting engaged, most people don't understand it and think our parents are forcing us to marry some stranger. It really is just an innocent understanding between kids who fancy each other, and the parents approve.
I rolled my eyes at my best friend, "Now I just need to decide if I want a more feminine French guy or a rough Durmstrang man." I smiled at her just letting her talk to herself. Valaria always such the noble woman, she wanted nothing more to marry rich, and just host partys and balls all year around like my mother.
I looked over at the time and groaned again, "Val it is 8 am, classes are cancled and the other schools do not get here until 12."
"We need time to eat and get ready my friend, so up, up, up! Let's go!"
I ended up wearing a black pencil skirt, a tight red sweater top, black sheer tights, with a small black heel. Valaria wore a white and black checkered skirt with a tight black top and a jacket that had the same pattern as her skirt. Her shoes were a decently high red heel.
