The closet was even bigger than Rebecca had expected, and she felt a sense of familiarity from her family home. Her suit was displayed on a mannequin—a new suit, actually, still black but it had extra details on the seams. It looked, more protective.

Rebecca sighed and walked over to put it on. She was dreading whatever training Colby had planned. If she played it smart, she wouldn't even go. But from what she barely knew, he was demanding, and she had no doubt he would knock her door down and bring her there to train if she decided not to show up.

She left her hair down, and slipped on the suits boots before putting on her ring and necklace, and left her room. She walked down the stairs as quiet as possible, but with her boots pounding the floor, it wasn't easy. Colby's father's breathing machine helped some. It was pumping oxygen into his lungs, and the machine was definitely more than loud.

Rebecca couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt for what he was going through. He had gotten hurt on a mission a few months ago, and it nearly took his life. He more than likely deserved it, he's a Lopez. She shoved that horrible thought down as she reached the kitchen. "Good morning, Dorothy."

Dorothy—who had fixed herself and Heath some breakfast soup—turned around and smiled. "Good morning, dear. You headed to the headquarters for breakfast?"

Rebecca nodded. "Yep. And then to training."

Dorothy laughed. "Colby and his trainings. He's always trying to better the team." She picked up the bowls for the soup. "You be careful, and try to have fun."

Rebecca smiled and walked backwards to the door. "Oh you know I will." She said with a wink, and when she reached the door, she pushed it open and headed straight for the headquarters cafeteria.

. . . . . .

After breakfast was ate—which was protein pancakes and eggs—Rebecca waited outside the training room for Colby. She was starting to dread whatever exercise he was about to give her, but she was willing to prove herself. She tried to take a glance through the door window, but she couldn't see anything that stood out.

"Nosey, are we?" Colby said from behind her, making her jump slightly back towards him. "Can't wait a minute longer."

Rebecca swallowed and shrugged. "I was...curious. What exercise are we doing?"

Colby politely nudged her out of the way so that he could unlock the door with his badge. He walked in and turned on a light to his right. "You'll find out." He tossed his badge on a table and waited for her to walk in. When the door closed and locked, he cleared his throat. "See those mannequins across the room? I want you to shoot them down, one by one."

Rebecca glanced across the room. Guess we're not waisting no time. "With what? I didn't bring any weapons..." The last word went still as she looked over at him and saw three different guns laid out on a table. "Do I get to choose?"

Colby nodded. "I don't care which one you choose as long as you shoot the mannequins. You've got twenty seconds to shoot all three of them."

Rebecca picked up a gun and scoffed. "Twenty? I don't think we're in the military here."

Colby stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Well considering we've combined our teams, every empire in the world will be coming after us, so you need to know how to shoot quickly."

Rebecca brought her gun over to the lines marked on the floor. Exactly twenty feet across from the mannequins. Colby pulled out a remote from his pocket. "Your time starts, now."

Rebecca pulled the gun up and quickly found her first target. She pulled the trigger and watched the mannequin fall. She moved quickly to the next marker. She pulled the gun up and aimed. Shooting again, the mannequin fell backwards. She moved to the last marker. She aimed her gun towards her target, and pulled the trigger, watching as the last mannequin fell still.

Rebecca stood back up breathlessly. "Impressive." Colby said with a proud smile. "And with 12.4 seconds to go." He hummed in response. "And here you thought twenty seconds wasn't enough."

Rebecca pushed a piece of hair behind her ear. "It wasn't as bad as I expected."

Colby then pulled out another remote. Pressing it, the two watched as Joseph and Jonathan brought in someone with a black bag over their face and forcing him to stand in the middle of the room. "What is—"

"Perfect! Thanks boys." Colby said as they walked out of the room. "Your next exercise. Save the man before I shoot him."

Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows with disgust. "Are you out of your mind?! That's an innocent man standing in the middle of the room, your not going to kill him!"

Colby gave her a smug smile. "You're right. I won't kill him if you can save him."

Rebecca tensed, and watched him take off his suit jacket. Is he for real? She then watched him pick up a pistol and load it. "Okay so you're for real. How am supposed to save him?"

"That's for you to decide." He then motioned towards the man, who was screaming for help. "The clock starts...now."

Rebecca didn't hesitate. She moved as fast as possible to the other side of the room. The only problem was how big the room was. Colby stalked in behind her, making her skin crawl. She was almost there, when a man tackled—more like speared— her to the floor hard. Colby then walked straight to the screaming man and shot him in the head without a second thought. "That was...fun."

Rebecca pushed the man off—and realized it was Joseph. She hurled up fast, and went straight for Colby. "What the hell were you thinking?!" She said grabbing a knife out of her pocket and sticking it to his throat.

Joseph pulled out his gun, and the rest of Colby's men—who must have been standing on close by—pulled out their guns as well, and they all pointed them at Rebecca. "You shoot her, I'll kill everyone of you." Colby said, not taking his eyes off of Rebecca.

She swallowed, and pulled the knife away angrily. She didn't say a word as she stared all the men down, and walked away, slamming the knife to the ground behind her.
