I hate him. I hate him. I hate him! Rebecca's thoughts said as she stormed through the second floor of the headquarters. She was furious at Colby for the stunt he pulled. He had no right to kill that innocent man...and to think I could've stopped all of it.She shook her head and tried to ignore the whirling thoughts going through her mind. It's not like she hadn't killed people before....but never did she not have a reason to do so. Especially if they were apart of other empires, it was apart of her job. But seeing that young man tied up, hearing how terrified he was, broke her heart.
"Yo, Agent Quin." Someone called out behind her. She whirled around and saw Jonathan walking up to her. "Hey, I'm sorry if we—"
"Don't bother." Rebecca said gritting her teeth. "If Colby sent you after me, tell him to do it himself. But I don't need pity from anyone. Especially not him."
Jonathan pressed his lips together. "Actually he didn't...I just felt bad." Rebecca started walking again, and Jonathan followed. "I actually have a few training exercises I can teach you if you want me to. I understand if you don't want to work with him."
Rebecca glanced over her shoulder. "Listen, Jonathan was it?" He nodded at the name. "Okay, Jonathan, it's not that I don't want to work with him, it's his stupid tricks that he pulls. That was uncalled for. Killing an innocent man for a training exercise?? I have NEVER stooped down that low."
Jonathan smirked. "Well to be fair, I—" He went quiet for a moment. "Actually there really isn't anything I can say. Yeah he was a random guy we found."
Rebecca rolled her eyes as she stopped in front of the gym door, where all of her friends were currently at. She leaned on the door and waited for him to say whatever it is he wanted to. "Look, I'm sorry okay? I don't want any of us to be on bad terms, especially with you. We don't want to make you uncomfortable."
Rebecca sighed. "Thanks for the apology, Jonathan. And it's not you I'm upset with. It's our commander." She said pushing the door open and walking inside, leaving a curious Jonathan standing at the door.
Rebecca ended up staying around headquarters. If Colby wasn't going to come force her to finish her training exercises, she wasn't going back. I can't believe he did that...
She sighed as she watched the team do their training. Joseph, which who she was guessing was Colby's right hand man, was leading the exercises, showing them proper fighting stances and different ways to use weapons.
She was about to join them, when someone cleared their throat in behind her. "You're good at running away aren't you?" Colby said as she turned around. "First the club and now training..."
Rebecca rolled her eyes, wanting to forget about that night entirely. "Funny. What do you want?"
Colby smirked and looked her body up and down. "You are absolutely delicious when you're angry." Rebecca crossed her arms and if looks could kill, Colby would've fell dead on the spot. "Come back to the training room. We have business to handle and I can't send my new army out on these missions if I don't know they're skills."
Rebecca unfolded her arms and leaned against the wall. "How about no. I'm tired."
Colby clicked his tongue. "Tired? Really? That's all you could come up with?" He took a step forward. "Come back with me to the training room."
"I don't want to—"
"That's an order, Agent Quin." Colby said stuffing his hands in his pockets. "I won't ask again."
Rebecca scoffed. "What are you going to do if I don't?" She asked shaking her head. "Exactly, not—"
The next thing she knew Colby had stepped in front of her and pinned her shoulders to the wall. He glared down at her and whispered, "You're not going to stand there and embarrass me in front of my empire. You are to be my equal, my partner, and most of all my wife, so stop acting childish. You're supposed to set an example for everyone here, and out in the public, and right now, you're showing my team what a coward you are."
Rebecca's mouth parted, but none of the words she wanted to say came out. She stared up at Colby, "I'm..." She whispered swallowing.
Colby glanced in behind him, and saw a few of the team staring at them. He turned back towards Rebecca and cleared his throat. "Are you going to stop whining?"
Rebecca glared up at him. "I just don't like how you handle things, I'm not whining."
Colby gritted his teeth. "Well I'm sorry, sweetheart, you're just going to have to get used to it."
Rebecca sighed and waited for whatever else was going to spill out of his mouth. "Now, are you ready to go back or do we need to stand here pinned to the wall?" She took a deep breath. "Because if you'd like to stay pinned to the wall, I can think of a few things we could do—"
"Okay okay! Let's go." Rebecca said squirming to get out of his grasp. He finally let go, and he followed her with awe as she lead them back to the training room.
