Without hesitation, he steps closer, his voice soft yet firm,

"Please don't."

I turn to face him, my expression a mixture of surprise and relief at his intervention. I don't know him well, but in that moment, his presence feels like a lifeline.

The genuine concern and empathy in Clint's eyes envelop me like a shield against the storm of her thoughts.

As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a warm, golden hue over the towering silhouette of the Avengers Tower I see Clint Barton cautiously walking toward me.

Clint's gaze softened as he took in the sight of her, my usually vibrant demeanor overshadowed by the weight of my emotions.

"What are you doing out here all alone?" he asked, his concern evident in his voice.

I hesitate for a moment before responding, my voice trembling slightly.

"I... I was just... thinking," she admit, my voice barely above a whisper and eyes downcast.

"About ..?" he ventures, his tone gentle.

My breath catches in my throat, my gaze flickering up to meet his.

"Death", I admit, my voice barely audible over the gentle rustle of the wind.

Clint's expression softens as he takes a step closer, his gaze unwavering.

"Hey, come here," he says gently, extending a hand towards me.

For a moment, I hesitate, uncertainty flickering in my eyes. But something in Clint's demeanor, something kind and understanding, urges me to take his outstretched hand. And so, with a silent nod, I allow him to pull me away from the edge, a sense of relief washing over me.

"I'm glad I found you," Clint says quietly, his voice filled with sincerity as he guids me towards the centre of the rooftop.

I offer him a weak smile, my gratitude evident in my eyes.

"Me too," I murmur.

We sit in silence for a moment, the weight of the moment hanging heavy in the air. Then, with a sigh, Clint speaks up once more. "You know, you're not alone in this," he says, his tone gentle yet firm.

My gaze flickers up to meet his, a glimmer of hope shining in my eyes.

"But I am! There's no one that understands me. No one has seen me. No one knows what they did to me and especially what I did. I killed them.", I whisper, my voice wavering slightly. "I killed them all..."

Without any warnings he engulfs me in a tight comforting hug. I can feel the weight of my sadness begin to ease. It's as though each gentle squeeze is a reassurance that I'm, in fact, not alone in my pain. My body relaxes, tension melting away as if carried off by the comforting arms around me. With each heartbeat, I sense a glimmer of hope, a reminder that there are people who care, people who are there for me even in my darkest moments. The warmth of the hug seeps into my soul, soothing the ache within. For a fleeting moment, the world feels a little lighter, and I find solace in the simple act of being held.

Clint smiles reassuringly, his hand coming to rest on my shoulder.

"I know that we will never truly know what they did to you. But what truly matters isn't the past but what we do with our future. And just know that we will always be there for you." he says, his tone filled with quiet determination.

"You're stronger than you think."

Tears well in my eyes as I look up at him, gratitude shining in my gaze.

"Thank you," I whisper, my voice barely above a whisper.

Clint's smile widens as he pulls me into a comforting embrace once again.

"Anytime, little one," he says softly.

As we sat together on the rooftop, my mind was a whirlwind of emotions. I had never felt so lost, so utterly alone in the world. The weight of my past sins bore down on me, threatening to crush me beneath their weight.

But in Clint's presence, I found a glimmer of hope, a flicker of light amidst the darkness. He didn't judge me for my past, didn't see me as the monster I believe myself to be. Instead, he offers me a lifeline, a chance to start anew.

The fading light of the setted sun casting a warm glow over the city below, I allow myself to believe that maybe, just maybe, there is hope for me yet.

As the last rays of sunlight fade into the night, I know that this chance encounter has changed both our lives forever. The gentle rustle of the wind whispers through the trees, their leaves painted in shades of amber and gold, swaying in a graceful dance. The city below pulses with a subdued energy, the usual chaos replaced by a tranquil stillness. A few lone cars glide silently along the streets, their headlights casting long shadows on the pavement.

Above, the stars twinkle like scattered diamonds, their brilliance amplified by the absence of city lights. The moon hangs low in the sky, a luminous orb casting a soft glow over the rooftops. A sense of peace washes over me, a quietude that is both comforting and rejuvenating.

In this moment, suspended between the bustling day and the restless night, I find myself enchanted by the beauty of the city in autumn. It is a time of transition, of reflection, and of quiet contemplation. And as I stand here, bathed in the gentle glow of the night, I am reminded of the future that lies ahead, a place where even in the stillness, there is an unmistakable hope in the air.

We walk back into the tower, side by side and I can't help but feel a sense of hope for the future, knowing that I have people in my life who would face whatever trials lay ahead together with me.
