When the sun came up the next morning, Rebecca and Colby headed off towards the location he had pinned. They drove and drove for hours until he finally pulled off onto the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. Literally in the middle of nowhere.

The road had ended, there was buildings burnt to the ground all around them, and it was so cloudy. Rebecca knew it was going to rain soon, which would make this next part so much harder. "We're walking the rest of the way." Colby said.

Rebecca obliged, and followed him through the field. From what the location had said, the headquarters was exactly 1.3 miles away, and Colby wasn't about to risk them getting caught driving there.

"So what's the plan, Lopez?" Rebecca asked looking around. "We just gonna kill everyone in our path until we see one of our teammates?"

Colby took a deep breath. "Sort of." He was quiet for a moment, and Rebecca knew he was thinking about something. "Us killing all their soldiers would be an excellent idea, the only problem is, I don't know who the supreme commander over here is. They might find us first and kill us."

She didn't know how to respond, so she didn't. Instead, she asked, "Do you have suspicions of who they could be? I know you know a lot of supreme commanders, considering you're the supreme commander of over half the US, but do you know who could've got our location?"

Colby played with his belt strap. "Honestly love, I have no idea. There has been hundreds of supreme commanders in my headquarters..."

Rebecca chose her next words carefully. "Do you think your father could've had unfinished business with some of them?"

Colby stopped fidgeting with the belt, but continued walking. "Could have. But Vanessa would know more about that than I would."

Gunshots went off in the distance. Colby and Rebecca came to a stop, and listened and watched closely at what was happening. Thunder had rumbled as well, and rain began to fall. "We need to get closer to see what's happening. Follow me."

Colby led the way towards a tree further along the path, and as they peered down at the headquarters that finally came into view, their hearts began to race. They watched as soldiers swarm the area with guns pointed at civilians that are lined up on the wall. "They are going to kill them..." Rebecca whispered.

Colby placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I can't hear what they are saying, can you?"

She shook her head, and Colby sighed. "We need to move."

Rebecca followed his eyes to the front gates of the headquarters. "Do you think we'll get caught?"

Colby shrugged. "I hope not...just stay close to the wall so the cameras won't pick us up."

Rebecca nodded, and when Colby shifted to move so did she. They crouched and hurried down to the wall, praying no one would see them. They came to a stop and walked closer to where the soldiers were. "This is the last of them," someone shouts. "She was hiding out over there." A soldier is dragging a crying woman out from the compound the duo were huddled against.

Rebecca had to keep the emotions from spilling out of her eyes and her mouth. They did not speak. They did not breathe.

Another soldier jogs over from somewhere they can't see. He shouts some kind of approval message and makes a motion with his hands that they don't understand. Rebecca feels Colby stiffen behind her.

Something is wrong.

"Toss her in with everyone else," the second soldier shouts. "And then we'll call this area clear."

The woman starts screaming again. She's screeching, clawing at the soldier, telling him she's done nothing wrong, she's been looking for her daughter, and she's screaming once again. The soldier presses the barrel of his gun to her neck. "If you don't shut up, I'll kill you right now."

Rebecca doesn't understand what's happening. At first, she thought they were lining people up to kill them, but those people have moved somewhere else now. "What's going on?" She whispered.

Colby doesn't answer right away. "They're rounding people up," he whispers after a moment. "They're creating groups of people to kill all at once."

Rebecca had to swallow back the vomit threatening to over-power her. She had witnessed innocent people dying before, but up this close, seeing how many lives were about to be taken, and knowing the possibility that their army could be next...was baffling. "Do you think we can get them out?" She whispered, already knowing the answer.

Colby gripped her shoulder. "I love how caring you are...but no."

Rebecca sighed. "We need to move, little miss." He then moved his hand from her shoulder to her face, and turned it towards him. "I know you're all weird about not wanting to hurt people or whatever, but these guys are not messing around. They will try to kill you."

She nodded. "I know. I'll be okay. I'm Co-CEO remember? I can handle them."

Colby nodded and let go of her face. He grabbed his gun from his belt strap. "Let's go," He whispered.
