The soldiers didn't return for a while. Colby had an hour to try and bring his idea to life. The only problem was...well—them.

"I can't grab it!" Rebecca said frustrated.

Colby took a deep breath. "Rebecca, grab my end of the rope and pull! That's how we untie ourselves!"

"And I've told you, I can't grab it!" She argued.

They had been trying to untie the rope for almost forty minutes now. Colby had tried to untie it from Rebecca's side, but it wouldn't budge. "This isn't that hard, honey, just grab the rope!" He laughed.

Rebecca reached for it, again, and again, and again, and again. "I still can't reach it. My hands are tied really tight."

Colby sighed. "Okay then, let's start wiggling our chairs."

"Great idea." She replied.

The duo started moving in their seats, trying to loosen the grip the rope had on them. "Keep going!" Colby said. They continued moving, and were actually getting somewhere, but then the chair wobbled, and down to the floor they went.

Nothing was said between the two. Colby was just frustrated at the moment. He thought this was a good idea, but clearly it wasn't. He closed his eyes when Rebecca started laughing.

She was laughing so hard she had tears coming out of her eyes. Colby swallowed and couldn't help but to smile at her. "You think this is funny?"

"No not at all," she said through a laugh. She eventually stopped, and cleared her throat. "Sorry, it isn't funny."

Colby kept smiling. You can laugh any time you want. I love your laugh. "Then why were you laughing, Agent Quin?"

Rebecca sighed. "Because this was a stupid idea and now when they come back in here they're going to know that we tried to escape."

Colby sighed. They needed to get out of here and back on their mission to find their team. If only we had stuck together....

"Colby...." Rebecca slowly said. "I can wiggle my hands."

Colby turned his head to the side although he couldn't see anything. "Thats great! Keep pulling and see—"

The door was thrown open, and a whole squad of soldiers came in. One of them stepped aside and laughed at the two on the floor. "Trying to escape huh?"

Two more soldiers came up and pushed their chairs back up and sat them back where they were in the middle of the room. "I'm going to guess it was the pretty one's idea."

Rebecca rolled her eyes, but was squeezing Colby's right hand. He glanced down at his side to see Rebecca trying to get his attention as she maneuvered her hands to try and break loose from the ropes. He needed to distract them.

But someone else already had that idea. The loud alarm system went off. Tons of soldiers were shouting down the hallway and running towards the new threat. Gunshots and yelling then started. Someone's here. Colby thought as he glanced at Rebecca's hand again.

She was almost out. Colby looked back up at the soldier staring at him. "You going to stand there or are you going to go after the threat?"

The soldier tilted his head but jumped when doors on both sides of the room swung open. More soldiers came in from both sides of the room—Colby knew they weren't from around here since they had different badges on—and started shooting at the soldiers guarding Colby and Rebecca. It's a shootout! We're going to die.

The duo had no coverage. Gunshots were ricocheting everywhere, and all they could do was sit in the seats and hope for the best.

Didn't have to hope for long though, because Rebecca finally untied herself. She very carefully got up from her chair and moved to Colby. "I got out! I'm going to untie you."

Colby shook his head frantically. "Are you crazy?! No, Rebecca! Get down!"

A bullet flew right past her head, and she buried her face into Colby's arm. She slowly pulled back up and started on the ropes again. "I'm getting you out."

"No! Leave me! Get out of here Rebecca!" He said angrily. "You're going to get shot."

Rebecca looked towards the soldiers around them, and moved quickly onto Colby's lap. She was going to be his shield. "Get off me woman!" Colby yelled. "Rebecca get down on the ground now! You're going to get shot!"

She tuned him out and continued working on the ropes. Getting frustrated with them, she reached into her pocket and grabbed a knife and started cutting them. "Rebecca please get down!" Colby said in near panic. "I'm begging you, get down!"

A soldier heard him and walked over to them while the shootout continued. He grabbed Rebecca from behind and injected a needle into her neck. She dropped the knife slowly, and was pulled off of Colby's lap. "Drop her! You leave her alone!" He yelled.

But there wasn't anything he could do. Rebecca was being dragged away while Colby sat in the chair kicking and screaming at them to bring her back. Another soldier came over and knocked him in the back of the head. Before losing consciousness, the last thing that Colby heard was gunshots, and his frustrated cry.
