Song of the chapter: Blackbird - The Beatles {♡}
-----------------------------
- Andy's POV -
Once we entered the elevator Vic broke the silnce,"So I was thinking, we'll both need enough time to get our stations ready, get our defense mechanisms built and our amo ready, also we'll both need to ha-"
I cut him off before he could continue. In return to that I said, "You really are serious about this aren't you? C'mon it's just a game."
"No amigo, no. It is never 'just a game', I talk business!", he exclaimed trying to make his Mexican accent thicker. I laughed and the elevator ride was over.
As we walked out the people in the lobby glared at us, still debating whether they should jump us for the hotel key or not. We reached the entrance soon enough and as I opened the door, the cold hit me like I was a deer lost in the headlights of an oncoming truck. Even though it was freezing I walked out with Vic following, we made our way to the empty parking lot covered in snow and just stood there.
"I have a better idea, lets build an igloo." I said.
"An igloo? How in the world would you build one of those?" Vic replied with curiosity.
"Mr. Victor Fuentes, let me demonstrate to you, the fine art of igloo making." I said as I started walking through the snow.
I walked over to a spot that had good packing snow and said "Let's push the snow into a big pile, over there," I said pointing to a corner of the parking lot. "Then we'll hollow it out. Then we'll pack it down so it'll hold."
"Sounds like a plan," Vic said walking over to where I was.
I couldn't help but laugh a bit at the fact that the snow almost reached up to Vic's knees.
We worked that way for a long time, both of us either kicking or taking armfuls of snow and dumping them in a pile. At some point we both stopped caring about staying dry and focussing on getting this thing finished.
After another while I felt a snowball hit me from side and looked up to see Vic smiling at me.
"Very funny," I said trying to sound serious.
"Hey you didn't finish your side of the igloo." I said.
"Real hard worker aren't you Mr. Biersack?" Vic asked playfully.
"Hey, you're the one who wanted to come out here and play in the snow." I said. At that point Vic had moved to the other side of the igloo which gave me time to make six snowballs.
"Yes, the keyword would be play," he said.
I put the snowballs in my jacket and walked close to where he was, pretending to examine the process we've made with the igloo. And then I threw snowball, after snowball at him. By the time I threw the sixth snowball he was laughing so hard he'd fallen to the ground. I didn't want it to stop. His laughter .. it was like a drug.
By then or igloo had turned into a minimountain. I got on my knees and started to scoop out the inside. Ignoring the fact that my hands were now frozen, I kept scooping. Before I knew it I hard carved out a little room. I slowly crawled inside.
"Hey, It worked!" I called out to Vic.
He came over and peered inside tentatively. Then he turned and crawled inside slowly. The space was so small he was practically on top of me. The left half of his body on top of the right half of mine. 4 hours ago this was the last place I'd imagine myslef. It was as if four hours ago when I walked into the airport someone told me I would be on a sandy beach in Hawaii swinging on a hammock in four hours I wouldn't have believed them. This was like that, minus the sandy beach in Hawaii and the hammock.
I looked over at his gloved hands, "Are your hands warm?" I asked.
"Yea, these are great mittens," he said looking down at his gloved hands and my bare hand. "They're my brother Mike's, I stuck them in my bags last minute, he is going to be so mad."
"Can you take one off?" I found myself saying. "My hand is frozen."
"Oh, um, sure." he said slipping one of them off. He started handing it to me, I shook my head, I set the glove down on his lap and took his hand. He was right, those must've been the best gloves, because I've never felt a warmer hand. We stayed like that for about five minutes maybe less. I felt him tug at my hand as he started to crawl out. I let go, staying there for thirty seconds longer.
Once I was out he said "We should go back to the room. But thanks for doing this with me, it was really fun."
"Do we have to?" I said.
"You're the one who didn't wanna come outside in the first place," he said with a cheeky smile. "But I'm ready to go, my feet are freezing."
I didn't want his feet to be freezing. "Okay let's go back in then, and you're right, this was really fun." I said.
Vic and I made our way into the lobby. At this point we've gotten good at it, eye's down, walking quickly, hands clutching the pocket that held the room key, into the elevator. Vic pressed the number three. "Next time I'm home I'm gonna build an igloo with my brother Mike."he said. "I don't know how we've never come up with the idea to build one before."
"Well now you're an expert." I said as the elevator came to a stop and we walked out. Vic took out his room key and slipped it through the slot. He opened the door and walked in.
"Do you wanna order hot chocolate?" I asked.
"Sure, my feet are killing me." Vic said as he started removing his wet clothes.
"Um do you want something to eat also? We could order dinner or go down to the restaurant." I said skeptically.
"What about breakfast for dinner? My mom used to make it for us at home on special occasions." he said happily.
"Sure." I replied with a smile.
"I'm gonna go ahead and shower," Vic said making his way towards the bathroom. I nodded and started dialling room service.
"Hello, um I'd like to order breakfast." I said confidently.
"Oh .. okay, would you like everything included, sir?" asked the man confounded.
"Yes, but instead of coffee make that hot chocolate."
"Okay, room service will be up in about 45 minutes." he said.
"Okay, thank you." I said and hung up. I heard the water start to run from the bathroom, I too needed a shower so I started to gather my stuff for when Vic was done.
-
A while later there was a soft knock on the door. I stood up to get it and at that time I heard the water be turned off. At the door was a lady, she pushed the tray towards me, smiled, and left. I brought the stuff in as Vic walked out of the bathroom.
"That smells good," he said following me into the room. I placed the food on the food on the table and said,"Help yourself, I'm going to take a quick shower." I said as I headed to my bed and grabbed my stuff. "Also, feel free to order a movie or something." I hollered to Vic before I got in the bathroom. The bathroom was steamy from Vic's shower. I stood there dumbfounded, inhaling his scent.
-
I stepped out of the bathroom, Vic was still on the couch in front of the TV eating. I sat next to him and he said, "I got a movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, is that good?"
"Sure." I said as he set his plate down and got up to starts the movie. I grabbed the plate he had assembled for me and started eating. The movie started and Vic once again joined me on the couch.
-
We were about halfway through the movie when Vic and I were both done with our food. I looked at my phone for the time, it read 8:46 pm. I could tell Vic was tired. He slowly drifted off to sleep, his head on my lap, I didn't want to wake him, so I let him sleep. I set my alarm for 9 am, sense our plane was leaving at 11, that gave us enough time to get ready. I tried focusing on the movie, trying not to fall asleep just in case Vic woke up. But I couldn't. Soon enough I was asleep too.
