When the gunshots were fired at the people lined up in the campground, the duo quickly moved to the next campground where one of the soldiers sat waiting for their next orders.Colby grabbed his gun and pointed the barrel towards the soldier's head and pulled the trigger. With the other gunshots ricocheting around the area, no one heard Colby's gun go off. Good.
While Colby moved the soldiers body, Rebecca moved to one of the monitors displayed on a table. The cameras were on, and she could see, what she was hoping, were most of the rooms. "Where do you think they have our team?" She asked.
Colby walked back over and glanced at the screen. "I don't think they would be on camera. I'm sure they're locked up somewhere." He saw the layout of the building and tried to remember the rooms for when they finally went in.
Colby had grabbed the soldier's keycard so that they could get in the building, the only problem was trying to find an entrance that wasn't being guarded. He turned back around and looked at the cameras. Rebecca pointed towards a door that led to an empty room. "What if we go in there?"
Colby looked towards the edge of the camera to see what side of the building the door was on. The left side. They could make it around the building without getting caught...right? "It's on the left wing. Come on, before someone finds us."
Rebecca nodded and followed him out of the campground. They ran to the building, passed the cameras, and ran right to the door. He scanned the keycard and they slipped inside. Once they were in, Rebecca couldn't help but to scan her surroundings.
Nothing but a dark room and two large doors at the end of the wall. "So are we splitting up?" She asked.
Colby was in his mind trying to remember the layout of the building. "I don't want to...but we might need to."
Rebecca swallowed. "You want me to go right or left?"
Colby glared at her. "If you get into any danger, you come straight to this room, got me? Page me with that necklace and I'll come to you as soon as I can."
Rebecca rolled her eyes. "You don't have to protect me. Just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I can't protect myself."
"I'm not protecting you because you're a woman," He said adjusting her belt strap. "I'm protecting you, because you're my woman."
Rebecca swallowed, and looked at everything but his face. Him and those damn dimples. And those flashy eyes..."Got it?" He said backing up and reloading his gun.
Rebecca cleared her throat. "Yep. I got it. Which way am I going?"
"Left. I'm going right towards the front of the building to where the commanders normally stay." He said walking towards the door. "Promise me you'll page me if you're in danger?"
Rebecca nodded. "Promise. Let's go."
The duo went their separate ways. Rebecca took off down the left hallway slowly, watching closely for any soldiers to be around. She stayed close to the wall, trying to keep out of sight.
She went around corner after corner after corner, through hallway after hallway after hallway, in and out of different rooms looking for any clues to where her team might be—
Her knees almost buckled. Dead was everywhere. So many bodies mixed and meshed in this hallway, she didn't know whether they were apart of her team or theirs. She leaned her head back against the wall and closed her eyes for a second. Think Rebecca. Think.
She took a deep breath, and moved her hand to the gun on her belt strap. She pulled it out in front of her and kept it steady for when she needed to use it. She opened her eyes again, and started moving towards the bodies. She needed to get past them to get to the other side...
Rebecca started blinking back tears, but she knows she has to fight. You're marrying a supreme commander, you're going to have to get used to this! You're a soldier, toughen up!
She's tackled from behind. Someone pins her down and her face is buried in the ground and she's kicking. She's trying to scream, to get an advantage on him and take him down. Her gun is wrenched out of her grip, she feels an elbow in her spine and she knows they've been caught. They've found Colby and now they've found her, and their team is still here too, which means now they're all here, and who's going to be the ones to save them when they can't even save themselves.
A gun is now pointed at her head, and a boot pressed against her back.
Someone flips her over.
The same someone who was holding a gun to her head is now holding it to her face, and he's inspecting her. She's so confused, because why isn't he pulling the trigger?
Someone pages him on the intercom. Rebecca takes that distraction to reach up for her necklace. He sees what she's trying to do, and he yanks her to her feet and puts her in a headlock and presses the gun to her skull. "I know who you are. You move an inch and I will kill you."
Rebecca doesn't believe him though. If he was going to kill her, he would've already done so. She needs a plan. She needs to somehow get out of his grip. She knows what to do, she moves her head upward before rearing it back into his face. His grip falters so she elbows him in the ribs before taking the gun from his hand. She shoots his leg, and instead of waiting to see what he does, she runs.
She only got a few feet though before 3 more soldiers come around the corner and slammed into her, alerted by what she did to their comrade, and shoved her to the ground again.
All 3 are pressing their fists into her face shoving her further to the ground. She tries to squirm, but they knock her in the back of the head.
She's rendered almost entirely unconscious. She hears voices, and she's being lifted off the ground and she's being carried away.
She doesn't know where they're taking her, but she knows she's going to die.
