Max was currently walking to Sam and Tara's apartment because Chad had sent him a text saying that he should come to a fraternity house party. He was currently wearing a Green Power Ranger costume that his girlfriend bought him. His favorite character was Tommy Oliver so she bought all of the costumes connected to the character.

While he was walking he saw a woman on the phone with a yellow dress walking towards an alley. Max felt that something was going to happen so he followed. He saw that the woman was starting to panic and he started to move quickly and make sure she was alright. Then he saw Ghostface running out of nowhere stabbing the woman in the shoulder causing her to scream in pain. Ghostface pushed the woman to a wall and before he could stab her again Max tackled him to the ground.
While they were on the ground Max pushed the knife away and punched Ghostface a few times and he head butted him. While Ghostface was on the ground stunned Max turned to the woman who sitting down in shock. He stood up and carefully approached her and offered his hand to help her up. She looked at his hand and grabbed it and he slowly pulled her up.
"Are you okay ?" Max asked with concern. The woman nodded while looking at her stab wound.
"You should call the police and get that wound checked out." Max instructed.
The woman used her phone to call the police while Max stood next to her. Unknown to both of them, Ghostface and slowly grabbed his knife without making noise. The woman turned her phone off and turned around to look at Max.
"They said that they'd be here as soon as they can. For now all we can do is wait and-" The woman said but she was cut off when she looked behind him. She saw Ghostface running towards him raising his knife.
"Look out !" She shouted.
Max turned around saw that Ghostface was about to stab him. But thanks to his quick reflexes, he was able to catch the killer's arm before he was stabbed. He twisted Ghostface's wrist so hard that he caused it to snap and he flipped over his shoulder to the ground. Max started stomping on his face until Ghostface stopped moving.
"That's it ? I thought this would be more challenging. This is just another Ghostface wannabe." Max said out of breath. The woman carefully approached him.
"Are you okay ?" She asked.
Max nodded at her and he took off his helmet. The woman was shocked to see that it was a young man who saved her life.
"My name's Max Riley." Max introduced himself with a smile. The woman managed to smile back at him.
"Nice to meet you Max. I'm Laura. Laura Crane." Laura introduced herself. They heard police sirens coming from behind them and saw police cars approaching the area.
Meanwhile they were seating in the back of an ambulance and while Laura was getting stitched up, Max was talking to one of the officers.
"We don't know why this happened but we'll get to the bottom of it soon kid." One of the officers informed Max.
Max nodded him and he turned and saw the man that attacked him and Laura being handcuffed and put in the back of the police car. His was Jason Carvey, he's one of Laura's film students, his reason for being Ghostface is currently unknown but he's being taken in for questioning.
"It was a brave thing you did kid. If it weren't for you then that woman would be dead." The officer complimented. Max nodded at him.
"I've lost too much from this. I would hate to see anyone else go through what I went through. I don't want anyone else to suffer from this." Max said with a sad expression.
"It's all right kid. We'll take it from here. Just stay safe for tonight and stay out of trouble." The officer instructed and he walked away.
Max looked back to the ambulance and walked over to check on Laura. She currently had a bandage on her shoulder from the stab wound and he approached her.
"Hey. How's the shoulder ?" Max asked. Laura looked at him and smiled.
"I'll be fine. Thank you. You saved my life." Laura said grateful.
"It's a good thing that you weren't killed. I don't want anyone to suffer like that. I've seen enough of that." Max said.
"Well you kept that from happening. After I go to the hospital, I will go to the station and tell them everything." Laura said.
"Okay. See you around." Max said as he turned to walk away with his helmet in his hand.
"Wait. Can you come here for a second ?" Laura called out. Max turned around walked back to her.
"What is it ?" Max asked.
Laura pulled into a hug and hugged him tightly. Max knew that she was scared and possibly traumatized by the event so he hugged her back. She gave him a kiss on the cheek and Max looked in shock.
"Thank you." Laura said one last time.
She walked away being escorted to the hospital. Max watched her walk away and he smiled. He was happy that he saved her from Ghostface but he had a feeling that this wasn't over yet. Unknown to him he was being watched by someone who had grey hair. He was broken out of his thoughts when he his phone vibrating in his pocket. He pulled his phone out and saw that it was Sam calling him so he answered the phone.
"Hey Sam, how's it going ?" Max greeted with a smile. But his smile dropped and his expression was filled with shock at what Sam told him.
