"Niki!" Sooyun yelled, catching up to him. Niki turned around and waved a bit. "Test results are out today! Wanna go look at them together?" Sooyun asked. Niki nodded. "Come on!" Sooyun said, grabbing his wrist and guiding him to score wall.

"Class 1 is over there." Sooyun said. Niki looked at her, "You can come with me." Sooyun smiled and nodded. Sooyun looked for her name and her smile faded. "What's wrong?" Niki asked. "I didn't pass." Sooyun sighed. Niki pressed his lips together. "But it's okay! I tried my best! And it wasn't even the lowest score." Sooyun smiled.

Sooyun looked at her science score and her eyes lit up. "I got the highest in my class for science though! It makes up for the math test!" She smiled. "Let's go look for yours, come on."

Niki nodded and went to look for his. 'How's she so optimistic? She didn't pass.' He thought. Niki brushed it off and looked for his name. "Found it!" Sooyun said, covering up his score. "Let's see what it is together." She said. Niki nodded.

"Ready?" Sooyun asked. "I don't know." Niki replied. "On the count of three." Sooyun said. Niki nodded. "3, 2, 1!" Sooyun moved her hand and looked at the score. "At least you passed." Sooyun said. Niki just stared at his score with a confused, worried expression. Sooyun frowned, "You said science wasn't your strong suit, let's check math."

Niki nodded and followed her. "This time I'll tell you." Sooyun said. Niki nodded again and put his hands in his pocket. Sooyuns eyes lit up, "You got a 98! Highest in your class!" Niki looked at the board then at Sooyun. "It makes up for the science!" She said. "No..." Niki mumbled to himself.

Sooyun looked at the time. "I have to go to the office to help print test. Would you like to come?" She asked. Niki nodded slowly. "Hey Niki! How'd you do on the science test?" Jungwon asked, wrapping his arm around him. "I uh.." Niki sighed. Sunoo looked at his score, "You were 1 point away from passing. I consider it passing."

Niki just nodded. "Wanna go to the convenience store?" Jungwon asked. "I'm going with Sooyun to the office." Niki replied. "Dude that's the first time you spoke a full sentence! I thought you didn't know Korean!" Sunoo chuckled, wrapping his arm around him as well.

"You can go with them." Sooyun said, "I'll just ask Dani to-" "No." Niki insisted, grabbing his book bag, "I'll come with you." Sooyun nodded, "Alright, come on!"

"Sooyun! Niki! You were just the two people I was looking for." Mr. Lee said. "Mr. Lee." Sooyun greeted. "I've noticed that you and Riki have been-" "Niki." Sooyun corrected. Niki smiled a bit.

"I've noticed that you and Niki have been hanging out a lot and that you two are stronger in each others weakest subject." Mr. Lee said. Sooyun nodded. "What do you two think of tutoring each other?" Mr. Lee asked. Sooyun looked at Niki, who was trying to hide his smile.

"What do you think, Kiki?" Sooyun asked. "I wouldn't mind." Niki said. Sooyun jumped up and down excitedly. "Now it is your freshman year, don't spend too much time studying. Have fun too. You're kids." Mr. Lee said. Sooyun nodded but Niki just hummed.

"Anyways, here are the papers I need you to print." Mr. Lee said. "Thank you." Sooyun said, handing Niki half of the stack. "You guys can study after school in my classroom anytime." Mr. Lee said. "Thank you, sir!" Sooyun smiled, "come on, Kiki." Niki nodded and followed her.

Sooyun yawned as she sat on her bike. "Tired?" Niki asked. "A little bit. I never leave school this late." Sooyun replied. Niki thought for a moment, "Sit on the back of my bike. I'll bike you home." He said. "But we pass your house-" "It's fine." He reassured.

Sooyun sat on the back of the bike and held onto to Niki's jacket. Niki drove his bike with one hand and held Sooyuns with the other.

"Sooyun." He started. He stopped the bike and turned around, seeing she was asleep. He smiled a bit and continued biking.

September 10th, 2020

"Fun day is coming up," Mr. Lee said, handing out forms. "List 2 things that you would like to participate in during fun day. If you aren't able to participate, we'll find something for you to do."

"What are going to do? I'm going to participate in the dance competition." Danielle said. "They have a dancing competition?" Sooyun asked. Danielle nodded. "I have two left feet so... you'll be better without me." Sooyun chuckled. Danielle nodded.

"I'm going to ask if I can photograph instead of participate." Sooyun said. "Oh yeah you like photography." Danielle awed, "you should definitely ask." Sooyun nodded.

"What are you going to do man?" Jungwon asked. Niki scratched the back of his ear as he looked at the dance option, "I don't know." "I'm thinking of entering the baseball competition," Sunoo said. "Figured. I think I'll just be a water boy." Jungwon said. "Give me free water." Sunoo said, nudging his shoulder. 

Just then the bell rung. "See you at lunch, Niki!" Jungwon said, ruffling his hair. Sunoo waved goodbye and smiled. Niki smiled a bit and waved back.

He began packing his things and his teacher, Mrs. Chu approached him. "You're the only one that didn't turn in your paper." She said. Niki looked around and realized he was the last person there.

"Fill it out." Mrs. Chu said, pointing to the paper. "Can I not participate?" Niki asked softly. "What kid wouldn't want to participate in fun day?" Mrs. Chu asked. "Uhm..." Niki looked down at his paper.

Mrs. Chu folded her arms. Niki circled dance and basketball and handed it to her. "Dance and basketball? What a interesting combination." Mrs. Chu said, "you're good to go."

Niki grabbed his belongings and walked out, immediately being met with Sooyun. "What did you choose?" She asked. "What did you pick?" Niki asked. "I chose to be the photographer! For the yearbook and the website. Don't worry I'll take pictures of you." Sooyun replied.

Niki chuckled and Sooyuns eyes widened. "You laughed!" She said. Niki scratched the back of his ear, "no I didn't." Sooyun smiled to herself, "let's go." Niki nodded and followed her to the lunch room.

'Dear Diary, Niki doesn't think I notice, but I do. Every time he lies, he scratches the back of his ear. I find it cute. I always notice the little things.
