Our arrival to Hogwarts came rather fast, and in what felt like only minutes with Valaria, the train was slowing to a stop. I sent Valaria a small eager smile and she stood up offering her hand to help me up. I gripped onto her and popped up linking my arm through hers.
We both took a deep breath getting ready for everything that was about to come and stepped in the busy walkway of the train. Soon enough we found our way off the train and were guided to the carriages to take us to school.
We hopped up in an empty one and closed the door, a sign that this carriage is now occupied. I slouched in my seat, ready to eat and go to bed, as Valaria closed her eyes, leaning her head against the back of her seat.
The sound of the handle to out cart rattling drew our attention as we quickly sat up composing ourselves. The first thing I saw as the door opened was the bleach blonde head of my little brother, and I sighed relaxing a little.
"Draco Malfoy."
Valaria said with a slight eye roll, "You frightened us."
A small grin grew on Draco's face as he opened the door further to be able to step in. Behind him were Blaize, Theo, and Enzo. "I am glad you find scaring us so amusing brother."
Draco settled into the seat next to me and held an offended hand to his heart, "I would never." I rolled my eyes at him as Theo sat beside him smacking the back of his head.
"It is a sin to lie my friend." Enzo and Blaise climbed in the seats next to Valaria as Draco turned to the boy beside him, "Shove off Theo."
"Alright, alright, knock it off you two, merlin, can you two be civil for about 10 minutes?" I looked at both of them nodding to my words and I smiled.
"How long are we giving Harry Potter this year before something happens?" Enzos question made a silence go through the carriage before everyone started throwing out dates and times. The more time went by the louder they became trying to talk over each other, laughing at remarks made throughout the ride.
By the time they had reached the entrance of the castle a silence overcame the group, every mind settled on one thing. The amount of money any of them would win based simply off of the luck of a certain brown-haired boy.
Draco offered his hand to both me and Valaria as we stepped down and off the carriage before running off with the other 3. Linking arms, me and Valaria quickly made it inside and found a seat at the Slytherin table ready for the feast.
Soon enough the sorting was over, and the food appeared, minding our manners our table slowly ate away at the beautiful spread in front of us. The same cannot be said about the rest, looking over I saw food flying from one end of the Gryffindor table to the other.
The sound silver against glass rang through the great hall and a hush fell about the students as they all turned to Dumbledore. "I would like to make an announcement. Quidditch is to be canceled this year."
The yelling of none other than the Weasley twins drew everyone's attention to them as they booed what Dumbledore just said. If Oliver Wood was still in school, I'm sure he would be sobbing at that thought alone.
"Hogwarts has been chosen to host the Triwizard Tournament." Excited whispers went through the great hall as I turned to look at Valaria, not liking the sound of this. Dumbledore continued talking about other schools coming to stay with us, but I tuned him out and whispered to Valaria.
"Val" she hummed, her eyes meeting mine. "Do you have a bad feeling about this?" She slowly nodded her head in agreement. Slytherins are all about self-preservation, so I doubt many of our house are going to be entering something like this with such a small prize. Why would you risk your life for "eternal glory" and most Slytherins come from noble houses so it's not like we need the money.
